sexuality can be fluid, explore as you please. don’t be afraid to delve into parts of yourself that you never have before. for me personally, i started thinking i could be bi in 8th grade (i’ll be 17 this year). now there’s always been signs throughout my life but i wasn’t always open minded and didn’t know of labels. however, in the last couple of months i’ve decided to look more into that side of myself and make sure that’s truly right. so i started watching wlw (women loving women) tiktok compilations on youtube. it’s truly helped a lot and made me realize that i’m definitely not straight and can see myself being happy with a girl.
so you could try doing something like that maybe. or take quizzes, read things, read others experiences, whatever works. just don’t feel ashamed or be afraid. and talking to people always helps! yk, people who are either going through the same thing or already have.
also, it can be hard, but don’t feel pressured to choose a label. labels hardly mean anything, some just feel nice. sometimes saying i’m queer feels more right than saying i’m bi. just def not straight. you can always say you’re unlabeled. for me personally, saying you’re unlabeled can take of the pressure of feeling like you have to actively be doing shit to figure out who you are. it’s like, you’re just going with the flow. you know you’re attracted to these things but you’re still learning and no label feels entirely right just yet. bc with labels, it’s not necessarily how much you fit into them, it’s how comfortable you are with them.
a woman could only be with women romantically and sexually, but that doesn’t mean she has to say she’s a lesbian. in fact there’s many sub-labels, i guess you could say. like bi-romantic (romantically attracted to more than one gender, whether you’ve been with more than one sexually or not).
i hope bringing up these labels doesn’t make you feel overwhelmed, i’m just trying to say that there’s a spectrum out there and it’s really all about being open to learn more about yourself, and part of that is seeing how fit into things whether you wanna call yourself something or not.
Questioning your sexuality is super normal no matter how set you were in it before. What we are attracted to can change and there so many pieces to attraction that sometimes it can be hard to pinpoint where the attraction is even coming from. I would challenge you to think about what made you attracted to her. Was it a physical, sexual, romantic, or comedic attraction? or were you enjoying her energy? You can start exploring that by asking yourself “was I attracted to her before i got a sense of her energy?” If the answer is no, you might have been more drawn to her energy. Then from there, you can figure out what it means for you to be attracted to someone’s energy compared to their gender/gender expression and what’s most important to you.
I’m straight but every so often I meet a woman with that confident, strong, kind, sensitive yet masculine swagger that makes me question my straightness. After years of confusingly processing it, I have learned that I am definitely not attracted to women but I am very attracted to energy which is why I get confused by some women. Now when I meet a woman with that energy, I know I’m not attracted to her specifically I’m just attracted to her energy. I feel comfortable telling myself “if I was attracted to girls I’d be into her but I’m not. I’d be all over a male version of her though”
