I used it nearly over 4 months.
I have 3 phones.. iPhone XS, Notes 9 and Mate20pro
    experience sharing on Mate20pro
. Mate20pro every month has new OS upgrades, every upgrade to enhance functions and features
. latest one includes Quik video editing software - free in mate20pro. it is good to impressive
. mate20pro, the camera for night shots are amazing good. notes 9 is good for food photos, iPhone XS still fine but not impressive.
. the video is right, the battery is very long life compared to iPhone XS and Notes 9. plus mate20pro charging is much quicker on wireless charging
Seriously, you paid big buck on phone. if you need the very very best camera for all purposes then mate20pro is the only option. Someone claimed iPhone XS beats mate20pro on slow motion video. It is not to argue but how often every video that you take is on slow motion? Someone says note9 is good in dim light. my personal experience, I used note5 till note9. I give up on it. the note9 night shot either handshakes (blur), or very coarse (manual mode) - your gf or friends loses temper after you spend at least few times or over 5 minutes to try on pose. With mate20pro, I can take 9 out of 10 shots are excellent photos in couple minutes.
    Hope this useful to everyone.

I also like my Mate 20 pro but the system is really bad polished and they don't pay attention to details, animations are not consistent, most of the times things just pop up roughly. I'm a loyal Samsung user and decided to try this Huawei, and it feels like using a smartphone from years ago, like Samsung used to be, full of glitches. When I take my Note 8 I really notice how smooth Samsung is now. Also the ram management is really poor for a 6Gb phone. Apart from these minor visual details, the phone is incredibly fast and I hope they spend some time now perfecting and polishing the EMUI.

@@m.w.4157 I know, I just decided to try something new, since Note 9 didn't seem to add that much difference in my experience. I used iPhone X for 6 months and couldn't get used to iOS but I really missed how good the battery life was and the Face Id, so I decided to give Huawei a try. I'm overall really satisfied because the phone is really fast, battery life is way beyond any smartphone I've ever used, charging speed is impressive, cameras are amazing, 3D scanner works really nice... The phone is a beast, but I really think Samsung is way ahead in consistency and sometimes I miss that.

This is more like a 2019 flagship in 2018. Huawei did an amazing job here. Only thing that bothers me is the EMUI, but then again One ui and all the other UIs in general don't appeal to me. I would probably just change it for pixel 4 if the design is going to be improved.

Iphones for 8 years, fed up of being ripped off. Tried M 20 pro and really like it. You can notice a few glitches and ways we're they've tried to copy apple. But when your phone fully charges in 45 mins, you have this high resolution and its lightning quick, you really don't mind. Im hoping the phone will last for the two years I have it now.

umm not sure how long are you using android but there are some notifications that can't be removed, I mean it depends on developer like in Whatsapp if you use whatsapp web then the notification that you get in your phone is of non dismissable category.
usually these kind of notifications are used for things that are going to get updated frequently like "Uploading files".

Great video. Only thing I will say is that you should use the front camera on photo mode, and when you snap a shot hold the phone still for a second after the shot and it sharpens the photos. I don't get any beauty mode on my face and believe me I need it haha.
Oh and reverse wireless charging works fine. You only really need it to keep someone's phone alive but at the pub. Charges slow but does charge.

People were saying only the screens made by LG had the green screen problem. I ran a device check and I was so glad that my phone screen was not from LG. I have been using this phone for 3 months now, it is a great phone! (Other than it is more expensive than I what expected. I thought Chinese phones would be cheaper.)

Thanks for the review, this video made me make up my mind. Changed from iPhone 6s to this phone, I got quite a bit of concerns from watching all the review videos on CZcams. But i,'m glad that I got this phone, because it's sooo amazing, the design is great, perfect for one hand use even for someone like me with a small hand, the twilight colour is amazing, and the camera is so versatile, the battery life is insane, only used 30% of the battery with 5hr screen time!!!! The change was realatively easy, the pre-installed app helped a lot in transferring data, it took less than 3 minutes to transfer all photos, videos, contacts and calendar. I really appreciate the engineers and the Huawei team for building such a great device! The gluegate issue has been fixed, I have no problem at all

If it was available in the US, I would have bought it. I just can't spend around $1K give or take without a warranty, others think different, and fine. I have no security fears, my daughter uses a US version of the Mate 10 Pro and it's a great phone. I wish they would let the market prevail and not politics. I've said this before elsewhere, I can understand not wanting Huawei building the infrastructure but that's something else and has nothing to do with a consumer product. Would I buy it now, probably no do to newer choices coming to the market. Thank you for the re review, and good luck to all of you have have this fantastic device.

André Felipe if you want all the new technology such as in-display fingerprint, ir face id, reverse wireless charging & curved screen buy the Mate 20 Pro
If you dont care about new features and need a bigger display, M Pen support and better stereo speakers with a headphone jack buy the 20 X
Other than that both are same in spec, camera & features. The 20 Pro is the most famous and easy to hold though.

Although the Mate 20 Pro & 20 X has the same camera the Pro might have a bit extra quality because its software optimization because the Pro is their highest end Flagship. 20X is in between the regular and Pro

My downsides after 2 months of use... call quality is awful, through the phone earpiece and any Bluetooth device. This doesn’t affect media audio, just the phone. The screen has scratches despite being kept in a dedicated pocket in a microfibre bag. These are fine micro scratches so it’s the very top surface rather than a deep scratch. My previous iPhone has an immaculate screen after 2 years and was used in the same way.

My issues with m20p after 2 months:
Gestures don't work with other Launchers
Camera interface is horrible and can't be customized
Always On Display is a no featured joke
Front camera has extremely shallow dof, everyone behind the main subject are blurry
Cameras can be earth shattering fantastic, but they are not very consistent, its a lottery
I found that the HDR mode is one of the best overall modes to shoot, yet its so hidden in UI its criminal
    Screen rotate can be sluggish
This is all compared to Samsung experience (I switched from Note line after 8 years!)
There are many many things to like, these are just the flaws that not many people are talking about.

The Tech Chap - surprised to see no major reviewer has mentioned the two things that made me return the phone:
    1) Shutter lag (resulting in blur) with any objects moving towards you in anything but the brightest of scenarios. Try with a dog / cat / toddler
    2) Inability to easily interact with lock screen notifications. Try marking a text as ‘read’ in one click, as you can on almost every other android phone

    • @amandarayner9603
      @amandarayner9603 Před 5 lety

1- never had any issues with the camera or shutter speed and I use my phone at work photographing children in a pool. Hard conditions for a phone camera.
2 - the notifications issue would have been due to your security settings. As soon as you enable face unlock or fingerprint unlock it hides notifications. It's just a privacy thing that most people would appreciate.

    • @aboutdamntime
      @aboutdamntime Před 5 lety

@@amandarayner9603 I concede that you may not be experiencing the camera issue, and perhaps the lighting at the pool is better than my lounge at night, but I'm not referencing the hiding of notifications. They display fine, but to interact with them, such as replying to a text from the home screen, you must perform multiple clicks rather than all other android phones that require a pull down and you type away. It's a very common issue on notice boards, but no reviewers mention it (outside just not loving EMUI)

I've used two screen protectors and they're both useless because they don't curve around the screen properly so it never fully sticks and Peeled off eventually. But other than that. Totally love it. Can't afford the watch though.
