noob vs pro tips - Hry
I’ve been incorporating little bits of your builds, like the windows, in my latest base and it’s made the world of difference. Thanks for all the great tips!
Great to hear! I am glad i could help ya out 😃
@@Versaugh Hi! How to make a wooden fence near the house at the end of the video?
THANK YOU for this!!! I've been getting better at my builds, just earned darkwood and am experimenting with stone houses for medieval styles....but those roofs looked so hodgepodge and I could never understand how you guys got around that.
The key....don't attach roof pieces to the base and pay attention to odd and even/structure support. This was immensely helpful! You inspire me to keep playing just for the buildings haha
Glad I could help! congrats on unlocking darkwood, you builds should be more interesting now!😀
Great concept! I put overhangs on my houses, but it never even occurred to me to angle them out like this! Thank you for the inspiration. You've earn the sub from me
I appreciate that you talk through your thought process as you go, so I learn from the small mistakes you make and learn how to correct them as you do. Definitely a big help for my building skills, so thank you!
You are so welcome!
Ok I gotta say.. I love your videos, love your builds, love your ideas,....the song in the background however, started to drive me insane after around the 100th time it repeats in the first half of the video... 😂
Very helpful video, thanks for all the tips. Just spent about 8 hours building because of this 😂
Thank you! Always amazed what you can do in valheim. If you place a door temporarily in one of the woodpanels/walls you should have a snapping point just on top of the wall, that should save you manual placing with shift.
Good tip! I just love manually placing stuff, it has become a habit😅
Brilliant Thanks V, found you via Kysen's and the Ravenheim server you have, and am am looking forward to having a look through your build videos. One thing I have really struggled with is the transition from stone to wood. I find using the basic wood frames to build and get things to line up and thinks its easier to manage, but getting creative with the stone seems to be a mental switch I struggle with. Even stopped playing for a bit cos I couldn't figure a basic stone gatehouse design to keep mobs out of my base - I wanted it to to allow me to stand and shoot on but didn't want flat and didn't want to use thatch again. Finally tried stone steps as a roof .... boom. Been playing solo since launch but never got to Bonemass... yet.
Loving Ravenheim, would recommend it to anyone - the humour you guys have together is so fun to watch
Thanks for the content
Cool! well welcome to my channel, and hope you enjoy your time watching 😀
As always, another great video! Love your builds and really appreciate that you try to keep things as simple as possible and give detailed explanations for noob builders like myself! 😜
Keep up the good work!! 🤙
Thank you very much!
Great tips, just picked up my first gaming pc so now I can finally get into valheim. I can only imagine all the staging necessary to do some of these builds without console commands.
Nice one man, just recently started playing this on Xbox. I love the building aspect to it, I’m definitely gonna make some of those roofs haha they look awesome 👌
I've made diagonal roof overhangs before, but yours look much cleaner than mine. I'm definitely gonna incorporate some of that into my builds.
The overhang is a great idea, and your video really showcases it well. Well done!
Great step by step, with focus on not taking the audience knowledge for granted, and a lovely openess to preferences. Been looking for some ideas for depth on my structures and will defo take some ideas.
Cheers! (or "Skol!")
😁👍
Thanks
I had no idea about putting stairs over roof tiles! Going to fix my base tonight.
Fantastic tips I haven't seen elsewhere. Videos like yours fuel my enthusiasm for this game! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
WOW this is an awesome technique! Thanks for the pointers and for the wonderful presentation. Only constructive criticism would be that, for me, the super repetitive music was a bit too loud and I found it *very* distracting.
Thanks for the tip, i switch back to another music for part two of this let me know if that is ok, and thank you 🙂
I agree
I just had several "A-ha!" moments.
Thanks for the ideas, mate!
The angled peak was exactly what I was trying to figure out last night!
I like that in Valheim even noob builds look decent.
That's beautiful mate, you're so creative.
Hugin: I bring tidings.
Hugin: Well met.
Hugin: Hey you!
This guy: MoAr WoOd!!
That was excellent building tips, thank you Roofsensei ! :)
You are welcome young Grasshopper 😁
Excellent video explaining roofing. Could you at some point go over roofing uneven walling?
Nice. Great explained and like u said there is noone else mentioning this
Glad it was helpful!
Some great tips in here!
Glad you think so!
damn you're quite a rare gem in the building community, I hope to see more of these
Thanks 😄 yea i plan on doing more of these 😉
Nice building man! like it big times
Cool guide man. Thanks really
Great video! Thanks a lot!
Great video! Thank you for sharing
My pleasure!
Very fine tutorial - thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent info!
Glad you think so! 🙂
This is great, thank you!!!
You're so welcome!😃
This enlighten my mind. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Very clever stuff. If I may offer a small bit of constructive criticism, what you're teaching is incredibly high quality, but it feels like you just kind of winged the video (I mean obviously not totally, since you have pre-built bases for the houses). A script might help you stay a little more on track and keep the presentation clearer and more well-ordered. I'll definitely be looking at your other videos, though!
For sure, there is a bit of uhm, err, uh, hmm, yeah, wait, no, here, actually, yeah that could be cleaned, helps with retention for the most impatient people
That was the most backhanded compliment I've ever heared. Man, I felt some chest pain after reading that.
@@sirweebs2914 get a hold lol
@@fabianbravo6008 look at that someone who cant take jokes. If Id only get a god damn dollar for everyone of you plebs existing here on this plattform..
You do realize that english is not his default language? I think his videos don't need any 'constructive' critisism
Thanks for the tips i am going to try something like this later. What mod you using to fly?.
To each their own but I like the look of the "noob version" better especially with non square houses. keeps everything from looking like a wigwam
Thank you. I am looking forward to using this in future builds.
Love this video but the constant music playing made it hard to focus completely.
that spongebob remix rly out here puting in work
DOOD, your stuff is awesome.
Glad you think so!
Hey thanks for the tips, but may I know where did you got that helmet? is SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK I WANT IT
omg COMPLETE A THOUGHT
The best part about high windows is shooting enemies from them.
very good thanx
Most welcome
good shit
How do you initiate this fly mode, thank you in advance. Other videos talk about opening a command/user board but my game won't let me.
In survival mode, you gotta do what you gotta do. Need to save time and resources so some roofs gonna look bad haha
Or make multiple bases, and take time to build them. There are obvious stages in the game and building a structure in each stage is a seemingly good way to do it. It allows time to actually use the sandbox aspect of the game, while still allowing alot of adventuring and resource hunting.
Have you tried using the "door" method for getting different snapping points?
nope not yet
Wow! Thank you! If you don't want damage because of rain, you can also use the mod "weather" and choose there the weather you want. It is very useful :)
Thanks for the info!
How do you move up n down while flying?
It's not just stairs - a number of things placed "within" a roof tile will not take rain damage.
Looks so nice but I hate it when it rots due to rain :(
hey how do i make a curved door like shown in the picture
How do you fly around like that?
Hey there Versaugh. I was just wondering, do you play Valheim using any mods? Even super minor ones?
yea i play with emote wheel and buildshare mod
@@Versaugh ah ok, thanks for the response!
really appreciate the video, but i hate the bg music.. it's way to loud!
Great video but the background music is killing me🤯😂
Thanks Yeah I changed it for my new videos, 😃
The triangle you speak of is called a "Gable".
You can put the cross on odd or even, doesn’t matter just overlay the cross and you can’t tell
true that is a option👍
@@Versaugh I’ve subbed, you used a couple of texturing ideas I hadn’t thought of.
going back and forth on the video but i cant find what you placed on the window on this build that looks like some 'bones" sort of...
wooden fences
On the angled roof... I can't place the final two beams that cross each other... they just collapse. What am I missing? :( ... The structure is 5 tiles wide, just like in your example. I even placed both of them really quickly assuming they would support each other, they do for a while, but eventually still collapse.
make sure you place the core wood for support on each side corners
@@Versaugh I did, but no luck :( ... I think the problem is that my structure is one tile higher than yours. I managed to find a way to add additional support on the angled beams at the expense of some aesthetics, but it seems to hold for now. Thanks for this guide.
You said to hold the shift key while snapping a piece? What does that do????
Hold shift makes you manually snap a piece and not automatic
bro make a tutorial of the house that is in the final clip thanks
😁 soon
@@Versaugh thank you i really love waching your content it inspires me to build more structures in valheim
apex and gable (good words to know)
Which mod are you using? I would like to give it a try.
for what exactly?
@@Versaugh building without workbench, resources, and gravity
i used devcommands which apart of the game so you don't need mods you can look it up on how to activate it in your game. search for how to activate devcommands. the command for building is call debugmode.
my biggest problem with roofs is falling off of them. how did you get around that?
in survival make a scaffolding, you may see i tease it a couple times in my videos
@@Versaugh i know man I was just joking.
@@emrysmyridden 😄😄ok np
5:30 the phrase is "you get the gist" pronounced with a j
"You catch my drift" is also a common phrase used in moments like that. His was a hybrid of the 2
what you are teaching is very good and im defenetly gonna try that but just one thing is that you are talking very slow. maybe try to figure out what you are gonna say before and then do the video so you can just talk at a normal speed and clearly without having to really concentrate on it
I thought the half wood blocks were around half meter
Nice building tips, but why the distracting music?
The whoosh sound is very loud
You will only have to cut down a few hundred trees to build a wall on your small house this way in survival.
Yes all for a good cause😂
is this a remix to plants vs. zombies music?
😍👌
this fucking music in the background is driving me nuts
great video, music on the other hand.... meh
Shits kinda hard when you can’t fly :(
make a scaffolding, it helps😉
BRO YOUR MUSIC IS AS LOUD AS UR VOICE, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT
Idk I can build pro but I do not want to spend lot of time on it
hmm but not all beginner have Elytra just like you, 🤔
That is why you can make a scaffolding using ladders, which everyone else was able to do and create this.
hahaha my home is noob version xD
Background music ruined this video
The roof and he walls do not meet with your "technique" i dont understand.
That noob in the thumbnail is actually a pro cos he's not wasting time on dumb sheit that has no bearing on the game or his stats.
please dear god never use this background music again
I wouldn't recommend using such simple music throughout a video like this. It gets very tedious and distracting quickly.
Maybe it's just my adhd but I find this impossible to watch despite really wanting to know how to make less shifty roofs....
they are a completely different thing when you drive with cheating!
You talk so slow it’s painful😂
Dude, you can speed up the video. czcams.com/video/KUymMkTpScw/video.html Don't whine about issues you can fix yourself.
