Should these dampers have resistance all the way through the entire compression stroke? My Samsung washers only a year or two old, the dampers look fine but they have that kind of loose, no resistance spot except it's more towards the middle or end of the compression stroke instead of right at the beginning like you are showing.
I only checked the rear and they only seem to have that kind of dead spot in the same area at the bottom of the stroke.

All dampers should be firm all the way from beginning to end of each stroke. Regardless of manufacturer. Any dead spot will cause the machine to shake. If yours has any dead spots it’s best to replace them. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

I’ve got a brand new Samsung washer that was having problems shaking at the begging of the spin cycle. Once it sped up to a good speed it would calm down a little but still a bit more shaky than I felt it should be. Sometimes it would even stop the spin cycle and try to restart. I took off the rear shocks and there would be about a half inch of dead spot until it felt stiff. Is this common in your experience?

I’ve only worked on my lg washer so I don’t know. If you have a brand new machine call a service tech to do warranty work.

I swear! Are you in our house?! LOL! Here is another fix for a problem I've been experiencing. Was the machine squeaking? Our LG has started squeaking at the beginning of the wash cycles. It's also been spinning at a higher speed even though we have it set for lower. When it's done you can smell something like an oil smell.

lol that’s why I’m bill of all trades. There wasn’t really a squeak. It was more of a spring going twang on the load sense cycle. The spin cycle also seamed too fast on ours. And the only thing preventing it from going across the room was the water hoses holding it back. I could hear it two floors up in the house. Now all is smooth.
