I love Vince and Breaking Bad is a masterpiece, but it's sad to see Peter Gould not getting the credit he deserves. It's been made clear multiple times that the writing and direction of Better Call Saul has a lot more to do with Peter than Vince, especially in the later seasons. He has delivered phenomenal television year after year, and it has surpassed Breaking Bad in my opinion. Peter is doing an excellent job.

@@kpman644 To each their own, but I think Better Call Saul has done a lot of things just as well as Breaking Bad, and some even better. Jimmy is a deeper and more nuanced character than Walt, the show is visually stunning and has many more beautiful frames/shots than Breaking Bad, and I prefer the slower pace of the show that leads to incredible payoffs.

If you don't mind, I'm going to attach your post as an addendum to my BCS DOUBTERS FILE of non-believers who scoffed at the idea of a BrBa prequel, predicting it's failure and calling it nothing but a "cash grab" - just to show how absolutely wrong they were.
Mary Ellen McElveney I cant believe people are calling this masterpiece of a show a “cash grab”. This is ultimately the opposite, not only is the cinematography beautiful in almost every shot, but the characters are so eccentric and relatable I don’t know how else to develop any film or tv show. I honestly adore this show more than BB.

I still cannot believe how amazing 'Better Call Saul' is.
Remember hearing BB was getting a spinoff. When I heard it was Saul's origin, thought there's enough lawyer shows do another character. Now this is my favorite show. As much as I want Jimmy to turn into Saul, I don't want it to end.

I love Saul Goodman for one and only one reason: because he is ill treated by his brother who is his only family, he suffers out of it, (And because he tries again and again to get love from his brother) and that's why he becomes a border line personality.
I love his borderline traits, because they are like mine. All those who do not acces to the emotions of self-compassion and self-empathy, (because they have been morally abused as a child) will extremely love Saul Goodman, because through him, they can feel the very needed compassion and empathy they lack.

We are (finally) into and loving BCS after a failed first viewing attempt, binge watching and immediately rewatching episodes because the drama is just that good.
I've never been so hyped for something as well as so preemptively anxious and saddened as I am to watch Kim Wexler's heart be torn asunder in gritty, high definition, Vince Gilligan detail.
Kim is gonna be pawn the cartel uses to keep Saul in line.
I picture him treating her like crap (with the plan that she ends their relationship and moves away) as a way to save her.

Speaking of Nacho, I’m rewatching BB right now and just finished my third rewatch of the BCS episode. When Jesse and Walt have ski masks on and drag him out to the pit at night, one of the things he screams is something like “Ignacio, is this about...!” And of course I recalled the character from BCS.

I LOVE Better Call Saul! I actually watched Better Call Saul first and some things I didn’t understand like the flash forwards at the time but then I watched Breaking Bad and then rewatched Better Call Saul and that made it so much more interesting. Bob Odenkirk deserves an Emmy!

I remember old panel discussions where Bob said he thought Saul was amazing and he loved the character. Now he’s saying he doesn’t like him. It’s interesting to see him change his view over the years. I’m guessing something happens in season 5, because Saul isn’t completely unlikable yet; in my opinion.

The movie: "El Camino" (on Netflix now) is explaining some things, like a last episode of BB should... Just ignore Jesse blowing on a gas lighter to put it out and Todd's weight. It is an amazing universe. Can't wait for the s5 of better call Saul.

Bod Odenkirk shining and thriving on Better Call Saul very painstaking cast with very intense and deep characters like Kim (a remarkable woman in every sense) we will be impressed by the following and last blasts of this incredible end of decade
What is there to say. Breaking Bad is the best show ever made and Better Call Saul equally good, just less violent and more focused on one character.
Somehow I'm happy that Game of Thrones didn't manage to dethrone the Breaking Bad Universe as it is basically a fantasy tale of knights and dragons while this is rooted far more in today's problems of the society we live in.
If you think about it, the thing that makes BB and BCS actually addicting is how well it would fit in reality. There is no sensationalism in the show, no constant adrenalin pushes, no hysteria and over the top badass gangster style, it's just plain, tame. Yes there are moments when action is going on but most of the show is about getting to this point. Details matter, small things, just like in real life.
That's why it is that much better than the usual "Heroes and Foes" stuff

What i like about the show is that nobody can tell for certain this is the moment where Jimmy becomes Saul or this is the reason for this event to happen like with Walter White you cant just point when exactly he becameHeisenberg .You cant really quite tell why he broke bad. You can ofc to some degree from what we saw on the show but there's more to it that we wont be able to see ever. And thats how it is in real life.. Theres no problem on earth that just has one solution to it. Every problem has layers and layers of foundation you just cannot ever get to. And theres always a bit of a mistery. And i like that. I'd love to see such type of ending for Gene.
For all those mentioning about season 4 and Netflix, just purchase and download the season from CZcams or Amazon. It isn’t expensive, and it’s worth it. I enjoyed the character Werner from season 4.

However you could just change the DNS server to make whatever your watching netflix on think your in the UK, then problem solved. I used to do it all the time to watch stuff that is only on the US netflix.

Call Saul is a great series and I had all the patience in the world after how well written and made breaking bad was, it was a case of "can they do it again' and they did and to a level that meant more patience than breaking bad and it worked again brilliantly and I just hope the movie will be as good if it's a one off film, because of the way the series was made can they do it in that way as they are so used to making TV shows and not films so I do hope it works as this is one of the few shows I have watched start to finish without thinking this is going nowhere or its run its course and it has not got to a point where it's jumping the shark after something like 10 straight series of one or the other I think the 5 season mark will be enough like breaking bad and people thought that was finished after the fourth. season but season 5 was great so please do the right thing and let us remember how great these shows and this film are and not, oh no they are milking it by making a few more movies, but judging by how long it is taking to get the new season of call Saul it seems they are making another great series and not hurrying it again like breaking bad so I have high hopes for the 5th season and just hope the movie is good and does it justice.
Well with the prologue movie about Jesse set to be released on Netflix in October at least we know why this next season took so long to create.
