'Allo 'Allo is absolutely brilliant. What I find most remarkable about it is that it pulls off the endlessly recurring themes of sleaze and innuendo, which remain predictable at all times, with impressive class and innocent hilarity. That's because it creates a world, or a universe, where this absurdity authentically belongs. That and its use of accents to signify different languages, and the ludicrous antics, it's simple but brilliant.

@Dalle Samllhals but why? because a minority terrorised majority, brutally enforced their ways and now we are supposed to blindly follow their orders just because? SJW and their PC is bringing the west down, when will the westerners wake up and open their eyes (but not in terms of being "woke")? I'm not talking about being openly racist, sexist, homophobic and generally unpleasant to one another, but if you're not allowed to even laugh about it, then something is definitely wrong and it will create mental and anxiety problems in that part of the population that actually uses their heads not only to feed themselves. The current SJW approach is a weakness that will be exploited by hostile powers like China, Russia or others when the time comes. Besides if today it was "you stupid man" said by a woman then it would be all cool, right? Because women can be sexist towards men, non-whites can be racist towards whites and homosexuals can be heterophobic towards heterosexuals, it's all good no? It seems that currently, the biggest enemy of the west is a white straight man, though actually racism and sexism in low doses are healthy and natural because we are different and that's the fact that's impossible to obscure by aggressive shouting, cancelling and ostracisation. The race is IMO less relevant than ethnicity in this equation because if not counting for a few physical differences that don't matter much we are still the same humans, it's more about the culture and upbringing in which a given person grew up as people are usually scared of new and different, so, for example, the English dislike the Nigerians, as it's a different culture, maybe also religion. If Nigerians that come to England would from the start use the same expressions as Englishmen, had the same accent, same traditions, same viewpoint, same behaviour, and did the same things the same way then they would be much more generally accepted, regardless of actual physical differences. Another example of "racism" (it should be called ethnicism) - English resent Poles, which are from the same continent, have the same skin colour, sometimes we even share a similar bloodline as a part of the English had Polish ancestry and vice versa and yet there is still an antipathy due to different culture, language and traditions. Although with sexes, it's different because physiological and mental differences can be seen plain as day and there is no way to equalise both sexes, man and women are not the same and never will be, we think differently, we are built differently, we follow different solar/lunar cycles, so what's the problem with acknowledging it and laughing about it? I wrote at length and I don't know if it makes any sense, I didn't write in English for quite some time, so sorry for sidetracking and bad English :P All in all what I wanted to say is that we need to stand up to all the negativity that is being pushed by SJW and start fighting for our freedom, otherwise we can just lay down and wait for SJW to strip us of it. Let us eat shit, 17 quadrillions of flies cannot be wrong ;)

What a simple way to show how different accents of the same languages can be used instead of the languages itself. Negating the need for subtitles/translator voice overs! What a wonderful concept ! Kudos to whoever came up with it.
Woonder why no one has used it or even become a popular way. Its so simple and yet so effective that it seems strange that nobody has adopted it or made famous.

Also,i like the concept too but the problem with it is it's still in english but just different accents(german, french, british),for non-english speakers at that time it was still in english but the show got dubbed in other few languages too and they used the same concept as the original, same language but different accents, germans did a great job on it,in my opinion the closest to the original

I always found it amusing how the French characters would always be given dialogue with an overtly French sentence structure e.g. 'Pen of my aunt' as opposed to 'My aunt's pen'. The typically English plural possessives were avoided by the scriptwriters for their lines. That sort of attention to the kinds of things that an English audience finds odd about the French language are what helped to make it so successful. It always brought back memories of French class at school. 😄
