Thanks for watching 🙂👌
Power.... Does like 0-100 in 14 seconds
Hahaha decent motor but I think "pure power" might be pushing it mate
@@cl9_616 nah like 10s

I have this car and it drives perfectly well even after 360,000 kms
Awesome kms !! Thanks for watching!!
Have you changed the battery ?
@@alekorh9223 that’s a good question
@@alekorh9223 Only once at 288000 kms for AUD 2300 (aftermarket)
I have the same car but recently I have a big problem with the car. Maybe someone can help me with it? So basicly I bought the car 3 years ago and had zero problems untill I did a big maintenance to show some love to the car.
Since 5 months the civic 1.3 hybrid 2010 311k km gave me high fuel economy of 8,5/100l. Which was before 5,2/100l to max 6,5/100l. Also the car making too much rpm I think and I have the feeling that I miss some power in the car as well.
I have these problems since I changed my 8x bougies, change my oil which was 5w30 to 0w30 (recommended) with oil filter. Also did my front brakes and swap them to brembo with normal brake discs. Also did the interior filter change to a carbon filter and the Airfilter to a sport air filter.
So yes, I visited 3x different workshops and all the 3 times they told me they fixed it and it was a brake that was stuck.
Thanks man i just bought a 2010 today i love it 😀
Hey thanks for watching!
Thank you. Helpful information, recorded in a beautiful land.
Thank you for watching!🙂
is it worth changing the faulty battery cells only or much better to buy new or refurbished battery?
coldminded21 ive never tried but some people have had success replacing cells only .. in ireland there are also companies supplying much less expensive aftermarket batteries too with warranty 🙂👌
Do you think it’s a good first car? Is it fun to drive?
It’s a good car if you want something comfortable and cheap, it is not fun to drive 😞😞 thanks for watching! 🙂
Are the front seats in the hybrid the same as those in the 1.8 saloon from the same year?
Ollie Power yes they look very similar , I have none in stock now but from recollection yes 🙂
Another Great video, impressive car for its age and cost, dose honda Ireland still supply replacement battery’s for this model? Would a 10yr+ hybrid civic be due for replacement?
They can give trouble after about 10 to 12 years, but it’s best to wait until you see a warning light on the vehicle, I’m sure you can still buy a replacement battery from Honda, but there are cheaper aftermarket options. I believe these days! Thanks for watching
Thanks alot! Your video helped alot
I’m glad it was useful !!
Why does it feel as plasticky as a dell monitor. and is it just the road or if you drove fast enough can it actually fly?
Two answers necessary, I suppose it feels like there is a lot of plastic because there is a lot of plastic, second question, everything can fly if you drop it from a height 🙂
@@doolanbrian Ohhh thanks for responding. I really mean to ask, does it shake/wobble more than other cars, or is just the road that's bumpy? Btw how does it compare to a 2009 Toyota Vios in terms of acceleration, stability/wobbliness/bumpiness, noise, quality of the interiors and fuel efficiency?
@@evanfisher7361 I think the suspension is average 🙂 but you’d have to test one to see what you think 🙂 we don’t get the Vios in Ireland so I’ve never driven one !
does it drive on battery only on certain speeds? eg up to 40km/hr?
No it always drives combined , it never drives battery only !! Its just an assist to the petrol engine !
they seem fun but most people sell them after 250k kilometers or after using for 15 years now wich is litirally aslong as the baattery last untill u need to replace it wich is a bit sketch
I guess the technology is pretty outdated now and we have seen batteries give up after 11-12 years , hey thanks for watching!
@@doolanbrian 11/12 years? Good to know so i can be careful with looking for one they sure are cheap tho for what u get
@@Jay-rd6fe sometimes, but not always, there is no definite lifespan, so some people are still going with their original batteries right now!
I plan to buy this, years 2007, millage about 30k, it's still worth to buy? How about battery condition? It's 14 years old now,
How about gasoline consumption? 1L : __km ?
Realistically fuel will be about 6l/100 kms ... as a 14 year old car .. yes you run the risk of the battery being faulty .. in ireland however there are companies offering replacement battery services for about €1500.. hope this helps ! Thanks for watching
@@doolanbrian so helpful ! I'll think about it and thank you
@@dhanipianist Thanks for watching, glad it was helpful!
Bumpy ride? How's cornering?
It’s got independent rear suspension so cornering is pretty ok !🙂
Hi mate would you recommend this or a 1.8 saloon... currently unable to source a 1.8 petrol saloon in England d
Personally I would prefer the 1.8 saloon, more power, And on the right day, if driven properly, that 1.8 Will hit 45 mpg all day long, I don’t think the hybrid is as nice to drive! You should look up 1.8 for sale in Ireland they are very cheap over here
@@doolanbrian thank you very much for the info , is there a particular vehicle search engine I can use to look up the 1.8 in IE
Hi.. is it really economical compare to Prius?
Honestly I would think the prius is probably more economical as it is a full hybrid where as this is just an assist, thanks for watching, hope that makes sense
@@doolanbrian thank u!!!
I have a question, what is the range of the Honda Civic Hybrid when you have full tank of fuel?
Somewhere just shy of 800 km, thanks for watching!
@@doolanbrian is it fun to drive or just a little bit ?
@@Archive7992 unfortunately it’s not fun to drive, it’s only functional🙂
@@doolanbrian Is it a good car to doing long trips with it just like diesel car?
@@Archive7992 it’s ok .. probably more suited to city driving .. diesel is good for motorways I think 🤔
I learned my lesson not to buy hybrid car again 1st you save gas later battery not charging cost around $ 3-4k for replacement.
Hey Vince , they can go when the car is over 10 years old alright but battery replacement options are available in Ireland for about €1,500 :) Thanks for watching !
Hi buddy nice video review hope you’re well, need some advice since I’m looking to buy a car for work which requires a lot of driving up and down Oxfordshire and possibly some areas in London... I’m thinking of investing in a hybrid car never had one before... currently own a manual Vauxhall Astra SRI 1.4 which is super comfy to drive but lately has been taking up a lot of fuel/money unfortunately and need something that’s super economical to help reduce my expenses!
I like Honda Civics, the coupe and saloon both look nice, what would you recommend is a better buy? What model/spec should I go for and should it be low mileage? Got a budget of around £3K. Don’t know much about cars but really looking forward to get hands on a Honda for work. It’d be much appreciated if you could help a brother out with some top advice, thanks! 🙏🏼
Thanks for watching, just so I have a better idea, how many miles do you drive per day?
@@doolanbrian Hi man thanks for getting back, just worked it out and I’m doing an average of 100+ miles per day hitting almost 500 during the week...
@@rameelsiddiqui. In my opinion I think you are better off looking for a diesel with the level of driving you do, the 2.2 diesel civic from 2008/2009 is a good reliable engine and reasonably frugal , or the accord from 2007/2008 ? Both of those engines are slightly less complicated than some of the more modern ones so if you can find a good one they can be very useful! Hope this helps!
@@doolanbrian
Thanks for getting back to me mate,
Right I understand, however wouldn’t investing in a petrol hybrid car for work like the Honda Civic 1.3 IMA be better because it has lower running costs? If I’m not wrong the car has lower tax, good fuel consumption, smaller engine size which would mean cheaper insurance, it’s ULEZ compliant, paying less money on fuel per 100+ miles p/month (I’m currently spending around £250 p/m on fuel).
I believe it’s a better choice because it’s economically efficient as a whole no? If I were to find one with lower mileage and good service history, wouldn’t that be better?
I’m just kinda stuck in trying to decide what kind of car I should go ahead with... I’m trying to think what’s best for ‘long term’ (if you know what I mean)
@@rameelsiddiqui. Of course, hope it’s useful information!
So it’s not a hybrid like a prius insight etc???
Unfortunately not, it can’t do full electric drive, It’s only a battery assist if that makes sense?
@@doolanbrian so my Prius if I drive above 20mph uses the engine and battery this civic does exactly that all of the time?
@@A_Acars yes .. it never does electric only 🙂
Question. I'm not sure if you know, but I'm looking for this one or a Honda Insight hybrid because I'm going to drive more km's on a daily after summer is over.
But my question is, how does a car like this hold up in a mountainous enviroment. I regularly visit my aunt in Switzerland. She lives in the alps so yeah, how would it be on a mountain pass?
Thanks!
For hills like that i would suggest a diesel really , there is no torque in the 1.3 IMA engine set up for hills. Thanks for watching !!
I own 2010 it's Japan import. I have just complain . I am getting just 11.4 km per letters. It's very Compfertable. Very niosy. Can any body plz help me how to git good millage, I looked after her very well.
What type of driving do you do ?? Motorway mostly ?? It seems very poor Mpg 😔
How's cvt on it? How long does it last? And what's lifespan of battery
wolverine1981pl The CVT is okay, it is noisy under full acceleration, the battery usually seems to last around 10 years without trouble although we have seen battery is lasting up to 15 years, it really depends on the environment and driving conditions that they have been exposed to, hope this helps, thank you for watching
Honda should have use the 1.8 with hybrid and would got better fuel efficiency
You could be right the 1.8 was always fuel efficient!
I love it
I glad to hear !
I'd love one but the cat converter theft epidemic is putting me off. is this Civic targeted by cat thieves?
I totally get you .. Prius and civic Hybrid from this time are direct targets unfortunately for car theft 🙄😣
Do you have any civic available for sale?
Check out our stock at www.hondacentre.ie , thanks for watching !
Hi,
Which will be better car for me civic 2010 or corolla 2010.
Will appreciate your advice.
Thanks
@@doozy5664 The Honda is Hybrid so it may be easier on fuel but both cars are pretty close !!!
Brian Doolan at Fitzpatricks Garage Kildare Thankyou so much for information. Lastly which of both have less cabin noice and trouble free, as now both models are more than 10 years old.
Thanks
@@doozy5664 I think they are very similar , the Honda is a little more comfortable i think !!
I need a translator! Omg!
Is it RWD or FWD ?
TheScareCrow InTheField it’s FWD 🙂👌
a lot of noise with driving in the car
Hondas can have road noise alright , some people hear it and some people don’t 🙂
Very poor acceleration.
Understood, its an eco car i guess so power is low :)
@@doolanbrian there is no need to check full throttle in your tests then
Tollymaster you really aren’t supposed to accelerate fast in this car for fuel economy but I don’t have problems merging with traffic in it here in the US
Tollymaster he was acealerating onto a 100kmh road he had to get up to speed quickly otherwise Brian would be slowing down traffic behind him and plus it’s a cvt so anytime you even remotely floor it, the revs are above 5000rpm so 😕
