- The novel María written by Jorge Isaacs tells the story of a romance between the author and his cousin María, set in the El Paraíso hacienda in Valle del Cauca, Colombia. The detailed description of the landscapes in the novel aroused the interest of the Japanese, who became the first Japanese immigrants to Colombia in the 1920s. These immigrants settled in Valle del Cauca and formed an agricultural colony called El Jagual. Many of them then searched for better farmland in the region and their contribution was instrumental in agricultural development. In addition, they established the first school for Tractor Drivers in Colombia. Currently, the descendants of these Japanese immigrants live in various cities in Valle del Cauca and continue to work in agriculture, contributing to the growth and improvement of the sector in the region.

antes no se podía visitar ya que era una zona de conflictos entre guerrilla y paramilitares pero ahora gracias a Dios podemos visitarla

Que tan veridico es, que ésta Hacienda q se conoce hoy dia, sea replica y q la original, se.encuentra como unos acres mas abajito, la cual, està muy bien sercada y cubierta por altos arbustos, los cuales no dejan ver su interior. Y q los dueńos, no accedieron a convertir su propiedad en transito Turistico. Y q por lo cual, se habia construido una "Replica" de ésta, mas arribita, la ya hoy muy bien conocida.
Alguien puede verificar ésto ?!🤷🏻♂️
