I know San Pang was just worried as a friend but he annoyed me so much during this arc in the novel. What does it have to do with him if Yuan likes Qian?! It's also like, yes, Yuan can like boys all he wants but he draws the line at his best friend being "turned" gay by him.
Also, I was thinking of how to describe the difference btw the novel and the series. But basically, in the novel, it's about life and more about how Qian raised himself and the kids and the company. No, more like how he raised himself, not the company. While the series revolves more around the romance. They cut a lot of people and arcs out, so the whole experience really is only reading the novel. The series is more about Yuan and the romance. Not saying it's bad, quite the contrary. I love it and it was the whole reason I went after the novel.
yep! A lot of people in our comments always compare the show with the novel but I always focus on just experiencing the show/series as its own thing, separate from the novel. I think it’s better that way!
@@BriPhilTVofficial oh for sure, if we compared every single thing in adaptations we'd go crazy instead of enjoying. They did an amazing work at adapting what they could and choosing what of it they bring for the viewers that haven't read either.
Oh yeah!! I think the most important thing is that the show is enjoyable on its own, for non-readers especially. It’s needs to be a good experience on its own, without relying on ever needing to read the book at all. And I think it succeeds in that!
The reason so much stuff was left out was because they lack budget, but despite that they manage tell a beautiful story.
@@amnanasir473 yeah! As someone who has never read the novel, I never felt like the story in the show felt incomplete. It felt like a good natural progression and had a nice satisfying ending!
