- Here's how to spice up the look and visibility of your car by adding fog lights!
Adding fog lights can enhance the look of your vehicle and increase your vision in foggy conditions. In this video, OEM fog lights are installed on a Toyota Camry using the factory wiring harness, mounting points, and switch. Everything should be plug and play from the base model.
American manufactured Toyota Camry models (TMMK) have a one piece molded bumper without cutouts for the fog light. One option is to cut the bumper and make your own brackets to support the fog lights. The second option, shown here, is to swap in a used bumper from a higher trim Toyota Camry.
Parts needed: Fog lights, fog light relay, turn signal switch with fog light ring, color matched front bumper. All of this was obtained from the junkyard for under $80.
This video also demonstrates step by step how to remove the bumper and install fog lights on a 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 model Toyota Camry. The method is similar for the Toyota Solara, Sienna, Avalon, Matrix, Corolla, Highlander and Lexus ES300.
Watch this video to learn how to make the fog lights turn on independently from the headlights:

I really appreciate it that you cut your videos fast with no pointless rambling to reach the 10 minute mark. Like the good old days of CZcams
+scose Short and to the point is my style, your right the automotive space on CZcams has shifted toward blog style which isn't what short-attention down audiences want!
This video was a huge help. Thank you for showing the relay location cause that was honestly the toughest part.
Holy a smoke like a professional
Finally someone installs fog lites as a factory install. Tyvm for your video. It helped tremendously.
Great video. Very well produced (as usual) and easy to follow. Thank you!
+Screwball McAdams glad you enjoyed it.
Wow! I envy your technical brilliance!!! Thank you!!!
You are welcome
Thanks for the update,I used the same method today an the lights work perfect thanks
Great, what car?
Thank you so much for sharing this! It's so helpful!
Your videos are always thorough and descriptive and yet still straight to the point.
Thanks...that's my style!
Wow you ran thru that like you do this installation for a living nice job too 😁
Thank you so much. I was wondering how to replace the turn signal switch. Great explanation.
This was perfect- this is just what I needed to see so I can do this on my Camry. Thanks for making this video!! :-)
Your welcome...all the best on your Camry LE
Fast and clear explanation, thanks!
Great video! Super thorough and I really appreciate how you show the difference between the American made vs Japanese bumper. Super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey! I want to say thanks! This worked out 100%!
When I met my current girlfriend, she had duct tape everywhere on her 03 Camry bumper! So I replaced her bumper with one I found on eBay that matched the color. I also saw that it had fog light holes which was a plus to me. So I ended up getting a kit on Amazon. This was the worst case of bad aftermarket fit that I've ever experienced! I was originally gonna JB weld it, and then hard wire it. But then I saw your guide!
It was so helpful! I visited the junkyard and got a turn-signal stalk from an 01 Highlander, fog lights from a 05 Camry, and a random relay from some Camry's under the hood fuse-box. OEM is the perfect fit. Polished the headlights and threw in some bright bulbs! Overall, this was incredibly easy! Thank you! I just discovered your channel too! Amazing content!
Thanks I'm glad it worked for you. How did 05 fogs fit in an 03 bumper though?
@@speedkar99 they are the same part. 04-08 i believe. But i have seen other corollas with a more boxier style.
Awesome video! Thank you so much. Had no idea the fog light relay was under the steering wheel
I'm glad it helped. How's your Camry?
Going to the junkyard today to see if I can find a relay
That's an awesome video !!! Thank you !!!!
El mejor video con la mejor explicación del mundo..
Lo hare en cuanto compre el swich
You did explain soooo easy thanks buddy
Glad you appreciate it
Well done. This looks great 👍🏻
Thanks
I like the look but the HIDs over power the fogs
Great content and video production as per the usual - funny comments from other fans also!
+Louis Huynh Thank you 😃
Awesome video and excellent installation 😁
Thanks
Amazing keep it up🔥
Thanks
Thumb up for spending only $80 on the project.
+PeterV agreed! I was lucky enough to score that color matched bumper for $37
Well done! Thank you.
You are welcome
Nice work
Straight to the poing..good video bro
Thanks
I already installed mine
thanks to this unique video on youtube..
Thank you very much bro.
Awesome! I'm working on this on a Mazda 3 now
@@speedkar99 when will you make one for auto lights, for toyota camry 2002-2006 please..
Quick, easy update. Thanks again for sharing Camry content!!! Since my last comment a few weeks ago, my sun roof isn't working. If you're thinking of more Camry videos?
+Eli Munoz Thanks!
Yes I have a few more videos in the works...including one on removing the headliner to access that sunroof 😉
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I did the same on my 09 camry, but without replacing the headlight switch. I just insert a small switch on the under panel. Your work is more professional than mine
+Camry le Thanks. I think because the gen 6 they cheaped out and didn't prewire for fogs.
I wish you had this car when I had my Camry lol. I had a 2003 Japanese built 5-speed stick car.
+StopDropandLOL my first car was an 03 le 4 cylinder. I didn't know much back then and ditched it for a Lexus es330 within 10 months lol
You made that look easy peasy
+Epic Screen name a bumper swap is easy...plug and play
That was great how to video. You just motivated me to do this on my 05 Camry. I'm just wondering if all the Camrys come with the fog light harness.
Thanks. The gen5 Camry is prewired. The gen6 isn't.
Have to like it when they have the stock wiring there to use. I added factory cruise control to a base Vibe easy because the wiring was there, even the "cruise" light was on the dash and worked.
+Gene Fever that's a good idea
You could have also traded the Vibe for a Cruise 😅
Dad jokes incoming!
Nice vid friend....cheers.
Your welcome
Good job!!!
Thanks!!
Excellent guide, worked great for my 2003 5 speed. Although I already had the relay installed, somehow? I assume someone else put it in at some point because it was empty? Not sure, but I installed the fogs and switch and to my surprise when I flipped them on they worked without me touching any of the relays.
You have an SE? Those came with fogs, maybe the relay was from that.
Or maybe the Japanese made Camry had the relays already installed?
@@speedkar99 I have a very very basic LE, steel wheels, cloth, nothing crazy. Maybe it is a made in Japan thing? Kinda wanna snoop around in the junk yard and see now....
I own a 2006 Camry LE I ordered a new turn signal arm online $20.00 ,I bought a new set of fog light housings, and new bumper cover to mount the fog lights in...The wiring is just hanging there like you stated why didn’t they just make them standard ?!?Great Video !!!you motivated me to do mine Thanks 😎🇺🇸
Everything you said I did now where do I get the relay
Will I need to switch for a 03 camry?
perfect speedrun
How would I do this with the kit that comes with the switch. i have a 2005 camry
Great video. Any advice for fixing an AC system that blows hot out of half the vents and cold out the other half? I've got a 98 Lexus ES300. And yes. I've replaced the Freon
Hmm usually that means it's low on fridgerant, since your car doesn't have dual zone climate control that rules out anything in the dash flaps
Hello - great video. Sorry I have a question about another old video you did. It was your catalytic converter hack video. You used a obd scanner which looked pretty good. Which one was it? Could you do a review on one scanner? Many thanks
+John Chappell To be honest I don't remember, I borrowed it. For me the best diagnostics tool is Toyota techstream, and I have a video on that. $20 and you can do so much!
I have a 2000 Toyota Avalon, do you think it's the same concept? How about the location of the relay switch?
Notice your cluster was flashing is that normal my 2000 solara is doing the same
I just got a 2002 toyota camry XLE same color as this one. Unfortunately it has an American bumper so I'm hoping I can find a Japanese bumper for decent price.
I have Japanese 02 LE Camry. Looks like all relays are already installed. At least I didn't find any empty slot. Mine has the bumper cutouts, but no fog lights. I found the harness behind the bumper cover. I installed another switch with fog option, checked fuses and relays but fog lights still don't turn on. Do you have any idea what I can check else? Thanks.
How would I know how many pins my switch has or what one will work I have an 2004 2.4 le my stich now does have drl on it
Thank you for another excellent howto video. Would you know if the 2012 Camry LE has the same wiring harness preinstalled? I’m too lazy to take apart the front end just to find out.
Unfortunately Toyota cheaped put on the newer Camrys after 2007
speedkar99, many thanks, love your videos. Do you need more toothbrushes? :-)
Please install centre lock
So mine has no fog lights either , does it have a connecter for it too also ??
You think I can cut out my bumper and Somehow hold it in? and can it work on a 02 Camry Le ??
my car does not have the fog light switch but it has DRL. Can I use that switch for fog light? or I must replace the signal switch?
Can you please tell me where to get the relay or part number they dont have any here at local junk yard
hey bud. i was trying to install fog lights into my 1999 toyota avalon (japan import) and cant find the connector? any help where it could be hidden?
If it's not nearby the bumper then it's not prewired for fogs.
I really want to do this with my 2010 Volvo S40. Looks much better with the fog lights.
Do Japanese 04 LE Camry's already have the relay installed? Mine has the bumper cutouts, but no fog lights. I see the harness behind the bumper cover.
I would doubt it would have the relay, you can always crawl under and reach around
I wanna replace the fog lights on my 98 Avalon - they’re already installed just need to replace the bulbs I’m assuming?
Yes, check relays and fuses as well
My parents have a 18 RAV4 with out fog lights you think it's the same process if there's the harness already there, id think so right?
Yep as long as the wiring is beneath the bumper
if u find camry se bumper then it always have fog lights brackets . does not matter us built or Japanese.. aftermarket non se bumper would not have brackets to install fog lights .. seems like your 1st bumper is aftermarket for le model .. b/w good work .
just wondering the fog lights fuses are always there . or u had to add them
My first bumper is original American made Camry LE bumper.
Japanese made Came had th cutouts with a blank plate ready to be removed for fog lights to be added, in addition to the tow hook knockout.
Hey Speedkar99, what you think about cvt transmissions? I am thinking of buying the new RAV4, but I am tired of driving std manual, want to rest now, auto would be nice in traffic.
CVTs are noisy and slow for my tastes!
The rav4 doesn't have a CVT in the non hybrid versions though
Hi
Do you know if this year of camry fog lights fit on 2006 corolla? Because it hard to find corolla with fog light in junkyard
Yes they do interchange I believe.
Instead of the turn signal change, can we add a switch to the side? If so how can we do it? 4:43
Do most cars have the fog light connectors hidden? or do you have to manual do wiring?
No. The next generation Camry did not have the head light connectors on non-fog models.
can you do next video about how to adjust the headlight..
+popo 890 check out my hid video
speedkar99 tq
Ahh dangit i didn't watch your video and look good
+Lynx The Fox thanks
do you have the video on how you installed the halo lights?
Yeah one of my first videos on CZcams
I did this on my Corolla. Honestly I don’t even think the guys at the dealership knew these cars came prewired. I worked for a Toyota dealership 4 1/2 years (shuttle driver) and never once was that mentioned. Also when I was telling a guy about it at another dealership he didn’t even seem to know. I just wish my 03 Highlander was prewired. I don’t think it is.
Yeah older cars were prewired but they got smart now and removed all the wires that aren't needed.
superb video, i would not buy 4t camry, i would buy JT camry , why not install LED on fog lamb
+Turbo Yea the Japan built ones came with heated mirrors which I'm missing too!
I'm considering doing the same, however, my LE doesn't have automatic headlights... was this one prewired with a sensor added? I do know that it is prewired for foglamps though.
I think auto headlights is a Canadian thing. Americans had the DRL option right?
speedkar99 yea its standard. But I do know that our XLE has them. I've seen them here...
Do Toyota Camrys generally have pre-wiring for foglights available on 2004 models?
Yes
Wondering if anyone tried with American build 02 camry LE
You have to cut the bumper on American made
What’s the number on the fuse relay I think I got the wrong one
I don't remember the number but if you look at the fuse box diagram you'll see the one that says fog
My camry did not come with auto headlight, but now I installed the light switch that has the auto function to enable the fog light function. Is there is a way to get auto headlight function as well ?
You need the dash sensor
@@speedkar99 thank you so much for your kind response. I will keep you posted👍
At 3:25 you suggest removing the lower panel. I was able to install without removing it. Is there a particular reason why you removed it?
How did you get the replay in without not removing pannel
Do all camrys come pre wires when they don’t come with fog lights?
Just the Gen5.
The Gen 6 they got smart and saved miles of wiring from every LE base model
Why don’t they just make them standard?
Because they want to charge you extra
speedkar99
Okay
Can you just cut the holes for the fog lights out instead of buying a new bumper?
Yes but you'll need to fabricate a bracket to hold it to the bumper
Can you send the link of your headlights, they look like projectors can I kinda want to purchase them for my Camry thank you!
Spyder Halo projectors
You can get them from carID
I have a video from 10 years ago on my channel check it out
@@speedkar99 great thank you
when will you make one for auto lights, for toyota camry 2002-2006.
Isn't auto lights standard on all Camry's?
@@speedkar99 can you make a video, my car does not have them. I think you do not have the connections.
Thank you very much
You specifically said you need to make sure they work before installing the bumper. Then you went and installed the bumper before seeing if they worked.
+Jake Mensing Oh I tested it off camera of course 😊
please give me the fuse number?
Thank you!
Will it turn on with DRL?
See my independent fog light mod video for that
Does a 2005 Corolla CE have the fog lights pre wired
+Caden Lawhorn maybe. Check under the bumper cover, look down from the grille
05 I believe was questionable my 07 doesn't. You should be able to see the harness either through the fog light covers or looking down when hood is open
So the wiring was already there?
Ya
how did you clean the connector for the fog light?
Needle and contact cleaner
@@speedkar99 oh ok cool. what brand was the contact cleaner if you don't mind me asking? thanks for the tip and video...now i know how to install fog lights if i ever get that generation of Camry
is that a 5pin or 4pin relay
I forgot, I think 4 pin
Is it only factory toyota fog lights that will work with the pre installed fog light wiring?
Anything that fits a 9006 bulb
@@speedkar99 what about if the assembly is non factory
My car is a very unique color, but I'd really like to do this swap.
Lol. I did this a few months ago. Got help from toyota nation forum.
+Javid Jalim Yea I saw that post. I also made a diy write-up
speedkar99 is it possible to change the manual climate control to an automatic one?
Im a simple man, i see speedkar video near 12 am and i click even though I have to go to work early in the morning. Lol.
+Minh Nguyen haha I'm a simple guy too. Thanks for watching
Where did u get the Japanese bumper ?
Junkyard
@@speedkar99 I can't find any near Cincinnati. I'm thinking about ways to Jerry rig mine. I have a Gold 02 Camry XLE
Where do you get the relay at ?
Hey bro have you found where to get relay I need one to
Niiiiiice
+thatunknownguy thanks
Would this be the same for Avalon
Yes but check if wiring already exists
Thank you that's what I'm wondering if wiring will be their if not I got to get the wiring harness from junkyard
Turns out was same as Avalon wiring harness was there did not have to replace the bumper on Avalon the covers pop out and the fog relay was under three hood
What do i do if mines doesnt turn on?
Check fuses, switch, relay
@@speedkar99 I have Japanese 02 LE Camry. Thanks.
Do you happen to still have this Camry?
Not exactly, I have another 2004 Camry SE. Why?
I was just wondering how the car was holding up, after all these years. Or if you did any more modifications to it.
Yellow vinil +500 jdm points
+sk flyer I'm thinking to change to yellow but how would that Match the gray car ?
speedkar99 usually yellow suits better in older cars, but it is inexpensive and you can rip it off at anytime. Also it will make an useful video btw...
After 20 years, a new light switch stalk is a reasonable maintenance expense. Might as well grab a spare starter while at the junkyard
no socks no toothbrush.....
baskoro tejo I know I was disappointed too
Speedkar doesn't need to be pidgeonheld to no bro!
Also he only uses his bro's stuff when theres grease involved hoho
+baskoro tejo toothbrush is only used where cleaning and pointing is required 😜
