EP80 - How to turn a car radio into a 60$ plotter.

Today we see step by step the most economical way to obtain a plotter, with a 7-inch touch screen, for our boat that will have little to envy of the most advanced of the big brands. With a 60 euro car radio, we will build a nautical plotter that has it all. It will even be used to view our boat's cameras, or as a touch screen to operate our Raspberry Pi. And of course, also to listen to music, that's what the manufacturer designed it for.

In this case is an advantage for us, I have to look a lot and take some risk to find a device that really have and Android 12 behind. The key, I think, is that it includes "Play Store" so is really easy to add any standard Android App

There are very different options of chart to add to the radio, or any android tablet:
With the Navionics subscription you can get charts for your area, and you can cancel de subscription after one year and the charts will continue to work on your device.
Also you can install OpenCPN and there are many options for charts:
You have OpenSeaMaps for free
You have the famous CM93 charts, that can be download on some forums on internet

Thanks for making an English version, I'm Brazilian and your Spanish is too fast for me to understand everything, and the subtitles in english doesn't help me because I still keep trying to understand what you are saying and read at the same time to fill the gaps of what I've missed, what make things worse and I end up understanding even less, but now in english makes it much easier for me. That is everything I like, sailing, DIY, and save money 😂.

I think it’s possible to add multiple language audio tracks in to the same video that can be selected by the user , I have seen it in some channels (e.g. Marques Brownlee). Just in case you want to avoid duplicating all your content. Cheers.

Yes, it is possible, but is only available for a small set of CZcams channels, not mine. In any case, the different videos allow us to localize more things than the audio, like the texts and diagrams on the video or the thumbnails

I just saw post on facebook, I have got similar machine the red power wire i ran to a volt battery so if i turn my batteries off and then come back latter my settings are saved

Great, as far as this is a full Android device, If you disconnect power gently, it will keep all the config, probably the connection for the red wire is to ensure that the radio stores everything before powering off, and also to star faster..
