One i pull my dipstick out ,i put it back in and push it to make sure its all the way in then i recheck it!Im glad i ran acroos the video i really thought i was losing my mind!😅😅😅I also notice i smell a little burnt oil smell sometimes!
YES! Thank you for having very clear and helpful instructions! This is the only video that answered my questions.
Great!!!!
I’m using a Liqui Moly 5w-40 it’s a really good German oil and approved by all German brand cars !
I believe as long as the levels are between the two arrows you are good to go. The oil does not need to be at max level line.
Thank you for the instructions. I almost had a stroke when I checked the oil after driving 1,000 miles straight and it came out empty!
Why did they design a dipstick that's so hard to see?
It's Mercedes. They like to be fancy. Count your blessing, the newer engines don't have a dipstick at all.
Thank you for posting, temperature definitely affects dipstick readings.
If youre lucky enough NOT to have a dipstick, here is the procedure: Step 1 - Locate disptick. Step 2 - ????? Step 3 - $$$$$
Stay gold.
Thank you brotha! Awesome video, finally figured out how to get a proper reading on my dip stick!
Great. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!
Thank you so much Sir for the video.
I almost lost my mind thinking of excessive engine oil consumption.
Happy to help
This video made me sane again, I've been getting the check oil light in the morning for 3 days now. I was a quart shy this whole time thinking the pressure sensor was bad. Thank you sir.
Your Welcome!!!
A quart shy threw your oil light? Wtf😭
Did it say “check oil after next refueling” ?
@@JimyOfficial ya it did
@@xxforeverkissedxx6132 same just happened to me. I put 6 quarts in and it read that. I thought as long as it’s not almost empty that wouldn’t come on
thank you my friend, this is a good video I learned a lot.
It makes me happy that people learn. I try to make everything easy as possible.
Excellent video. Thank you. I have a CLS 550 with m273 and its tricky to get a clear oil reading sometimes.
Glad you enjoyed it
My kid just bought a 2003 S500 and the oil / tranny dipsticks are on the passenger side. BTW, you only need to wait 10 minutes after shutting down to check oil. No need to wait overnight in freezing weather!
Thank you!
appreciate you
Thats a good video bro
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!
Excellent
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!
Good video!! I am in the process of changing my oil (no dipstick) when l checked the oil level the message says, “oil level currently not available.” You know anything about this right off? I am thinking because the engine is cold.
Start and let the engine run. Check the oil while the engine is running.
"Go ahead.....make my day"
Hello. I can check my oil level in the same way at a Mercedes S 63 AMG coupe? Thanks. I verified the oil and i was dissapointed, it seems that the level isn't ok....it has 86.000 km. I'm worried sick....
Warm up your car for 5 minutes, then turn it off and pull the dipstick out. Check your oil level on the stick. Be prepared to have 1 to 2 quarts of oil in your trunk 0W40 or 5W40 Mobile 1 Synthetics or whatever grade your car uses.
Thanks for another great video. I recently changed the oil on my 2015 S550 4Matic (W221 engine correct?) . I used an oil an oil extractor through the dipstick. I only got 7 quarts out. I replaced 7 quarts and will check oil level. One thing I would like to pass on is this: “a tow truck mechanic once told me to always wait until the RPM drops below 1000 mark or wait a little until the vehicle reaches idle” then you drive off. This he said reduces the pressure in engine which is what you want! I am not a mechanic but I did what he said with an old RR I had and I never broke down on the road anymore, smile. The vehicle coolant reservoir/hose was always bursting when I started the vehicle and just go….after doing what he said… it never happened again. What are your thoughts on this?
I agree 100% wether the car is brand new or used I wait for my tach to drop to 1000 rpm. That's solid advice you can pas down. The only exception is if the car is electric. lol
@@WayneARobertson you are hilarious with that electric car remark. lol. Thanks again
incorrect, your car is W222, but that's not the engine that's model number "w" stands for wagon, and your engine is M278 "M" stands for motor. :)
Can i make same check for W212 E250 CDI ?
Not sure about that, so you must test the theory.
💎
My dipstick is in a different spot... it's in the front... yours is in the back.. we have the same car.... 🤷🏾♂️
Yes some engines ate different but similar
European oil!
X200 😂😂😂. X@w
Thank you!
