so, dude iam watching through your episodes of North korea, but u tell every episode, u didnt expect "this". since iam from german and eng is not my nativ language excuse my bad grammar. i wanna ask u what did u expect from north korea and are u a U.S citizen? what is the us propaganda about north korea? iam asking because u can easyli get all these information about north korea when u search a little bit online. i wonder if there is not just a north korean side of fals information about us, but a us side of fals information about north korea aswell? thanks for the nice vids,(good work mate) i will watch on now, and gonna subscripe :D much love from germany
David Trost he’s obviously not American.
He is a Kiwi and you can catch that from his accent.
I think North Korea should center its tourism strategy as the place to detox from internet addiction.
Definitely a good angle!
Straight up, I think that'd actually work. I for one need to take a long break from it all but it's always there wherever you go.
Phones, TVs, other gadgets in general too. I'd love it if I could just have a whole month away from it all and just spend a trip swimming, hiking, bike riding etc. which oddly enough are all things you can do in NK without temptation since they don't have anything lol
Well, I'll take my mountain backpacking and ultrarunning trips instead! But hey whatever floats your boat!
and some human rights violations along the way!
no lol I'm too scared ill just go to my moms hometown in Mexico to detox
"In case I don't see you; good afternoon, good evening and good night."
You did it. You absolute madman.
he always says that in many countries.
And he is absolutely right to say that: These countries are dangerous...@@haithemali4769
It’s a reference from the movie “The Truman show”
LMAO I love how he kind of subtly recognizes what's going on like "HAYYY I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING ME"
"He did it! The son of a bitch did it!"
The stadium you saw isn’t just the largest stadium in North Korea, it’s the largest in the world! Really enjoy your series, keep it up’

It's like walking through a delicate display of priceless breakable stuff during a funeral
10:54 BMW that was unexpected.
You know how you stage a home to sell it? This all feels like that.
I give you a ton of credit. People don’t realize how dangerous it is for you there. I thank you mate. This is not just a vlog but a historical series of films. Fantastic! Cheers Nick!
Why would it be dangerous ?
@@thiccbaron Search for "Otto"
@@magic_claw he did vandalize that poster at the hotel, if you play by there rules i'm guessing you will be just fine.
@@thiccbaron It's unclear if he actually did. Definitely possible. That said, would you risk going to a place where the punishment is so disproportionate to the crime. Forget that, what happens if you fall sick on the tour? Your country does not have an embassy there. Who is coming?
Oh please. I don`t hear him ducking for cover from machine gun fire or treading carefully over landmines.
I'm very fascinated in knowing more about NORTH KOREA and your videos almost showed me everything. I watched a lot of videos about North Korea but they're always the same but your videos are totally different. Game Changer !!! KEEP UP !!! Cheers
Thanks so much ❤️
♥️♥️❤️
Been loving this series! It's nice seeing some of the rural areas for a change. Such a shame North Korea is the way it is. The scenery is amazing.
Glad you are enjoying it, thanks for watching!
@@IndigoTraveller Hey Nick! I hope Korean reunification happens in 2045.
Such is every communist state.
I have no idea how I stumbled across your videos but they are very well put together! Looking forward to the next part of your adventure :)
Thank you ❤️

I didn't even notice the footage was a little shaky until you mentioned it. You get some awesome shots. : )
Appreciate that! The shots I used were the pick of the litter, the others weren't so good. Cheers!
UNROOT ME lmao I read this comment as he mentions the shaky camera
Ha Ha too funny! : )
You're doing an amazing job with this vlog, NK really is something else. Thank you very much for showing us!
Shakey because like most would be scared to death. I don't care what anyone says when I look at that footage not one NK is smiling coming off the train or at the fun-fest.that would make anyones hands shake bad roads or not. +the way the farmer had a bull pulling his equipment when that commie f**k takes all the money and builds homes and hotels yet none of the NK people can stay in the hotels nor shop in the stores...kim is the worst leeader of all...he is the most selfish piece of shit on earth and for someone to make that country out to be a good place is a effing joke... The televisions there spew hateful old war propaganda and he convinces everyone in NK that the way they live is what it is like elsewhere... Ughhh Kim J needs to be shot by his own countries people and buried with the rest of his crew.
Your videos are fantastic. I understand we’re only seeing what you saw, but the video is about the tour and I appreciate that, I’m not here to judge the way the country is run, just to learn about your experiences, so thank you for that!
Appreciate that, thank you ❤️
Man these mountains are incredible!
Amazing videos and work, subbed directly !
Thank you so much ❤️
“Long hard day in North Korea”
People who work in labour camps:
Am I a joke to you?
Haha!!!
MUSTANG 5.0 haha I finally got the joke hahahahahaha
The harder he works the bigger they increase his portions of food. Man! They also get to go on the private most private tours.
I have just watched all 7 episodes of Indigo Traveller in one day, 4 years after it first appeared on You Tube. It is very well presented and reveals much of North Korea. I am surprised Indigo Traveller was able to reveal so many aspects of North Korea. North Korea has been known as the Hermit Kingdom in times past. I really appreciated the scenes of schoolgirls in their classroom. They were well dressed and I think they are being well educated. The scenery of North Korea is wonderful.
I recommend watching Alex Tienda's documentary on North Korea
I really like how you respect the honor and tradition of the places you visit.
Dude you totally belong in front of a camera! You are a natural imho.
Thanks Jeff
Gay
Certainly doesn't belong behind a camera, the camera work is terrible, and am not talking about the bits when he is in the bus.
Before watching the video Nick I just want to say how much I like your channel. I found you because of your first North Korea video and since then I've started watching all of your other videos and you've changed my mind on how expensive travelling is and how much more affordable it can be.
I'm from Canada and towards the end of summer I want to travel to Iceland for 2 weeks, I was just wondering do you often use airbnb for all your travelling accommodations and do you have any tips for finding the best priced flights, because I really want to find the best possible price for flying to Iceland.
Hey Dylan! That is cool to hear, enjoy your travels!
I was wondering if airbnb is your primary source for finding accommodation when you travel and if you have any tips for finding the cheapest flights?
Echoing Dylan's comments here :) found your channel through the North Korea series and I'm absolutely loving it!
Also Dylan, I pretty much use Air Bnb for all of my accommodation now days - it's proving super useful. Can find anything on there and also a great balance of affordability and comfort. As for flights I just use Skyscanner and try to book in advance as far as possible...I've heard weird ones like they're cheaper on Tuesdays? And I have this weird paranoia that if I keep checking a flight it'll boost the price(?!), so once I've seen the one I want I either book it there and then, or don't look again until I'm ready to book haha...hope that helps man
Josh Edwards clear your browser cookies. In case the website is tracking how much youre checking flights, they can increase it more.
SubieBoy yeah that's what I was trying to say haha, thank you 😁 i knew there was reasoning behind it, not just my paranoia!
Can’t stop watching this amazing series! I’m speechless. And I have to say it does make you think about what the media is telling us all.. thanks mate for sharing this
"Can never get enough of those guys" 😂

Please don’t get a North Korean haircut. It’s ugly.
I'll do a video on the expenses and logistics etc.
Hi friend, please visit my country indonesia, go to jakarta, bali, borobudur, komodo island etc. ❤
Really loving this North Korea series. Great video
Cheers!
This whole series is so crazy and it’s the first I’ve seen of your content. Keep it up!
Really impressive! ö
The last days I am addicted to your channel! Awesome videos, awesome adventures.
I'm jealous about your trips!
Keep doing the great work!
Cheers, Glenn! Thanks for your addiction! Haha :)
Its so amazing to see the culture diference, one of the things i like most in traveling is seing the people working and going on their day to day life, just fascinates me seing people like me that live totaly diferent lifes from mine.
The city with few people and few cars, empty beaches, unused resorts, phony stores and ubiquitous clunky political monuments and posters and many the citizens observed performing hard labor using preindustrial tools. Yet all the commenters (commenting using their electronic devices from their home of freedom and plenty) think it's wonderful. They wish they could go visit. Wow,
bogieboog: Thankyou for your excellent point! BTW Zero interest in visiting this shit hole.
Impressive videos man, I’ve enjoyed honestly every single minute of the entire series. I hope this series you’ve done gets big, cause you deserve every bit of it
Keep up the good work man I’m behind ya
One of the best videos on North Korea that I've ever seen on CZcams. Keep up with the great vids mate.
I’ve been enjoying your series on this travel trip! Very insightful thank you so much for your unfiltered portrayal.
I've been enjoying your videos a lot! You def put the hard work in, going to places that most of us will never see. I've been to many distant and far away places in the world, but you certainly have me beat! Cheers!
Love the series and I also love the Truman show at the end of the episode👍👍
Cheers mate!
It just keeps getting better!! Loving your series so much. And look at you, closing in on 150K. I feel like a proud mum, lol. I know you have a good one already, but I am proud. Can’t wait to see the haircut! 😃👍🏼✌🏼💗
I randomly found your channel a couple days ago and I'm really glad to found it. This video series is very interesting and exciting.
You are a very calm and inspirational person for me, keep it up!
Cheers from Germany!
I just can’t get over all the beautiful and epic scenery! I started with the first NK video, and It’s breathtaking
I love these vlogs
10:55 BMW in North Korea ??????
Black plate means military.
Imported from China, like everything foreign there
I honestly wait all week for these to come out. This is the content I look for on CZcams! Keep it up!
I'm loving this serie, amazing.
Great series can't wait until the next
looks like it attracted some bimmer drivers lol
The next might be in Afghanistan :S
Hi from a fellow Kiwi. I've spent around a month in North Korea in two separate trips. Was a surreal but ultimately entertaining and unforgettable experience.
Amazing stuff! Really eye opening content. Thanks for sharing, much love.
Precious video. Great job Nick. Enjoy your travel and stay safe.
I'm really enjoying this video series for some series! keep it up
Cheers! Glad you are loving it!
Dude you should travel around Ireland! It's quite fascinating and hella lot of history!
Enjoyed this episode, thanks for giving us a chance to see what you are seeing in N. Korea!
Incredible! Absolutely fantastic work & video footage, keep up the good work @Indigo Traveller! 👍
Love these videos, looking forward to watch more! ✌🏼
What an amazing trip you had! Thanks for vlogging it. Would never have thought you would get to stay in some of those hotels, or visit the places you did - beaches, mountains, factories, nor get the wonderful spread of food each time. Hardly a 'budget' trip! Would be fascinating to hear what a NK would have to say about the tourist experience. Maybe there'll be a youtube 'reaction' vid one day!
9:13 That's really like the shit happening in the Fallout games, out of nowhere, eerie, weird, strange and bizarre. All these things combined.
Yes! I was thinking the same thing, but didn’t comment on it because I didn’t think anyone would know what I was talking about.
What an amazing experience man, thanks for sharing this with us and keep up the good work!
Wow, these are surprisingly informative. Congrats and keep up the amazing work
I am aware that the guides are only showing the best parts about the DPRK, but how beautiful are the last two hotels you've stayed in? Just amazing, the attention to detail. In addition, with my ski jumping knowledge, I would say that that is a medium or regular hill, if you had the opportunity, check out places like Planica or Harrachov, to name a few, where they have giant hills of more than 200 meters.
I don't know what would people expect. WHY IN HELL would a tour guide show you the ugly side or a place/country? IF you went in America I don't think you would visit Detroit or who knows what miserable part of America. Doesn't every country have rural zones???
@@TheMelopeus the thing is in NK you're forced to have a tour guide, and it's common under communist/fascist regimes that you never hear bad news or ugly part of your country. In America, when i visited i never got a tour guide and I've seen the ugly and beautiful and was even told a rape/attack happen close to the hotel. in a regime state, I would've never heard of it or know how much crime happens. communist/facist regime builds on a lot of lies and deception. however, a communist/fascist regime isn't afraid to have blood on it hands.
Before asking question to the "Kim dynasty" , kindly give DPRK a fair chance by lifting sanctions from them and let's see whether they can go, forward or backward. It's the sanction that is the root of all evil for the people of DPRK.
Problem is, people who visited US never highlighter those "bad things" and it's the capitalist/imperialist scums have the most amount of blood in their hand. You think, hey my country have ugly side but why don't they. Because you are unable to think something different. Once you have assisted Hitler to make Nazi Germany militarily strong by giving him investment, soft loans and all other kind of assistance. And now, you are writing "communist/fascist", bloody blockhead.
Made by South Korea...past tourism
Been waiting for this episode. I'm so glad I found your channel! So refreshing
Appreciate that Laura!
9:50 that guitar solo tho
It’s beautiful! I have enjoyed and appreciated your video and commentary.
You're the cutest, I'm glad you got back safe
amazing work
Great content Indigo Traveller! I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago and you make really qualitative travel vlogs. Love the editing! 10/10 👍 you've gained a new subscriber. keep up the good work
Have been curious about the ski resort for a while, so thank you for this :)
Yo!!! I'm early!
Enjoying your video. Keep it up😉
Nice one!
I've been an expat in south-west Japan for just over 23 years, and all they show on TV here, as pretty much everywhere, is how evil and dark North Korea is. But these videos are eye-opening and bringing a view of NK we'd never normally get to see. The people for the most part, although suspicious of foreigners, seem friendly enough. One can only hope that one day NK will be free again and part of the global community.
Its an amazing country despite the brutal regime.
Really looking forward to the next video. Was hoping you'd be going to the dmz.
Loving this series once again :)
Thank you!
It's like one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen. Look at the pristine blue sea (before reaching beach) - that was one of the best seas I have seen. The climate also looked good.
It's almost a shame that the actual citizens of that country aren't legally allowed to enjoy the beauty of their own homeland. So glad you documented your "amazing" trip while the people that live there every day are afraid for their lives. Great vlogs!
It IS a shame lol
Shut up Karen
Did you ever wondered to visit Russia? You know, there's also a lot of talks about danger, rude mentality, anti-american attitude and sort of it, but there's a lot of things changed in last several years and as long as you've visited so much countries, gained so much experience, I'm interested in your opinion.
Found your channel from your first NK video and loved the editing, content, and your personality. Keep up the great work!
When I first ran across this channel (Uzbekistan vlog) I thought you were a big hit already because your videos were so professional and it was high quality content (something you don’t see very often anymore) but when I saw the subscribers and views I immediately thought you were very underrated. I believe this channel will grow because I see a lot of Potential with you and this channel and hey who know’s you could become the Anthony Bourdain of CZcams lol. And also you try to interact with your fanbase and are very kind to them (which is also kinda rare on CZcams) and I really appreciate that. Best of wishes!
Thank you so much for these videos! Notifications are always on :)
Thank you ❤️
I have just found your channel. Your videos are amazing and inspire me so much. I would love to be able to have a travelling channel. Amazing stuff!
Thanks Alice!
Amazing videos! Thank you so much for sharing this experience... Even though I realize it's a skewed view of the entire country there's so much good here to be seen, food, accommodations, talent, beauty, clean, orderly and respectful. All the best...
Thanks mate!
Great! Have been waiting a week for this episode, excellent videos. Decided to look at some previous videos from Kazakhstan and Nepal. Keep up the great work mate.
Hi good video. Great info.
I find North Korea to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I mean that architecture wise. Obviously what you see in Pyongyang is heavily staged etc. However if that awful regime ever gets broken and welfare spreads throughout the country, it could be one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Nonetheless, good video as always, I really enjoy this series.
Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective :)
And the West should stop putting those sanctions and make them trade freely for development and invest in them.
The problem is that investing into North Korea right now will only fund the regime. There needs to be progress surrounding the leaders or you're just investing in more military instead of the people who need it.
Rev you can invest in a lot of things. First stop the sanctions, you cannot agree to starve the whole country just coz it will benifit its leader. Investment can be done on the condition that it reaches the people. Anywhere in the world those in power always benifits so its hypocritical to single out NK. In the US, 50% of taxes go to defence spending.
My point is that the regime will let the population starve regardless of outside investment. They don't seem to care about them whatsoever.
Another Great Vlog Nick..I've got used to your camera work & am really enjoying this series..keep up the good work mate!
Love your vids Nick!💖💖💖 Thanks keep it up and I always tell my friends to watch your videos! - Love from the US
Great series. I hope he does a cost analysis at the end of the series.
I will!
Indigo Traveller Right on!
Stay safe bro.
Wonderful videos as always. So refreshing. Very well done.
It’s crazy how peaceful a city that intense can be...
You're the best man. Indigo Traveler!
mate I was waiting for this
Thank you for waiting!
Even the General Marshal commented on his bumpy ride from Pyongyang to the DMZ for his recent meeting with Moon.
This Ski resort is very busy with people from the capital every winter. Another great video Nick.
THAT is the most breathtaking beach I have ever seen in my entire life~
love this series! what a gift you are giving to us, thank you!
Thanks mate!
When I saw the snacks you were given on the fairy I couldn’t help but get so mad that there are people who have to find the time to catch insects to eat that day, and they’re giving the tourists free snacks just like that, to show opulence… it’s enraging!
Also, imagine the fact that every person you saw that day was probably starving and the people who served you the food had to be terrified not to stare at your food…
I grew up with an abusive mom and she’d deprive me of good food and cool toys, but she would buy them for my friends whenever we went to visit them, and she would make me present it to them… I can’t help but channel that feeling whenever someone serves you the abundant food while being so goddamn hungry…
(BTW, when I grew up I made sure to remain generous and give people gifts and good food, but I would ALWAYS buy something for myself as well, so that I never feel like I’m not getting what I wanted).
He doesn't seem to realize (or at least want to explicitly admit) how much all of it is just a front, and that it's specifically only for presentation to foreign visitors.
You deserve so many more subscribers , another great video and editing was so good keep it up !
I like your off the beaten path mentality. Makes your content more interesting and fresh. I have especially enjoyed your videos from India and also these ones. Keep doing what you're doing and putting out amazing content. Cheers from Denmark
You certainly seem to strike the appropriate tone of appreciation and subservience that the people of the DPRK seem to want from their tourist visitors. I have zero desire to actually go there myself, so it's interesting to see the sites there, as I love to travel. Thanks for recording your experiences
Thanks for the amazing videos!! You definitely gained a new subscriber, I only discovered you yesterday but I have been binge-watching your vids in all my free time. Loving them so much!
What was the sound at 7:26 though?
That's so sweet! Thank you :) Sound means foot was delicious :)
Indigo Traveller *Food😂
Same Nina! Knows his way around a camera, editing and the world it seems! :P Makes for very easy watching.
Awesome vlog. Looking forward to your next ones! :)
Those Vlogs are sooo interesting. North Korea is really fascinating. Totaly impressive. Thank you
I like your NK series . Thank you for showing the world the reality of NK.
Thanks ❤️
It is not the real NK, sadly..
I wouldn't call it the reeeeeal NK, but I would say thanks for showing the good side of it. I know that awful shit goes down there, but still.
Lmao "the real NK"
Far far far from it
Shoaib Shaikh idk what goes through your head when you typed real nk
Sup mate! great video
Thanks!
Welcome!
Nick, subbed. Excellent videos on NK. I’ve only previously watched one from Vice a few years back but it was fairly pointed on the ‘crazy’ whereas yours has been a genuine vlog. Great work.
Amazing series subbed and turned notifications on straight away
7:12 guys like that " moss from the rock?" end up in jail lol
Why is there a picture of the leaders in every building ?! Imagine seeing a picture of trump on every wall like jeez
IanVelesGDツ because the Kim’s are literal god’s to them...to the people of North Korea Kim jung-un makes the sun shine ...seriously, he is everything to them...
lol
It's a characteristic to every communist regime I believe. Coming from Romania, I can attest that we had the same situation here with Ceausescu. His picture was everywhere, and everything else you see in these videos look strangely familiar to me. It's like they have a certain recipe for indoctrination. The leader was God, we were not allowed religion (my father was in the military and I had to be baptized in secret at home), the ritualistic "demonstrations of affection" towards the leaders, even down to the pioneers (the kids with the red scarves), the somber dark clothes, sad faces, architecture. The leaders had gold taps in their bathrooms, meanwhile normal folk had rations cards for 1kg of sugar and 1l of rapeseed oil a month.
I am pretty sure that if someone were to make a video putting together side by side every other communist country, you will see the same patterns everywhere.
Or May?
In NK president dictator's are viewed as a GOD.
Great job I ready enjoyed watching this series
Keep up the awesome work! Love the videos
