That 3 in the back from Martinez was atrocious. If I was coach I’d start felix at cf never left wing. The problem with Portugal is we have guys like Bernardo Silva who are too good to start but where you put him? Cm he’s too small and rw he’s too slow. He plays for man city surrounded by world class players he shines because his ball control and technique are second to none. He also has one of the fastest rb in the world overlapping. Portugal we have Dalot, who I believe has the makings of a great player but his decision making is very poor and he never runs 1v1 cause he’s scared of making mistakes. (This what happens playing for toxic Man U) and finally our self proclaimed “main man” Bruno Fernandes who I believe can strike and kick a ball like the best. But players like Odegaard, modric, Musiala, Bellingham and more leave him in the dust with the ball at their feet, he can’t make anything happen unless he’s heaving the ball in the box or banging a long ball out of defense. I remember feeling like Portugal always had a chance when Ronaldo was young even on a less talented team. Now I believe we have even less of a chance with a more talented all around team. Goes to show how powerful he was and today how ungrateful and selfish most of these players are.

Ronaldo was worth having to sacrifice defending with 11. His output for 16 years was amazing. Out of respect we are going for these Euros with him in the 11, as a captain. Our chances are Slim to none.

Imo him playing alongside Jota would be the best and will instantly make Portugals attack a million time more threatening with that duo, Jota is a very smart player who knows when to pass, is extremely efficient, gives defenders another player to worry about aerially and also runs a lot which allows Ronaldo to breathe more. I fully agree with what you said about the other players and how guys like bruno, dalot and all are not gonna mesh especially with Ronaldo cause hell in all my time watching portugal play I have never seen Dalot complete a single cross.

It's very sad to see that Ronaldo's form is declining. His one of my favorite players ever growing up and still is. His ageing and his agility and especially balance have declined. I still remember when Ronaldo played against Atleti in 2017 and he had 2 hatricks against them that year against the same keeper he played today, Oblak. He's ball control and skills have declined with age but now you can really notice it (His quick thinking and his quickness on the ball has been affected). He might still be able to score goals but otherwise his performance off the ball and on the ball has declined. His stamina, speed and ability on the ball has probably gotten affected the most. He will still remain one of my fav players and one of the best in the history of football.

It's funny how for a long time many said the team had to stop playing for Ronaldo, when the truth was they only played the ball to him when they were helpless. Since this new generation appeared, they avoid giving him the ball in obvious situations. They make him do runs all the time, but never pass the ball to those runs. And crossing is so badddddd when you have one the best headers in history in your squad.
