If your partner cheats while dating, most likely they grew up watching people who cheat and they have been trained to have that behavior or they have a lust issue. Speak to them to see if this is a behavior they want help with which means they are okay with accountability, counseling, and prayer. Nearly 5 years into a toxic relationship and we finally had the conversation that his family grew up explosive and cool the next minute. I grew up with space to calm down then a calm talk. He always called me soft or sensitive and always tried to bait me into argument because to him, being explosive was showing passion, and passion equaled love. Because I’m such a calm person naturally, everyday was just full of him trying his best to stress and anger me to see any “passion”. I ended up with severe depression because of it. Our families were brought up differently in many fundamental ways, and now we have to navigate coparenting. With that being said, a love and respect for God has to be the glue that can bring together two people from very different backgrounds. Neither of us had a love for God during that time, but since I have developed a good relationship with Him and found coaches like this, I am positive I can have a marriage anointed by Him.
