2021 Bee Install - How to install package bees in multiple hive setup

We installed our package bees in a dual side by side hive the same day. See the step by step approach we took to keep the bees safe and calm. We ordered 4 lb packages with queens and received Italian bees from Portland this year. We are gardening in zone 5b near Chicago so bees arrived April 4th with good weather, but we have had success with colder weather and rain/ snow. Our honey bees are meant to be a main component of the horticultural vision for the Blank Slate Gardens and our setup is meant to allow space for outdoor activities as well as honey production/ pollination. With over 4,000 new plants expected on the property this spring/ summer, we intend to provide a safe and chemical free zone for fauna and pollinators.
