    In no way a classically trained musician, self taught, but hot damn the accuracy of each note, bow stroke, and pizzicato all rolled into one!? Even I can tell this is music few people alive are able to play it the way it sounded when Paganini performed it. Even more impressive is how incredibly far ahead of the time this kind of solo violin piece was. This is the sound of genius level musical advancement right here.

    Paganini didn't write the score, this was done by Carl Guhr by memory after several visits of Paganini's performances. He participated in quartets with Paganini.

    This is arco and pizzicato at the same time. If it was an open string thats one thing. The fact that its fingered notes while playing a menuetto. I can barely open a jar of peanut butter without hurting myself.

    Lots of black notes on these pages...reminds me of the Beethoven Sonata Patheque' (first movement) I played for my solo recital where by when...My teacher was grooming me to be a concert pianist. Just never happened. All I have from that recital (I was 17) are the memories, a guest book of names and a sheet of song titles. I don't even have a recording. I had about 80 guests. Aw, yes...those were the days, my friend...Thanks for the share, Norbs....
