Today we will talk about three important news. These news are related to tribal society. Especially from Santal tribal society. We will look at the political activities arising out of this. Anyway, the atmosphere of elections has already started. By-elections are going to be held in some assembly seats after two weeks. Then the process of assembly elections will start in many states. And by then the 2024 general election will come.
The first news that is making headlines these days is the recent report of the CAG in which three serious allegations of corruption have been leveled against the Modi government at the Centre. Opposition parties have started the attack. The matter pertains to the scam in the construction of Dwarka Expressway. There is a matter of the Transport Ministry of the Center, whose minister is Nitin Gadkari. In the CAG report, there is an allegation of raising an amount of 250 crores instead of the cost of 18 crores in the construction of Dwarka Express. The second case is about Ayushman Bharat, the flagship scheme of the Modi government. Where there is an allegation of scam worth crores in the name of lakhs of fake beneficiaries. The third allegation is coming out regarding the diversion of the amount of Ayodhya Development Project and Old Age Pension. It is alleged that the government spent that amount on its propaganda in an absolutely irregular manner.
You may remember that a decade ago, it was on the basis of the CAG report that the Manmohan Singh government of the UPA fell on the charge of 2G scam. And Modi ji came to power in 2014. The slogan was, neither will I eat nor will I let you eat. Now once again before the 2024 elections, the new report of the CAG is giving a chance to the opposition parties. However, today we will focus your attention on the present CAG instead of those scams.
CAG means Comptroller and Auditor General of India. You would know that Girish Chandra Murmu, the officer currently working as CAG i.e. Comptroller and Auditor General, is a Santali tribal. He is a 1985 batch Gujarat cadre officer. IAS Murmu was his Principal Secretary when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. During that time Amit Shah was also the Home Minister of Gujarat. IAS Murmu has also been Joint Secretary in his department. That is, it can be said that Murmu has a deep official association with Modi-Shah. Then, how suddenly CAG has turned against this Modi government?
The second news we will discuss is Babulal Marandi's 'Sankalp Yatra' which started from today. Former Chief Minister and currently Jharkhand BJP President Marandi has started his Sankalp Yatra today from Bhognadih in Santal Pargana, the birthplace of Sido Kanhu. What is the external and internal purpose of this visit?
The third incident on which we will talk briefly is the summons sent by the ED to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and CM Hemant retaliating on that summons.
