Build the strongest possible ford 9 with a selectable locker

- Working on the Jeep Comanche rear axle (ford 9 inch). With the backbone truss installed the only thing left to do to beef up the axle is a bottom plate to drag over rocks, and finish up the last few inches of welding on the ends, after the disk brake brackets are welded on.
I went with the 35 spline ARB locker because an air locker is the only selectable option for the ford rear. this allows me to use a 35 spline shaft from a Ford Bronco aftermarket parts company called Wildhorses4x4. this is the same axle shafts that a one ton axles have in them. Before, I probably wouldn't ever break the stock 31 spline axle shafts, but for 37" tires, I'll feel like I'm playing in a whole other league. Of course I may have to beef up the front axle in the future with some stronger axles, but that's a story for another video.

That is cool that you can buy a complete third member so you didn't have to set up the gears and locker.
It worked out since I wanted the stronger iron anyway. I'm kinda broke now tho lol.
@BlackAndBlueGarage haha i get that. Lockers alone are $1k. I went cheap on got auto lockers. I have a lock right in the front that i paid $90 for and a detroit in the rear that i paid $325 for.
@@ProjectXJ that would've been smarter but I want differential braking and then I tell myself "well, the 35 spline center is the same price". Before you know it, I've overdone a thing again. I ran a lunchbox locker in a Chevy, I was impressed.

Where'd you get the axle housing breathers from? Last time I went out, I managed to snag the hose on the rear axle and pulled it off. Fortunately I didn't go through deep water with the hose off. Looks like these will solve that issue.
