- Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder on Thursday said it was "likely" that former Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed when his plane crashed north of Moscow on Wednesday.
The spokesman said the Pentagon was continuing to assess the situation, but it had seen no evidence that a surface-to-air missile struck the jet of the mercenary leader who staged a short-lived rebellion against the Kremlin in late July.

He has to be careful what he says. He is giving the for public consumption statement but I agree he knows more than what he is saying. There are little snippets of intel. 10 people on the plane, 3 commanders including Sergei Surovikin who was head of their Air Force and Space Command who was also fired recently, three pilot and then Prighozin and two others listed on the manifest.

There was a jet aircraft following it when it was shot down, which possibly used air to air missiles.
There were at least 2 planes within range of an A2A attack, and one of their older missiles is IR guided, would hit an engine at knock the tail off without a large amount of explosive. The fuel igniting provides the second "boom" many reported hearing. The damage pattern of the wreckage follows this, and nobody has said there wanot ANY missile attack; they're only denying a S2A attack, which is correct.

From what I have seen of the leaked videos and pictures, it was not a bomb. it was struck with a S-300 or S-400 missile with the poof of smoke in one video and the missile scoring at damage from parts and debris shown on film. it was 100% short down by AA. common logic states Putin ordered Shoigu to do it and Shoigu did it. I am surprised Prigo lived as long as he did.
The real question is what took Putin so long? He seems to be getting indecisive.
I think any opinions we come up with now is only speculation. I feel that over the course of a few weeks. Enough information will come out to possibly prove what you’re saying.

The British experts interviewed on Sky news say missile. As one of them pointed out, Prigozhin would have had his jet searched for bombs, with all the enemies he had.
Yep, my thoughts too. You will find just about everyone saying there is no evidence of a surface-to-air missile, and I agree. Their SAM's are radar-guided and fragment in front of a plane; even the wreckage doesn't show that kind of damage. What we do see us some frag damage where the tail separated, and that fits perfectly with their older IR guided air-to-air missiles behavior. And I notice that nobody is ruling our an air-to=-air missile, only a surface-to-air.
They were shot down by a plane and there were at least two other panes near enough to have successfully launched such an attack. And there's nobody denying this, which is what leads me to believe it's true. Our military and intelligence are not goi9ng to tell what they know and give away our capabilities. They're only going to confirm what is publicly known. Prig's plane was always guarded by his own most trusted men, one or two of which were also on that6 plane, so they would not have been there knowing a bomb was on board.
But the official end result will be "bombed by person or person's unknown" and whatever evidence is needed to support that will be put where it is needed ASAP. After the final report is given whatever evidence of anything there is left will disappear. That's how things are done in Russia...
