- A man from Chester said his SNAP benefits, sometimes referred to as food stamps, were stolen and now he said he has no idea how he's going to put food on the table.
SNAP should be to help working families. US Citizens
Minimum Wage is NOT enough
Learn some actual skills that are useful. Good paying jobs are a real thing. Sick of all the complaining.
Minimum wage is not a forever job, it's to get skills and experience and some spending money so you can move up.
I can have .2 people just as talented going after that skilled job and it’s usually the ethnic person that is black balled or offered extremely less. Face reality. Or ur a part of the problem
What do u call it when u work some where for 10 years and ur title changes but ur pay don’t? What do u call it when a manager is only making 11 an hour??? I believe that’s what Mac Donald’s pay. If the manager is making 15 and that’s still not enough in Philadelphia in comparison to the rent is this really still a citizen issue? Let’s not even throw all the crime and the hoopla that comes with running after a slavery wage for so many years. The effects it has on a person and their family life.

Sad and shameful for people who are in need
This happened to me the Dominican and Arab stores are STEALING the money off your card when you use them at your store, and I couldn’t get my food stamps back, even though the store stole them from me and I made a police report. I was hungry and lived in a homeless shelter.
Now they are going to far, taken food from our babies mouth 😡 fix it Jesus fix it!! 🙏🏾
A lot of people getting beat up, when their dealer gets back from the grocery store.
They'll have to pull double shifts on the street corner
im 72 years old and retired lost my job to COVID pandemic I worked my entire life raised 4 kids as a single mom i really hope my $19 a month SNAP benefit dont get wiped out

It's really not the government's dime. It works like social security. You pay into the program via your income taxes, along with social security. Main difference is you don't need to wait until your a senior to receive the benefit, but you do need to prove you need it. When you no longer need it, your supposed to inform the local welfare office so they can close the case. Some don't and that's where all the nastiness towards people on welfare really comes from in my opinion.

How tf do you make too much money when you have no money? It only benefits “certain” people, and those who k ow how to work the system. It’s a load of crap, just like every government program

This just happened to me in NJ July 1, 2024. I am devasted and without food and on Social Security Retirment.
Alot of people on SNAP also receive a housing subsidy whereby they only have to pay like $20 for rent!
And then there’s others making 9 an hour paying 1200 a month that get snap benefits
There is now "wave card scanning" where card don't need a PIN, but if your card is lost or stolen, you need to cancel it quick.
No grown man should be getting food stamps period

Anyone in financial need can get food stamps. Many are also in financial need, especially single men. Maybe 5 to 8 Usd , depending on location and cost of living like NYC, per day added to debit card can reduce crime by half , saving society much more money by a low cost prevention. This would also pass funding to businesses in need. If dreamers can get cash for needs, so should citizens in need.
