I guess that the moment when Dokkan released not long, the awaken coin event was too hard. So the changing animation made excitement to player. You have to know that not everyone can beat that stage for easy.

And by the time category leads dfe came out, dfe event were no longer any challenge. Sure some may still catch you on release if unlucky (like Teq VB, Agl 13..etc)
What they did with zarbon I'll never understand, the only logical possibility I can think of is that somewhere along the development of the unit they were supposed to be an LR that used that pre awakened animation somewhere in the final animation, they discarded that whole idea and made a shitty new animation for the new unit, but it's still kinda weird
LITERALLY, I was so hyped for Zarbon, I’m not a particularly big fan of him but the unit just seemed super cool and then boom dodoria shits all over it
