    I feel like it was a genuine conversation... I mean even on this show the ladies have talked about everything and anything regarding their personal lives and they’ve had moments where they “ forget the cameras are there” so I’m sure they can relate ! And they had Mo’nique on the show TWICE to “ settle things and guess what ? They’re adults... they can have a conversation , talk it out , and move on ! There’s no beef or animosity or nothing !

    I feel like the conversation was needed and that it definitely needed to be aired, whereas some feel like its a conversation that shouldn't have happened on TV.
    I agree with what Steve said and how he said it. Some people out in the world needed to hear that conversation and Mo needed it as well. I don't think he needed to change anything in how he delivered his message, hopefully she understood what he meant and she took the important points away.

    • @JohnneseP
      @JohnneseP Před 5 lety +3

      @twistedblktrekie what does gender have to do with anything? Black women starting a movement that black men did not isn’t pathetic. Maybe you need to look beyond gender and look at the cause. Who cares if a man or female starts a movement that is about the lives of our community.
      Secondly Colin Kaepernick stood up for a cause, and he didn’t want to stay silent any more. WHO THE HELL CARES IF HE IS MIXED and was raised by a white woman... no one. He started a movement that is recognized all over the states and talked about. He might be mixed, but guess what when he walks down the street he is seen as a BLACK MAN.
      You need to wake up and smell the roses, because there is nothing wrong with a mix person starting a movement. Just because a “full” black man didn’t start the movement for OUR community doesn’t diminish what he started.
      Change your mentality because everything isn’t always about black and white. If you really think everything is the “white man’s” fault then I’m sorry to say you are stuck. Times have changed and everything that happens to our community isn’t their fault. Yes we still have to push for some more equality but at the end of the day, YOU have to work towards that.

    • @JohnneseP
      @JohnneseP Před 5 lety

      @twistedblktrekie Yes men have an economical advantage over women, but does it really matter when a group of black females decided to start a movement that supported our community... no. Men from other communities do protect their communities, but again that has nothing to do with why blacken don't stand up to support their own community.
      I agree black people and white people are not treated the same, just like men and women are not treated the same.
      In regards to your comment about how mixed individuals and "full black" individuals get treated differently, it is true but that's where colorism steps in. If you go back in your family line almost everyone has something in them else in them and we are not fully just one thing.

    • @JohnneseP
      @JohnneseP Před 5 lety +1

      @twistedblktrekie I am aware of the "one drop rule", but again when will we as a black community stop blaming everything on the "white man" and what was done to us as a community in the past. We can't group together the whites from the past and the whites of today. Obviously we as a black community are not the same as the black community back then.
      Yes we need to stand up for equal pay in all areas, whether it be that industry or Corporate America.
      Black men and women need to stand up for EACH OTHER and not just one gender stand up for themselves.
      Also you have to look at the way you present things, you can want action all you like, but at the end of the day you can't go about things in a rude fashion and respect change,

    • @JohnneseP
      @JohnneseP Před 5 lety +1

      @twistedblktrekie I understand what you have said.
      I am also a product of a predominately white school, so I can say my education is way better then it is from the inner city schools where I'm from. Economically blacks are sometimes put in a disadvantage then our other counterparts, and it does drawl back to educational status. Yes majority of blacks have to pick low-paying jobs to make ends meet, but at the same time it is also important not to let your circumstances hold you back.
      As for black men leaving our communities I totally understand your point, and like you said that's a whole topic that could be dived into.
      At the end of the day I think we as a community need to work together to change the way our community is viewed and also how we go about things. I'm a firm believer that if we work hard and put effort into something, and continuously try to make a change eventually that change will be seen, it might not be seen today or tomorrow but it will in the end.

    • @JohnneseP
      @JohnneseP Před 5 lety

      @twistedblktrekie I agree that some black men need to stand up, but there are some that are and they aren’t getting recognized for it.
      Now what I am going to disagree on is how you are using the word “they” you’re generalizing a group of people. Every white person isn’t against black people. One (or a few) bad apple doesn’t ruin the whole bunch, in saying that the racist of the world do not ruin the white people that support blacks.
      Violence doesn’t get change, you cannot get your points across if you choose violence to make a statement

    In my opinion Monique doesn't have the best way to handle things. She was not wrong but like killer Mike said it's about compromise . I think what Steve was trying to say is that sometimes you have to compromise in order to be in a position of power in the long run especially as a black person . I'm sure Beyonce Tyler Perry P. Diddy or even Oprah had to do some things they didn't approve. But now they are poweful enough and they can help and impact their own communities. After all of those years does Monique really have a position of power where she can help or hire us ?she is talented and I'm glad she has her own residency but she could have done even more if she had played "the game" without necessarily loosing her integrety or soul imo. 🤷‍♀️

However in this video he's basically telling her that she shouldn't speak her mind on certain things, and she cant be too much of her true self, and in my opinion that's just not ok. Monique is speaking from a place of change which is bold, and Steve is speaking from self motivated success. How can anyone tell the world that money is more valuable than integrity??? I feel like the people that say the convo shouldn’t be answered are the same kind of people that sit around pushing stuff under the rug. The kind of people that always wish for a solution but never search for one then criticize possible solutions other people find. Not everything has to be quiet. How come Monique can throw all this people under the bus in public but when it comes back on her, oh you should have called me in private? You want more respect but aren’t willing to give any. Now, if this conversation should have been done in private then so should the conversations between Monique and Tyler, Monique and Oprah, and Monique and Lee. Period. Can’t have it one way and not the other.

    Steve was putting Monique on to some game. He knows how to see the snakes, and keep it moving, bite his tongue and make money moves so that he could be in the position he's in now. He's a MOGUL in the making. He has a show on almost every major network and in syndication. He is in a position to shift the culture of Hollywood because now he's in a position of POWER. That's not a lack of integrity, that's WISDOM. He now moves in circles with other people of power and integrity in Hollywood, he's a job creator and motivator. Monique has the fire and capacity to do the same thing. She needed to listen.

    And Adrienne is still trying to malign Mo’Nique’s character whenever she thinks that someone (that someone being Killer Mike on this occasion) is saying what she’s saying about Mo’Nique.
    She didn’t have the guts to say it when Mo’Nique confronted her about it on the show, and actually said she didn’t mean it concerning Mo’Nique but meant it about “people in general” as if they all weren’t discussing Mo’Nique when she said it...
    ...completely and utterly fake and phoney. Adrienne has identity issues, and doesn’t like black women truly because deep down she hates that black women are black because she wishes she was one - and sadly, it goes even deeper than that.
    Evident also in the way she was about Tamar, and how she started getting loud after Tamar was no longer on the show - Adrienne can’t pretend to be black with when she has real black women on the show who’ll call her out on her act, and she despises that...very unfortunate.

      @@AButterflyinChrist What I believe he's trying to say is that when we were "segregated" we were more "black conscious" however may have you. We had no one but our own. Now I believe, that we are "somewhat integrated", we as a people, I feel like, took that opportunity (everything that comes with the package of being integrated) and now we've forgot where we came from. I looked at it like this, say a child grows up eating healthy and all he/she knows is a healthful lifestyle. Now say this child in their teenage years has been given the opportunity to indulge in unhealthy foods, take fast food or processed foods in general and now they've become addicted because this is like no other that they've experienced and now, this is all they want. As they get older they slip out of that healthy lifestyle they grew up knowing and now as they get older into adulthood, they have health complications. This looong analogy lol is how I see it with our people. We've forgotten where we came from. I mean there was always problems within the Black community but it has gotten worse over the years. However, just believe we were MORE united than we are today. Now it's a black man for himself, sad but true.
      Sorry for the long explanation. 😋

    Yall spent this whole segment defending Steve Harvey's comments but never once acknowledged the fact that Monique was the one being chastised for choosing to live her career the way SHE WANTS! While Steve Harvey made some valid points, he did so by attempting to prove Monique wrong, and THAT is unacceptable. The same way he gets respect for living his life under these less than integral morals, she needs to get respect for how she decides to live within her own career. There is no ONE WAY to do things. Monique was right for standing her ground because shes still working, and thriving WHILE staying true to her beliefs and fighting for her people. Steve Harvey is RIGHT for living his life how he wants, but He is WRONG for trying to get her to dissolve her core values just to be able to make MORE money.

    The problem is they all agreed in private but wouldn’t say it publicly and even i a regular person in society would be feeling a certain way Steve barely even let her speak talking loud over her i was cringing during the whole exchange just shameful the whole situation

    100% agree. Also, There is nothing you can tell people who in their minds are never wrong. They should have spoke. Privately as friends. Even the older generation is doing EVERYTHING for publicity now. It's sad.

    Replace Tamara with him now. I do like Tamara but I always feel like she is always scared to give her opinion on race topics, everyone looks to loni for the black opinion. To have 2 strong black people giving their opinion up there and anyone who shuts jeannie Mai up I am with...yes killer mike.

      Tamara is mixed but she has expressed many times on the show that she identifies and has described herself many times as a black woman. So I expect any woman with that claim to not shy away from giving her opinion.

      How disrespectful...not all black people are domineering. Not all black people are hood. I’m glad not all black people are the same because some of y’all are annoying lol coming from a black woman who loves black people. I am like Tamera in my views and upbringing so I like to see my type of “black” represented as well. It’s not all a struggle story or point of view for us although we all still go through similar struggles. It let’s America know not all black People are the same and think the same. Some of my black friends that are close minded hate accepting that fact. They just always want to control the narrative on how a black person should be based on their limited experiences. It’s annoying for real. Being louder doesn’t make you right lol. Yes both my parents are black-Nigerian to be exact, so it does not have to do with her being mixed 😂. I also love that she is a real Christian...Please keep my girl Tamera 💪🏾

    If you watch Steve’s show you’ll know that that’s how he talks. To everyone. I don’t see the issue here. Also I understand exactly what he was saying. Everyone wants to walk on egg shells on these talk shows.

  • @gleamingold4169

    DL and Steve ain’t NO uncles of mine. And Steve is a grown man who has been hosting and speaking on large platforms (as his job) for yearssss. He knew exactly what he was saying. He wanted to be seen as publicly scolding Mo’ on some “I’m not like these negros” bs. All to appease his own interests. He just didn’t expect the backlash from the Black community to be so swift and strong. I wish y’all would stop making excuses for these men who wouldn’t blink in your direction, if it was you.
