Guyanese Duck Curry with Bombay Lemonade

- Chef Devan Rajkumar & Bombay Lemonade team up once again to demonstrate an absolute classic Guyanese dish - Duck Curry, Dhal & Rice. They share the same passion for the Guyanese food as they do the culture and in this video they speak on the history of the dish while cooking up a legendary feast for the senses. Be sure to watch until the end to witness another Wiri Wiri Pepper Challenge.
Duck Curry:
4 lbs duck, cut into 2-3” pieces and cleaned
5 wiri wiri pepper
¼ cup garlic clove
2 tbsp turmeric powder
3 tbsp curry powder
3 tbsp garam masala
2 tbsp jeera powder
1 small onion
1 cinnamon stick
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tsp kosher salt
Dhal
1 cup of yellow split peas
2L of water
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp curry powder
¾ tsp turmeric
2 wiri wiri pepper
1 small onion
1 tsp kosher salt
1 garlic clove
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 cup frozen spinach

Wow, the duck curry looks amazing and the daal is spot on 👍💯. It was such a delight to watch both Chef Dev and Bombay Lemonade cook together. Food looks delicious 😋. About the dahl and the hand blender; I believe as years goes by we get smarter with stuff. I been using a hand blender for a few years now, it's easy and effective. Very convenient 👌

Hello. Looks good but how come you all didn't season the duck meat?
In Guyana style cooking we do not season the meat before cooking whatever meats curry we making but we added all the green seasoning n dried seasoning as we cook a long and at the end we have a delicious curry to go with roti or rice n dhal

Would you recommend seasoning the duck meat prior to adding it to the pot or just pretty much wash the meat up the way you guys did and just fry it up in the curry ? Does it make a huge difference seosoning it prior to cooking ?
