Thanks for joining me this year in this watercolor journaling journey. I hope to paint in my journal most days of the year and invite you to join me. We don't need big resolutions, just gentle intentions to tend to our creative soul a little bit everyday. And learn a little something along the way.

The pink makes it fun and different! Thank you for this tutorial!
I liked the leaf colors the pink made it pop
Beautiful bird painting and I liked the red leaves! So striking and entertaining to watch you make the birds eye. You make painting very real.
😁😁😁
I really like this one! I think the red really makes it pop especially since it’s an illustration. It adds to the whimsy if that makes any sense.😊. I also appreciate seeing what you think are mistakes and learning from that as well. Thank you! 😊
That makes total sense. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😁
I followed this tutorial and it's my favourite thing I've ever painted!!!!
I’m so happy to hear that. Thank you for following along. 😁
I think all the cool colors are nice but if it’s hanging on the wall I wouldn’t stop to look at it but the addition of the reddish color would make me stop and admire the painting.
So pretty! Tomorrow will be a chance to try this. I find it helpful to watch, and then I attempt a sort of "paint along"!
I like the color pallette
Love the redish!
Like the red!
Thankyou it's windy in Wyoming also..have a awesome day..
New here and i think this is very cute. Can't wait to try. I love painting birds. 😊
Love it - love it - it makes me super cheerful and I need that!
I can’t wait to try this as soon as work slows down a bit - I look forward to a a weekend of watercolor sometime this spring I hope. This is making me look forward to it even more!
So glad you love it!
I like the red addition
Love your colors - all of them😍
Love the colors including the red.
Planning on trying the cool palette! I like both, but I’m a cool color person.
Very fun!
Have enjoyed all of your creative journal watercolor CZcams videos. Very friendly voice and great painting tips. Received my first watercolor journal today looking forward to starting it.
Thank you! Enjoy your new journal 😊
I really love the addition of the red leaf. Very sweet painting!
The colors are great. A little different start to the video. I was thinking how did I miss it?
Thank you for explaining it through. Have a great day😊
Love this one!
I like this a lot. Colors are great. I might have thought to add a smidge of the pinky salmon as a highlight under the wing. Maybe?
Great suggestion. Thanks for watching.
I struggle with the basic bird shape. They always end up looking like a cross between a werewolf ( that hump) and a misshapen balloon. What a gorgeous piece. Love it all
😂 a werewolf? This cracked me up. Try to keep it simple. Print out a picture of a bird and trace it out a few times until your brain starts to really understand the basic shape of the bird. Happy painting.
I like the pallette for this pic. Nothing is jarring to my eye.I enjoy your style and the moments you show the mistakes. Not everyone does.
I love birds and this one, I’m going to try. I really loved it without the red leaves. Thank you for this tutorial.
I painted it!! I was pleased with the first trial 5x7" will attempt 8x10 next. Masking the eye worked well. It was fun. Thank you for sharing!
What a lovely birdy 🐦😍. I hope I can give it a go today in the evening! In my opinion the adding of the red leaves change the season from summer to autumn. I like both versions a lot and will try for a "spring" version.
Super❤
Love the little birdie! The color palette for the leaves is very pleasing before the red but it is much more whimsical and fits the bird"s style
once you added the red shades!
I’m excited he’s so sweet and colors for leaves are so fun I’m looking forward to do him.😊❤
For my person art journey ….. what I call the “eye beak” angle is THE most important aspect to bird painting. ClaudiaSJI
Hi, I really like the both even it's very different with the red. I learn a lot with you.... Thanks a lot, I love your videos.😍
Thank you! I’m still torn between the two! 😊
Love your illustrative bird! I appreciate how you share your thoughts and learning process. I am excited to try your bird this afternoon.
Love the colors of the leaves, so much!!! Such a cute bird!!!!
Shana, this was another great video, one of your best! I loved the colour palette you chose. I would never have been brave enough to add that muted pink (or the green tail on Mr. Bird!) but the whole colour scheme turned out lovely 🐦🍃🍂🩷 It was strange that just after you spoke of how windy it was over there today your video went wobbly for a second. I hope all your beautiful trees withstood the windstorm and that everything is okay 🙏 Thank you for sharing this with us today, it’s definitely one I’m going to try very soon 👏❤️✨
PS I just got some QoR paints delivered to me yesterday and unfortunately the tube of Indigo had a little hole near the top and, sheesh! This is the second time this has happened with QoR paint, the last time with the hole being at the crook of the bottom of the tube. I just couldn’t believe it! Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? With ANY brand?
Thank you Didi! I have never had that problem with my paints. Did you order them directly from QOR or from Amazon? So weird that it happened twice!
@@shanacirce2667 I ordered them from an independent chain of art stores called HACHEM here in Canada. I just thought it was too much of a coincidence, it’s never happened with any other brands, that’s what’s so weird and why I thought I would check. Thanks for taking the time to reply 🤗
Love the one with ALL THE colours… cant wait to have a go at this….. you make it look so easy😉😂
Really love your choice of colours, unusual & so effective. Thank you for sharing.
Ooh. I just had some new paints and can't wait to paint along!
I like the pop of Coral!
Very cute bird. Thank you!
I love this bird and color pallet. I will be trying this soon. Not sure how the branches will turn out since I struggle alot painting thin lines.
This is lovely, and I just got some indigo. Thanks Shana 😊 ❤
Good morning, Shana! I love the warm leaves that you added! It gives it a very pretty pop of color! I think I will also add some leaves behind my bird like he is hiding. Thank you again! I also think I need to get that journal. Is yours the hot press? 😊
Mine is cold press. They do sell out of Cold press often. Hopefully they get more in soon.
I think I'll use masking for the eye before painting.
Great solution.
Shana is there a chance you could do a full and half a pomegranate please. Xx. I likes the leaves both ways but it did look good with the touch of orange
That would be fun. I will add it to my list.
I love this and have practiced painting it twice. I bought Qor paints and tried to match the leaves but I didn't get close either time. Very pretty tho.
Keep practicing and you will get it. Thank you for watching. 😁
@@shanacirce2667 I found your color mixing videos. I’m going to watch those too and practice. Thank you for sharing your expertise. My friend and I love your videos.
🐈⬛🐈⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🦋🦋
So nice❤ Do you think you could do a dolphin or a seal? Thank you. I'm loving your practice
I will add them to the list.
@@shanacirce2667 thank you🥰
😅The painting is definitely better with the contrasting red leaves.
Shana I am curious, I noticed this on an earlier video too where it looked like the page your were making the tutorial drawing on was upside down to the opposite page. Is it ? Like this bird and the flowers opposite ? The other instance was where you had silhouette whimsy reeds/weeds on a pinky sky on the opposite page ( forgot the subject of the tutorial) . Do you remember it 😛.
Not that it makes any difference, was just wondering why, or am I seeing things 🤪?
You’re not seeing things! You are right on. I flip my book back and forth so I am always painting on the right side of the book. It helps me keep my painting hand off the previously painted page and helps me keep the painting palette in frame. I hope that makes sense. You don’t have to flip your book if it drives you crazy having them upside down to each other.
Got it. That makes sense especially when filling. Thank you
