Nothing better than slamming the brakes, hearing the squealing and inevitable shouting of "scheisse" in OMSI
@Quinton238 that's what she said.
@@claytondennis5245 Hi
@@cleve8703 Hello there.
Scheiße!
Yep...... pachandii
Driven a lot of these buses here in Australia. All of our metro buses back in the day were MAN and Merc buses directly imported from Germany, and then the wheels swapped over, and the body completed locally. We had most of the SL200 single deck, and SG280 artics. So many memories. Saw the game for the first time and knew what every button on the dash did.
"Hauptbahnhof, which is the city..." That made me giggle :) Hauptbahnhof means Central Station in German, a lot of citys have a hauptbahnhof :)
I was waiting to see if you'd give OMSI a shot... definitely my favorite sim. A few points:
1. The temperature in the bus starting out low is because the temperature "outside" was low. OMSI sets the temperature approximately to the date; as is indicated by the map builder in the map global configuration file. When you changed the weather to "summerlike" the temperature outside jumped up.
2. The switch above the station brake that you kept flicking for the back door is actually the switch to lock the back door open - otherwise known as the "baby stroller switch". You don't need it during regular operation. In the BVG buses the back door is automatic, it is unlocked when you activate the station brake and is operated by the passengers.
3. The tours are actually quite important. Instead of jumping an hour+ every time on the same tour, you could have selected another one, the departure times for route 109 in hamburg are just a few minutes apart.
4. You actually started the ride by blowing a red light - the green showing was not for you but for the connecting street from the left. There was a special bus/tram traffic light on the right, which was showing a horizontal line. That means stop. A vertical or diagonal line means go - if it's diagonal, the go in the direction of the line. Also, you should have gotten into the bus lane in the center after the turn.
Cheers :)
jayzhead I definitely read it all.
@@seq_uent I actually did!
@@jameshunt1516 i was 10 years old here LMFAOOOO
which button is to come in contact with the signal so it shows A? (i found out that you just approach it, ignore this)
It is automatic you dont have to press nothing. You just have to get closer to the light@@miggis
We need a UK bus simulator, a decent one set in a big city... but hey ho, doubt that will ever happen for a good few years (if ever)
And when a customer hands over £20 you kill them
seen lot of british mods for this game
Wait for Euro Coach Simulator. SCS are hard at work to make it!
If you are interested in UK maps for OMSI check out Bowdenham V4. It is set in the UK in Yorkshire.
MartyTheGamer ECS hasn't had any updates in a long while though, they are busy working on ATS and to be fair if a coach mod for ets2mp would work right then that would be even better
Hauptbahnhof isn't a city!
It means central station!
Sorry for my bad English
Ahdzz - It's better than my German, clearly
Squirrel
Ha ha! Funny:D
Squirrel In time you get all over it, I'm sure ;)
Do not insults
Your English is actually quite good
You have surprised me with this one Paul i never thought this sim was so detailed and good as this.
so looking forward to watching part 2.
Hey Squirrel,
i think the passengers complained at the end of the video, because you actually did run over the red light and you weren't using the bus lane :)
Public transportation has its own traffic lights, they have the same order so reading them is easy, but use "-" for red, "." for yellow and "|" for green. The green one may also be "/" or "\" to indicate a green light for a right or left turn, same as the green arrows for normal cars.
Greetings from Germany!
I love that the street you spawned on is the street I have been at in Hamburg, and that big building that was behind the bus is Saturn, a big electronics store. And infront of the bus is the museum of art history, along with a mcDonalds. To the left, there is the main train station, along with a KFC and a lot of burger kings XD
Can't forget your hilarious stream with OMSI, absolutely epic!
You went through a 'red' bus light.
The two white horizontal bars on the traffic light above the left/right direction [blue circle] and give way sign [pavement] means stop.
When it is your turn you get the third light which is like a white backward slash that means go.
Those traffic lights are for busses. Trams have a similar one....like in some parts of the UK too.
The 'normal' traffic lights were for the other two lanes.
Thought I'd let you know.
And yes the Germans complain a lot! I should know I'm half German! lol
She said..."Where are you driving to then?" - Meaning you left early! lol
The middel doors in OMSI works automaticly, the switch used in this video is for getting prams and stuff like that in, that takes a bit more time. but nice job else.
So glad you finally did a video on this! It's a great game.
Nice to see that you finally is checking this game out.
Can't wait for part 2 as the stream was brilliant.
the passengers said at the end: "where did you get your drivers licence?" lol
this is really fun to watch, wouldnt mind more parts.
hahaha thanks! I wonder why was that said? He started normally.
@@Aljjocol why u say thanks?
Brilliant , awesome and epic as always Paul
I enjoyed that more than I thought would. Can't wait for part 2!
I cannot believe it!. I don't know if this is just a coincidence but I actually asked S to play this a few weeks ago, now he is!!. I can't believe someone I love on CZcams actually took some advice I gave it's awesome!..... Thanks S. Try to play with full Simulation settings, give people tickets, figure out how much change to give back etc, makes it more real and complicated. rather than just driving. You're the man S!
Brilliant video Paul you really explained it all perfectly I was worried about getting this because I wouldn't be able to understand it but now I have to do is keep this video open and it's a perfect play by play for bussing thank you and it was so funny when you streamed this lol
Bus Simulator! Been waiting for you to review this :)
The best thing about your videos that you talk in good way that keep me enjoy the game and forget the time when i see your videos,,,,really nice.....keep going man
only squirrel makes 24 minute intros before he starts driving 🤣
at one point it was 150 degrees in your bus, thats enough to melt a human being ;D
Been playing both OMSI and OMSI 2 for years, but this taught me so much XD
My god, i've been waiting this for ages!
Great video squirrel keep up the good work
Taking the good with the bad, I've always liked OMSI and your videos on them. Again another good one here, off to a good start.
Great fun to watch. Went looking for other videos of this while waiting on part two but in general noone talks, just vids of different bus routes. My first thought upon seeing a passenger was hey it's "Mary, Mungo and Midge" all over again, old kids TV, Google it.
This video really helped me understand the game! Thanks Mr. Squirrel :)
This video might not be as interesting to watch as some other videos, but I really like that you took your time to research this stuff
Great video Paul! :)
OMSI is the best bus sim out there. There is no other sim that allows so much modability and realism. The default map that comes with OMSI 2 is set in the 80s-90s in Berlin, but user made maps can be set in any place at any time.
Squirrel your brilliant mate keep the OMSI routes coming
This is hilarious. I love it so far!
Finally!!!! And you explaining the buttons and heating was way more useful thatn any tutorial I've seen on youtube.
But you did forget that you can also set the weather to current real weather.
And why didn't you map more buttons to you G27...I barely have to use the keyboard at all and can control almost everything in the bus.
Thought the same. I'm also using my Speedlink Black-Widow Joystick just for the Door controlls :p
Jay K I have quite a few buttons mapped to the G27 actually, but since you can't see the G27 I thought it best to click buttons on the screen in order to help with peoples' understanding
Squirrel
oh okay, it seemed like you were only using the keyboard and mouse.
Anyway, nice video as always.
Squirrel k
Hey mate don't understand why you have to keep hitting the button to show the next stop? You've already got the destination on the board.
This was the first vid I watched on your channel so many now
Imagine you are getting on this bus, you approach from the drivers side, and you see this full grown Englishman playing with his squeaky window with the face of a three year old.
Love the video Squirrel you should try Resistance and Liberation if you like realistic FPSs.
U just ran oveer the red bus light squirrel, if they are set as in the video you have to wait until they get green. Those are special bus and tram lights in germany...:D hehe its great fun to watch your vid man! :D Greetings from Germany dude ^^
Great video Squirrel! :)
Sweet video squirrel my school bus suspention shattered today haha
Wow, that old bus design realy takes me back to my childhood...
those are euro(cent)s, not deutsche marks
actually the 5 euro note did look like a euro note... so did the lady with the coin
Should be DM if it's in the past.
Dusan Pesic Well it should be Deutsche Marks as the bus is from the 90s and the DM was in use until 2002
+Squirrel oh kk
Its a new 5 euro bill
What you forgot to mention is the huge community behind omsi with great free maps and busses. There are only a few addons compared to the amount oof good quality maps and busses out there :D
nice vid squirrel. When you set off too early, the woman complaind -"wie fahren sie denn, haben sie überhaupt einen Führerschein" - "what's up with your driving, have you even got a driving license?"
this isn't actually detailed....it's god damn SPOT ON.
I am from Hamburg and I instantly recognized it. you started on the bridge crossing over the central station platforms.
pretty cool !
Great job! I am proud as a bus enthusiast.
Don't really like buses but like this game...anyway, can't wait for part 2 :)
Great video I can't remember off the top of my head but if u push one of the buttons on the I bus system it will do the bus stop announcements automatically
FINALLY! I've been waiting for this for a long time! Thus game was made by Aerosoft which you will recognize as an FSX Add-on Publisher. I really love this game because it's the best of it's kind and has amazing detail. Squirrel, you should dabble in the mod community!
Earned a subscriber for covering a niche game. I hope more people play this game!
For general knowledge, Hauptbahnhof is central bus/train station, not a city. Haupt being main, Bahn- train rail/road and hof being station/port. Love your videos Squirrel!!!
Awesome video, just to let u know, hauptbahnhof is Main Station (specifically train station)... once again great vid ;)
Finally! Thnx squirrel!
Very good vid Paul
Thanks for helping and plus your my best youtuber and keep making vids :)
I played the first one and thought it was really unique now really tempted to get this one, would love to see a bus sim of this type in accurate modern day London with the original Route masters of course :)
25 mins in and you are now just driving lol. Im glad u went through all the steps though. I have been interested in this game for some time but its alittle pricey and looks a tad intimidating.
Aw yes. I remember this like it was yesterday hahaha
i finally bought this game and MAN it' s so awsome
Nice video Squirrel
I find this video very good as its like an tutorial when its also a first look
Hi, I'm from Germany and for your information squirrel Hauptbahnhof is the central trainstation .
Lovely to see some content Squirrel! Keep it up.
May I request a Q&A video?
Great video
Btw your the best and hope you get to do it full time
Great Video
part 2 part 2 I cant wait
These were Euros, not Deutch Marks. The currency used is actually link to the period that the map is set to, which is cool! :)
"Hauptbahnhof" means central station in German! :D Nice video!
I don't know if you noticed/know... you have a seperate light system (instead of green orange and red) for busses and in general public transport... you might look into it!
24 mins and he's still on about buttons - i think james may sabotaged this channel
Were autobahn
Hauptbahnhof is german for main train station. It is usually abbrieviated to Hbf
Melbourne Australia MyKi mode. Passengers swipe on and off. No tickets or payment available on the bus at all. Need a top up? Do it at the big stops or select service stations. Sometimes the swipe things don't work and you get a pile up of passengers trying to swipe off before getting off.
Looks to be a real life simulator, much like work. If a english version were released I might try the game. As you mentioned several times an unstable game at times. Still part 2 of this should be cool to watch.
14:05 That "Quitt'g" doesn't mean "quit". It actually stands for "Quittung" or "Quittierung", which means you're submitting your entry or you get the receipt/acknowledgement.
You need to do another video showing the user made maps and buses to show that OMSI is not only set in Germany with only German buses.
I like all your videos because of the truck simulation
You blew the red light for busses! (Those two horizontal bars)
The driver model is extremely realistic haha.
Best game hope you make more vids on this game
That bus is an open space lol. In London the driver would be dragged outside the bus every night lol.
I know this series isn't really relevant any more, but I decided to come watch the OMSI 2 series (never actually watched it) and looking on Steam, the game is £27.11, with a total (so far) of £697.19 in DLC (with more to arrive soon) that is crazy !! Maybe not as bad as Train sim 2020 (£24.99 foir the game and £6,673.13 in DLC) but still crazy lol
That red button which is supposedly the secondary heater is actually the hazard lights!!! Yes I have this game
You should do more of these
love this game
It's the very beginning. Like the first screen when you launch from Steam.
If you want to play around, after you turned the engine on, turn off the electronics. The engine fans will stop and if you drive long enough your engine will get really hot and catch on fire! Upvote so he can see this please :-).
If you press the clutch on you g27 it will actually advance the IBIS to the next station and on more modern buses you get the anouncement for the next station and you should do it after you set off, not while still stopped.
But more importantly, how did you get the IBIS to work with an SD bus in Hamburg?
Please do another episode with modern buses :)
that jingle when turning eletric on , i wonder what it from ?
Squirrel Thankyou so much!, nice clear information in the video, helped me loads :-) keep you the good work sir!
The roller destination didn't set because when you went into the set destination menu you need to highlight the destination before you click ok or it will not set the destination and only set the line number :)
Oh, and ZOB probably means "Zentral Omnibus Bahnhof", which means "Central bus station"
Please do more!
the screeching of the bus when u press q maybe announcements, its not like it idk why and the tiny lever about the second door ur wrong,it makes door open until u switch it back maybe for baby strollers etc, there is a button for it outside
Once again a great video. Nice job, but that is what we've come to expect, right? Were you aware you can get real time weather? On the weather page if you put the identifier of any airport, it will automatically update the sim weather to the weather at that airport. I use KGRR which is Grand Rapids MI and it works great!
Hauptbahnhof isn't a city, it means Central Train Station xD
They sad "how are you driving?" and i think it was said because you went through the red bus light. The traffic lights showed green, but the lights on the right side with the diagonal lines may have told you to stop but i am not sure with that
I have to correct my self, the diagonals said free to make left turn
Oh i miss Seen those lights, they are horizontal not diagonal, so they mean stop
Nice :D
