- "Soft Rot of Ginger commonly called as Koleroga is caused by Pythium aphenidermatum. This Fungus is soil borne and can survive in soil for many years. Phythium produces Oospores and Chlamydospore which are called as resting spores helps to survive in soil for many years.
Koleroga has to be managed by taking precautionary measures starting from Rhizome treatment and better practices like Trichoderma application to soil.
