I give a lot of credit to tWO for loosening the FitD bonds. It's still very identifiable as Forged, but the usage is novel (within that subset of games, I mean) and there are a lot of new mechanics and tweaks that pushn or improve the system.

@@DaveThaumavore Dave, I've just downloaded the game for FREE in Drivethru. There is a deluxe edition with more options you can buy, but the main game is free. I'm browsing it right now and can't get enough of the art. It's the most magnificent art I've seen in any RPG.

Hey Dave, what was the most ridiculous thing to ever happen to you in this game?
We played my groups first game last night and they surprised the human raiders by having one raider's skeleton dance out of their meat-suit. Our goblin ran in and started dancing with the skeleton and as the raider chief grabbed both the goblin and the skeleton their warlock exploded the skeleton. It was great! He rolled a success on that one so the goblin made it out alive.

In my game, the adventurers rolled through our dungeon, rolling at least a couple of crits (2+ sixes). They got to our sanctum and we were only playing with two PCs, so we were screwed. The other PC gets smoked and it’s down to me with one roll. I rolled double sixes and skewered the two heroes in the face with a grappling gun contraption that I had on hand. It was quite glorious.

I wonder whether this game would be good fodder for dungeon/monster design?
It’s practically a dungeon design manual. Monster design is not as heavily featured but there are some guidelines for that as well.
