Paultons Park Tornado Springs Construction Update - February 2020

- In this exciting series we'll be following the construction of Tornado Springs, a new area that's opening at Paultons Park in March 2021. Originally this new themed area was planned to open in May 2020, however this was delayed due to Covid-19. Tornado Springs will feature a variety of new rides and experiences all set within a heavily themed area based on 1950's America.
In this episode I take a look at the heavy amount of theming that's gone into place throughout Tornado Springs along with sharing updates from all of the different rides. This includes exclusive testing footage of The Cyclonator, the parks Zamperla Discovery Gyro Swing! Along with that I check out the interior of some of the buildings and much more in this action packed on site construction update from Paultons Park!
Here at Theme Park Worldwide we look forward to working with Paultons Park throughout the entire construction phase and bringing various on site updates all the way through until the opening of Tornado Springs in March 2021.

Love those blades on the inside of the Cyclonator, makes it look seriously menacing! Paultons are really putting all the Merlin parks to shame with this new area!!
They do a fantastic job with the budget they have no doubt. Merlin don't put as much thought into their attractions usually however Wickerman was an exception. Everything about that ride is great.
Paultons are really punching above their weight lately. I love the amount of effort they put into everything they do. All the little touches show that they really care about the guest experience as much as the bottom line.
I've lived in Southampton my whole life and Paultons has always been a place I've visited since I was a young child in the late 80s up until before the park closed in December for its winter shut down. It has always changed and evolved but this year is definitely a big step forwards for the thrill seekers. We have been pass holders for the past 18 months and I have to say we never grow bored. My 2 year old thoroughly enjoys his visits and keeps asking to go to go back. In the summer myself and my husband sometimes popped down after work if my son was at nursery to do more of thrill rides. Hopefully we can do the same when Tornado Springs opens. I am due to give birth around the time it all opens so I will probably have to wait until summer is over to take full advantage of the new rides. However, I'm really looking forward to the park reopening in a few weeks and getting to have the opportunity to test the new rides in the near future.

If you were wondering where I was since Saturday The 25th January until today, my old IPad was in the repair shop for a week but when I brought it back to my houses it went worst so I have got a new IPad. Anyway, as talking of my new IPad, I’m back. In America at around 05:52, they call it a couch. It seemed to be a beehive from 09:42-09:45. Make sure you and Shawn look after yourselves.😊
I am so excited to visit paultons park this year for the first time when this is complete. The theming looks amazing, so many uk parks should take a leaf out of Paultons parks book.

Do you think paultons will go the way Toverland seems to be.... slowly increasing the intensity of their ride offerings as they expand to get the older crowds? I hope so and with the quality of what they are doing I cant wait to see what the have in store for the future.

Paulton’s Park has been making some huge investments! I’m from the United States and this looks marvelously impressive even for one of our parks! Their themeing is better than the themeing at our huge Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks!

Wish I could pick up paultons a put it in the midlands, ai think this will soon be the best themed park in the UK.
They've added their first thrill ride. So hopefully this place will follow in the footsteps of toverland and eventually get larger rides
I love my local park. In my opinion, one of the more beautiful parks in the UK. I am genuinely shocked by how big Cyclonator looks. It doesn't look like a family model at all.

Where is the transfer track/maintenance area for Storm Chaser as it will presumably run 2 trains?
The transfer track is in the station! It'll lift up vertically to add a second train!

The coaster will run two trains and the area has many rides to help with capacity!

It looks a great coaster and great area. I doubt it but a 2 lap special would only make me queue for this if it had a large queue but i bet it will be on 2 trains
It will go around the track once however on busy days will be able to run two trains!

Cyclonator is the start of the park going in the direction that Toverland and Plopsaland have taken before by adding thrill attractions while retaining a family focus in my opinion. In a way, it's like growing with the audience.
I highly doubt they would have installed that particular model (Zamperla Discovery 30) if they weren't taking the first steps towards a broader audience.
I can see their first thrill coasters coming to the park in the next few years along with further thrill rides, new water rides i.e. Modern Flume, Rapids and a dark ride or two. Of course there'd still be family attractions though.
Paultons certainly have the potential to be one of the UK's or even Europe's best theme parks if they manage to capture a broad audience and cater for all ages especially with the way they're going at the moment.

Sean, have you rode Stratosphere at Rainbows End in New Zealand? I did a couple of years ago and vowed 'never again'. Cyclonator looks very similar but does it go all the way over?

A few years ago done a job for one of the CEOs ar paultons and he said that by then end of 2030 worh the investment being ploughed in want to be the best park in the uk, starting to go that way by the looks of it. Look forward to seeing it happen!
