I never understood one thing for two reasons.
1st Showing up at the coldest looking, barren, windy rocks they call The Iron Islands.
2nd When his Dad and Sister are immediatly TERRIBLE to him.
Why didnt he do an immediate about face and eff off back to Rob? I mean his dad was probably the exact same way to him before he was a prisoner at Winterfell. What fond memories or hopeful feelings could he possibly have that would be strong enough to make him stay?
The fact that they can make you feel sorry for people that have made such vile things such as Jaime and Theon really speaks to the writing
Spoiler or I go off in the next episode about how I actually don’t feel much for the characters because they are so terrible

From what I have learned about Jack Gleeson, the actor who plays Joffrey, he is a man of high character. My drama coach taught me that the hardest roles to play are villians, because it goes against our human nature to be liked. So his acting in GoT is especially amazing, and he was so young when he did it.
Jack actually modeled Joffrey, a lot of his attitude and mannerisms after Joaquin Phoenix's performance in Gladiator, Commodus. If you watch Gladiator or have seen it, you can see much of Joffrey in Commodus.
And Jack Gleeson is such a sweetheart in real life ❤
@@emmanx011he really is. It breaks my heart how much hate he got when the show was over. Same with Lena Heady (Cersei). She tells a really sad story about when she was giving birth to her daughter, and the nurses who were helping her breastfeed giggled and said, “shame, shame”.
@@whatsmandisayingI've heard similar reports of harrassment, discordance and even outright physical threats towards this young man. He decided not to continue acting after this role.....wtf.
He was literally so good at his job some people forgot the distinction between acting and reality.
Is this where we are as a civilisation?... A great young man on a television show somehow triggered so much memorial hate upon his appearance alone that some completely forgot. He's not actually an evil boy king from a fantasy book...
That makes a LOT of sense. As soon as I read that several different people popped into my head. Every one of them, now that I'm thinking of it, I really disliked before I liked them. Because they played the bad guy so well and it was the first role I saw them in.

Dany in Astapor is one of the best scenes adapted from the books. When you’re reading from her perspective, it’s obvious the entire time that she understands. It was cool to make it a surprise.

I mean.. Dany's eyes in the show told you she understood everything. How she looked at the man and talked to him.
I even like it better in the show.
A reverse thing occured with Barristan Selmy. You read a lot of the books until is revealed who he really is. For the show was kind hard to hide him, they didnt even tried

The hint that Danny knew what the guy was saying the whole time was given away when she has a conservation with Misandei, She says Valar Morgulis which is a Valaryan word and Danny instantly knows what it means and even she realises it hence her smile.

One of my favorite moments with Dany throughout the whole series! She is coming into her prime, she is learning and growing. She is gaining confidence, and in turn her people have grown confidence in her as well. Keep in mind, in the books she’s still a teenager, probably 16 or 17 here. In the books she starts out as a 13 year old girl. HBO had to age her up of course because of sex scenes and nudity. So she is wise beyond her years, but also having “dragons dreams” throughout her journey in the books.
Yeah, at this moment in the books I believe she was 14? Maybe, in the show, at least for me, she is still under 20’s, which for me, is still very young and impressive how can she archive so much on such an young age.
In case no one answered your question, the world is just referred to as the world or the known world. The continents do have names though: Westeros, Essos, Sothoryos, and Ulthos. We only see storylines from Westeros and Essos, but George came up with a lot of lore and myths for Sothoryos while not much is known about Ulthos.
In the books the world is just kinda referred to as the known world, but fans affectionately have dubbed it Planetos lol.

The Tyrells are opportunists, always wiggling their way into power for themselves but they do it using charm, manipulation, and kindness rather than intimidation and fear, like the Lannisters. Their plan to marry Sansa to Loras would not only give them the North, but it would also give Sansa a safe haven at Highgarden being married to Loras. Although he wouldn’t be into her like she is, he doesn’t seem like a bad person at all. None of the Tyrells do since they don’t seem heavy handed like the Lannisters. So I think Loras would treat Sansa well enough and once she figures out his preferences, she’d probably just take a lover of her own and Loras would understand once they have an heir or two. Margaery is manipulative but I believe she genuinely wants to be friends with Sansa since she’s kinda giving her a way out of the abuse she’s in while also gaining power for herself and her house.

Blackfish's name is Brynden Tully, the Mrs asked about that. Episode is one of my favorites because of Dany at the end. It was awesome seeing the look on the slavers face when Dany spoke Valyrian, she knew all the crude comments he made about her the whole time. Valyrian is a common language in Essos because a couple of the cities over there were under the influence back in the day of the Valyrian Freehold. And you see how dangerous Varys is, he bide his time in finally capturing the person who maimed him as a young boy. Varys and Little Finger are very dangerous people. I mentioned at the beginning of your journey in GoT that people you may hate at the beginning you may start to change your feelings for later on. Jamie is one of those people, he has an interesting story arc. He's been knocked off his high horse by losing his hand. He is was one of the best swordsmen there is and now without his sword hand, he's just like any other person out there. And Theon's "capturer" well... a very interesting person, speak more on him after the next episode 😉
Unpopular opinion, but I really like Little Finger's character. What Varys says is true, he's one of the most dangerous men in all of Westeros because of how well he can scheme and manipulate. I think almost everyone in Westeros underestimates him. He came from nothing and worked his way up using his social skills.

The rock music at the end of 3x3 is called "The Bear and the Maiden Fair". It's a rock version of the song the Bolton (I think) army was singing in the woods. I thought the original was so catchy I tried looking it up but couldn't find a studio recording of anything but the rock version played during the credits.

In the book when Brienne tells Jaime (this was on horse back) that Tarth was called the Sapphire Island due to the blue waters, Jaime said something like, do you want to say that a little louder? I don't think they heard you....

Here's my book comment. Edd is my favorite side character in the books. He is called Dolorous Edd and he reminds me of Eeyore because of his personality. During the part that they are burning the bodies, Sam is thinking how tasty they smell because they are all starving. And his thoughts are disgusting himself. And Edd tells Sam that he hopes Sam doesn't die because he bets he'll smell like cracklin and Edd wouldn't be able to resist eating him 😂 It always cracks me up.
Beric Dondarian is who Ned sent off to hunt down The Mountain. Beric had 2 eyes then.

The actor who plays Jamie broke a rib when his captor kicked him in the mud. There was a pad he was supposed to kick but he couldn't see it with all the mud.

I'm really enjoying your reaction videos. I read all the books and saw the shows when they came out. Since there are 8 seasons there will be many more surprises, you are about 180 degrees off on your predictions.
Jamie didn't just loose his hand, if you recall he says he would've been useless if he wasn't a Swordsman so he lost his whole identity and his personality. You'll see his different side of Jamie now that he'll have to face the consequences of his actions
I like Margery. Her actions are self serving but most of them are decent actions. She genuinely wants for good things. It just so happens that she also wants power, but with power she would do good so if I had to choose someone to gain power I suppose it would be her.
What I love about this show is the characters are gray to the bone. Fans hated Theon and Jaime in the first two seasons, but they feel empathy for them later on.
As deplorable as craster was, he still has helped the nightswatch time and again from freezing and starving when they've had problems ranging in the North over many, many years.
This is their home; not just his home but all those women & children too.
They work hard all year to raise livestock, garden, gather, dry, can, etc. to have food & goods for survival and to put away enough for the winter.
Then, to have a bunch of men show up and steal it all is not right.
They can't take advantage and eat everything that he has just because there's a whole bunch of them.
Craster was an awful man, and he deserved his fate , but the women did not deserve to have their hold fast invaded, nor did the Lord commander deserve mutiny.
'Deserve' has no place in GoT. :)

For me, the best part of that last scene where Daenarys gets the Unsullied is that an episode earlier Jorah and Selmy gave her what seemed like opposing council regarding them. In the end, she actually did both things for a result they didn't see coming.

A cool side note on House Tully. Three of Catelyn and Blackfish's ancestors are named Grover, Oscar, and Kermit. It was George R.R. Martin's way of paying homage to Jim Henson and his Muppets.
