- Taking a look at Diamond characters today: who I've already elevated, and who's next on the list. Let me know what you think of my choices in the comments below. Who have you deemed worthy of elevating?

I’ve taken Angrax to D2 and he’s a monster. Great for LREs and for me essential for onslaught because the games just won’t give me Rotbone!
My first Diamond II characters were Maugan Ra, followed by Bellator, Celestine, and Eldryon (mostly because since I'm spending XPbooks to up his Doom passive, might as well). Then I took Aleph-Null to Diamond I (to fully unlock Indomitus Mirror Elite for the Calgar farming). My most recent Diamond 2 was Ragnar, as he excels in so many guild raids. Next up, I'm currently working to take Ulf, Aethana and Thaddeus up to the Diamond ranks.
Myself, I am focusing on the Black Templars.
Brother Burchard is a freakin' TANK that can hit pretty hard, if lacking in agility.
Sword Brother Godswyl is a little thin defense wise but once leveled up enough he does better and has great atk options and maneuverability.
Ancient Thoread is balanced, he fills the gap between Burchard and Godswyl and his power up is awesome.
And I am 240/250 to Emperors Champion Jaeger. Looking forward to that!
I also have Azrael and Sarqael of the Dark Angels. They aren't as tough as Black Templars but they have superior range and great mobility.
Maugan Ra is getting to Diamond I right now- I have a full aeldari line up for arena (I need soo many of those legendary items). I find Maugan Ra great in all raid but the screamer killer, I find Calandis better there.
Gotta love Kut, a real tank. He wears Rogal Dorn tank as pants
This video was very timely, as I am in a position where I need to think about which one character I'm going to bring to at least D1. Most of my need for this is easier Arena matches. Kut was an interesting choice, and you say he performs well in Arena eh? I'm kinda thinking Sho'Syl, but I'll mull it over in my mind as I shore up my remaining Gold 1 choices before the Ragnar event. I'll definitely keep Kut in the running after hearing you talk about him in arena. Edit: Also considering Celestine, who is G1 now and all around badass.
Angrax was my first (and currently only) diamond 1 character. I pumped him up for LEs. The fact he is needed for the caria campaign was an afterthought but a welcome plus
I only started in October, but right now I am making everyone B3, then I will do S1. This is mostly to be able to do as most as possible of events. Working well so far.
After everyone is S1, I will probably start focus more on spesific characters or maybe just continue what I am doing
Good break downs, I think you have a lot of good choices that make sense. Sadly, no matter how meta they may be, I simply don't care enough about most of the Guard to bother with them.
My only diamond is Archimatos. He's a key part of my Tyranid and Mortarion strats and for shutting Re'Vas down in Arena. Pairs VERY well with Abraxas. A million summons and the extra hits from Ab's passive on psy strikes works wonders.
After that (and I wish I'd done this sooner) Eldryon for survivability. He's just too key a player for every Raid and when he gets taken out you're crying. Yes, he's not individually exciting but he IS the meta.
After Eld will be Bellator, who I slept on for a very long time. He's the most mobile tank and he brings in the summons which work great in so many game modes and pair amazingly with Eld.
That's my top three. I think Eld and Bell should be in everyone's top three. Beyond those I'll probably go after Neuro, Arhiman, Ragnar, Exitor-Rho and Sho Syl, in that order.
These are more niche choices as Neuro is central to my Rogal strat (and I love tyranids), Ahriman is a solid buff to my Mort and Rogal strat, Ragnar is a beast in general and Rho will be part of my new Silent King strategy. Sho buffs that nicely and is oh so useful in many different game modes including LRE.

Calgar, Ragnar and Eldyron are my only diamonds but they absolutely wreak havoc when all the buffs stack up. Will have Revas there as well tomorrow and then onto Ra next from G3. Those 50 shards I won went a long way on cutting my grind time down!
I'm curious why people take Eldy to diamond. His passive doesn't benefit at all from the extra stats and that's primarily what he's used for.
Dream is Angrax, Bellator & Reva’s to diamond.
I would like a maxed out Haarken.
I’ll use him against summoner teams.
With his mobility and passive, once he’s killed 3 or more summons, I don’t think there’s a single character would be able to withstand a +900 and maybe 6x piercing hits if he defeats 2 characters
That’s nearly 6k damage and 80% is piercing. Aside from Ragnar with significant buffs, I doubt there’s a character who can dish out that amount of damage without getting buffs elsewhere.
I don't have diamond yet but am hoping that imperial units as a first would be best. Hope you level satisfaction in your goal of units accordingly @Buzz.
My personal rule of thumb is to pick characters whose stats are important. For some characters, their skill level is what defines their usefulness and in this case I feel you get less out of investing in them all the way to diamond.
On the other hand there are hise whose base stats count for a lot. Usually this applies to the main damage dealers and the tanks. For GR, I feel it makes more sense to invest in the dmg dealers as long as the tanks can survive somewhat. So by that logic Ragnar will be my next D2 even though I haven't unlocked him yet lol

Dude. Hording that gold and diamonds!! Go hard!! My first diamond was RA but I love playing the Aeldari Allstars. All Diamond though Jain Zar, Eldryong and Calandis still need to be D2.
Interesting choices. Kut is coming in to his own now so having him up seems prescient.
Mine were (in order) Cally, Eldy, Ra. Currently working on Re'vas (G1, just got legendary) as my G2 Warboss isn't getting enough done as the main tank anymore. Priorities after are Noble (G1), Angrax (G2), Bellator (S3), Ulf (S2), Isabella (G1) and Rotbone (G2).
Having eldy at D2 has been really handy imo. Survivability is lower than many but D2 gives her the ability to stay on the field after a hit or two at least, and often that's enough to tip an arena battle or boss fight. Having her do full damage isn't bad either!
Would love to get Sho'syl up, but she's stuck at Epic for now. Feels too bad to honour her in onslaught if there's no chance at legendary orbs, so have to wait to lucky-roll some shards to get her third red star before that push. Likewise would like to bring the Neurothrope up for nid and psyker strats, just need a few more shards to start making it the onslaught focus.
When you get a character to the threshold of ascending, you gain shards AND orbs from Onslaught.
I have zero diamonds, 6 characters at gold 2, and 8 more at gold 1. it just seems like it takes so much xp to go past level 38 and I’d rather have more flexibility and ways to play, so I have never gone past there. I finally decided to commit to leveling eldryon so I guess he’ll be my first diamond character, but I also don’t care about anything but his passive so it won’t be as exciting for me
My first diamond II character was anuphet (his power is 318,650 power) love the necrons didn't really care about strats or how good they were. i level off meta champions if i think they look cool. next was my Neurothrope because i have the RL model which i painted so was a insta upgrade. but sho was my first Diamond I unit before diamond II was released. sho carried me through A LOT of content thanks to the drones. My next Diamond II is Exitor cause it will work well with anupeht hopefully..
My first was Thaddeus at D2 because he is a damage monster. Following is Maugan Ra at D1, I still miss XP and leg upgrades. Eldryon is only at G3 because of upgrade competition with Ra. I'm currently working on Neurotrope. I have a bunch of G3 but not enough XP like Typhus and Archimatos. They rank up at the rythm of Arena XP. Calgar is G2 and should follow too
Maugan and Revas are both D2. Im working on Thad next. From that point on im not sure. Maybe Jaeger and Angrax
I have D2 Yarrick, Thaddeus and Bellator. D1 Calgar, Ragnar and Eldryon. Eldy only for survivability. The rest are for GR, arena and fun. Papa Smurf and Wolfie would also be D2, but I lack exp 😢
Just got Celestine to diamond 2. First character to make it. Also my only blue star character. Next highest is Ragnar at diamond 1 and then Ulf/Bellator/Elydron all at gold 3
Sho'syl is a good choice, though keep in mind the drones use their own stats after the first attack so you have to spend badges to upgrade them too.
They drop absolute bombs if they proc off of Shadowsun's passive 👌 Usually one hits even tough foes.
And to top it all off, Exitor will proc his passive each time they hit a target he's adjacent to. I'm definitely blitzing Exitor to G1 and seeing how he performs in Guild Raid.
I'm nearly lvl 47 and have 0 diamond characters. Trying to push most of them to the g1, which is quite hard if you add the fact that I'm mostly f2p. Only doing it for the LRE-s because that's the most fun for me in the whole game. Maybe I'll try to push Sho, Isa or Angrax to d1 in future, who knows.
Just hate that after g1 the bottleneck are those legendary resources... There's no way to get those consistently at reasonable amounts and that just scares me off. The only thing that allows me to upgrade someone that high right now is the fact that I've been collecting those upgrades for more that a year and have some stock.
The reason to take Eldryon up to Diamond is you already spent the ep to rank his passive up mine as well upgrade while you're at it. But is not even that great at Screamer Killer. Better choices are Ulf and Ragnar, or Bellator and Calgar. Lastly, DON'T take Sho'syl up to Diamond take Re'vas instead then maybe Sho'syl although with your wide roster you Much better choices. I think Darkstrider might be a little better than Sho. I think the damage output from his passive is actually greater than Sho adds.
@Monk1400 Well, I disagree kinda. Sho'syl has the ability to just keep pumping out w new drone each turn in your back line. So even if tou have all three deployed and one of them is heavily damaged, your next attack will spawn another shiny new sniper drone to punch through the enemy tanks. I also use Re'vas I'm my main team and she is Extremely important as well. Using her to establish where your front line is setting up. I also run Shadowsun and you'll find that the game will spawn Sho'syls sniper drones next to her if possible to reap the benefit of her adjacent damage buff for T'au units. It's surprisingly far from sho'syl at times when the drone deploys next to shadowsun. I still secretly hope they one day change the game to allow the players to choose where each summon will spawn at. Probably wishful thinking, but I can dream😂 Anyways, cheers lads and remember, FOR THE GREATER GOOD!!!!
I have all my wolves D1 but Njal, who is G3 right now, and soon to be D1 like his puppies bros ^^
they're all great together :-) and the more I see character diamond stats, the more I prefer my wolves :) and they're all really tanky compared to others.
Archi was my first. Aleph-Null was my second.
Bellator will be my first diamond
