@ian_1 the only reasons he has done so is because his 'Alan Partridge' type character has gained him a huge following from supporters of other clubs, doubled with Man Utd's decline in recent years, Mark has shifted somewhat from his initial swipes at all other fan bases into a more neutral way at looking at things coincidentally as his subscriber count grows.
Sorry, but been following Goldridge for a few years. Yes he's a Manc, but his analysis and opinions are usually very thought provoking, he could easily work for my favourite CZcams site, redmen TV, but hey he's a manc
unlike haaland, darwin nunez has not been proven like him. The season before the past one I believe he scored 15 goals in all competitions. Your present rival City signed haaland a guy even with injuries last season was 2nd best scorer in Germany and he scored 20+ goals. You should have let him stay another season in Portugal to see if he would have a similar season or a drastically different one.
From a club who were so badly managed by Hicks & Gillet and hours from administration to in my opinion one of the best run clubs in the world. FSG have been critical when they appointed Klopp, their appointment of recruitment directors, the financial restructuring, rebuilding of the stadium and shop… great players in at cost… those that don’t work sold out at profit and a wage structure that keeps a unified dressing room. I wish good management for all football fans… even the Mancs. As fans we deserve it and nobody deserves an Ashley, Hicks/Gillet or Glazer.
Nobody like the Glazers but they've back man utd in transfers. United have spent around $1 billion the past 5 to 10 years. They maybe shitty owners but they given money. Its not there fault that the production in the pitch isn't showing
john they are selling players to fund it, so shut it. Also Klopp wanted to joining LFC pre FSG. They had nothing to do with Klopp coming, they wanted Carlo.
This is a game changer. One of our biggest issues is profligacy in front of goal. Our forwards score loads of goals but they're not actually clinical. Darwin has one of the highest conversation rates in Europe. Higher than even Haaland. With the amount of chances Liverpool create, this guy is going to get a hatful. And that's before we even talk about Klopp developing him.
@@sanele7427 let s see how both fairs in the prem first; we saw plenty of strikers coming from Portugal and Germany ( Slimani when he signed for Leicester in 2016 he banged 35 goals in Portugal) Timo Werner also was a world beater in bundesliga; just as Pulisic and Sancho were, how did that go? I reckon Liverpool know how incredible he is and can become. We wouldnt splash so much without justification, like on Alisson and VVD who are now the best in the world in their positions.
Best in the world in their positions? Well courtois is currently the best keeper in the world after a performance in a CL final like that. and van dijk was mainly at fault for the goal that lost you the CL. Best in the world lol
Well, sometimes the flops are sold for a profit. Sometimes, they quietly leave the club at the expiry of their contract in the summer, ie Karius. But, to your point, the transfers we've made since Klopp came in have been miles ahead of the transfers we made before (Balotelli, Downing and Carroll for example). Klopp has transformed this team from top to bottom, front to back and every other way, bringing in top physios, a top nutritionist, a top assistant in Linders, restructuring the academy system, etc. The best signing FSG has made to date is Klopp. The second best signing is Klopp's recent contract renewal.

We'll sell Mane for 35-40 mill, Minamino for 20, Oxlade Chamberlain for 10-15 and that will more or less cover it. FSG don't spend big unless they're confident of making most, if not all, back in sales. This is what happened when we bought Van Dijk and Allisson, the Coutinho sale of 140 mill to Barca covered those deals.
Klopp doesnt even need a striker becuase he likes wings thats his tactic since he came to Liverpool Im happy they signed Nunez to change his strong ability in wings now Liverpool is gonna be complicated to play with a real striker Klopp cannot deal with him

To all the folks on Twitter saying “look at all the money Liverpool is spending.” Ya, because we earned that right. We play our side into the position to get the extra money and make the transfer deals to create the money. FSG has a plan. This is how you compete against the oil teams.
Yes 67m with 16m add ons is a lot however they have earned a record sum of £580m this year and can easily spend 120m after sales, however this nunez will be paid for with outgoings anyway, I’d expect another big player like nkunku or a cm
Nunez will be fantastic at Liverpool. I'm expecting prime Suarez type of levels. I wouldn't be surprised if Nunez turns out to be a much better signing for Liverpool than Haaland will be for City.
I trust Klopp and Liverpools transfer team to know what he's doing, but I'm still a bit sceptical as it's a lot for one player and his main strength are on a counter team, something Liverpool less and less play with. In today's context, there is really no such thing as too expensive and the Nunez deal despite costing more than Alisson and VvD, still is cheaper than signing of Sancho, Lukaku, Grealish, Kepa, Pogba. And most of these high cost LFC transfers do work out and you know Klopp will always squeeze every last bit of performance per dollar out of them to make it worth every single penny.
The problem with us [Liverpool] is that we need two CM’s as well (one world class). Henderson isn’t good enough to start every week and Thiago is injury prone. We need at least one world class or almost world class midfielder at the least.
@Tikitakared we could, we have spend 150m on nunez and diaz together, selling our players will make 100m, idk if fsg will tho, winning the ucl really was a huge loss for us financially, since we lost out on 100m that we could of spent this summer aswell
@@AA-rd2se getting to the final in the champs league and winning a couple of trophies boosted our income whether we won it or not. That's the ultimate price of failure Mr goldbridge! Not only in terms of on the pitch but off probably more so in that the big marquee signings are always more likely to turn to established successful clubs rather than transitional ones with no guarantee of any success for a couple of years at least. Liverpool do great, smart business. If they bring in a player like sangraré this summer I think they’d be done with the view or Bellingham for the following year being my preference for them. They’ve got plenty of young talent that will be pushing on the next few years too. Scary good job they’ve done.

Very refreshing to hear some honesty from a United fan this is. As a Liverpool fan myself, I do understand where you are coming from. For 25 years I watched our targets go to Chelsea, United and Arsenal and it’s a painful process.
Liverpool and utd are in different situations.. Liverpool are topping up and tinkering. Utd need the cash to sign in multiple key areas. No brainer for nunez also… Liverpool have assets that they can sell to raise funds (they will get 40m for mane) whereas utd literally can’t give away players.
United aren't competing with the likes of Liverpool and City now anyway. Becoming better than all the teams below them is the main concern of United's now. Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal etc will be difficult competition for those positions.

A very fair assessment, from a Liverpool point of view. One thing I will say is that to be mentioned as fighting with Man City is a huge compliment, because let's be honest, Liverpool have no right to be competing at that level and yet they're doing a decent job of it at the moment. It does however feel like a very unlevel playing field.
@@vishwasshankar3929 No. What I mean is that Liverpool have no right to be where they are compared to city. When we compare the finances of both clubs, that is where Liverpool have no right. However, Liverpool are doing a grand job of punching above their weight and the entire hierarchical management structure should be congratulated for that.
Well said Mark. Right now its a no brainer for any aspiring player. Join a team thats competing for everything or join a project that might take a few years before you’re competing.
As man city fan obviously i didn't want him to be Liverpool player but i am excited to see the levels man city and Liverpool can push each other next year
Liverpool have received a lot of credit for their recruitment process in recent seasons and rightly so. Even with the lead man in that department Michael Edwards having departed, the man who was his understudy Julian Ward has taken up the reins. But I think that just shows the German influence in the club because it's not just the case that the individual beats you but it's the system.
Yes it is a good system but its the FSG system. Look at the trend, sign players in early 20s or even teens, and pay them sensible wages and then get the best years out of them before selling them on, or just letting them go, after you have had the best years out of them.
Darwin Nunez is a rough diamond who will sparkle under Klopp. At the moment it is all about the potential, but Liverpool really do their homework on potential transfers
I agree. We really haven't had an outright striker for quite awhile. Bobby, when he came, wasn't really a striker, he was the one who created the spaces for our other 2 to score. Sadio, Mo Diogo and Luis aren't really strikers either. Those 4 guys are more effective when the come off the wings. Nunez is more of a true striker with some very good skill with both feet and a brilliant header of the ball. Trent and Andy should have some success with crosses they put into the box, with Darwin as the target man.

Great to see such a exciting player coming to my club and the premier league. Success is never guaranteed but you have to take risks to get rewards. Personally I think he will terrify most defences, the big question will be how quickly he adapts to the UK game.
The good news to take as a utd fan is atleast Fab has confirmed Ten Hag wasnt involved in any of the chasing, meaning any and all embarrassment on Utd is taken by the recruitment team (again). From a club who were so badly managed by Hicks & Gillet and hours from administration to in my opinion one of the best run clubs in the world. Liverpool's transfers has been so successful since 2017. I mean Salah, Van Dijk, Fabinho, Alisson etc. Even the flops are sold at a profit

That's the ultimate price of failure Mr goldbridge! As an Liverpool fan I'm absolutely delighted to hear this signing is getting done, because at the end of the day this league has two monsters maybe three including Chelsea in terms of finances, man City and don't forget Newcastle. One thing I will say is that to be mentioned as fighting with Man City is a huge compliment, because let's be honest, Liverpool have no right to be competing at that level and yet they're doing a decent job of it at the moment. It does however feel like a very unlevel playing field.
