- Welcome to my How to knit a cardigan tutorial for beginners and all.
This is my way of knitting a caridgan and it works well for me. It's simple and works well with adding different colors. I don't knit a cardigan a tradition way - maybe one day i'll try.
I hope you enjoy it and make beautiful cardigans with it.

This is the clearest and fastest tutorial for knitting a cardigan I have ever seen!!! Thank you so much! Sooo friendly for my ADHD attention span, and the perfect amount of description for me to actually understand what I am doing. Absolutely incredible; you are such a life saver!!!
…this is the sweetest… thank you so much. I’m truly soo happy to have provided something that suits your needs ❤ i’m glad you’re able to know what you’re doing! Knitting can be fairly easy! (Even though i don’t do it traditionally 😂 )
Much love n respect. ❤
You are amazing I’m a crocheter and I wanted to knit my first cardigan and this is the perfect tutorial!!!
Ty! I been
Searching foreve for
Simple beginner pattern
You're really good at not only demonstrating but also extremely good at explaining. I think I am going to give this a try once I can get my hands on some circular needles. Do you have any recommendations ? I was going to order from amazon but many knitters have left terrible reviews of the the ones I was looking at so i'm back to square 1.
oh my wow... thank you
This is so helpful thank you so so much for including links for me as well. They are sold out on the website but I will be using the information you gave to find some solid needles. You have a very wonderful day !!!
@@Truechildofgod yeah :( unfortunately!! and if i see anything else i’ll link it for you! You’re most welcome!! 🙏🏿✨😇🙏🏿 Good luck finding too!!

The sweater is beautiful and easy to make! I love that you gave us a short video, most cardigan videos are 1 1/2 !! too too long. Thanks
can you make this with straight needles?
Yes!! You can for the body!
For the arms - you will have to knit those flat aswell and then attach the sides of the sleeves together so they are closed & then you can attach it to the body.
Ive personally never done that! I’ve seen it many times though :) ❤
Let me know if you have any other questions
Saved & subscribed!! One questions please, what do you mean by adding 12 stitches to the back panel, do you mean completely (as in starting cast on with 62 stitches) or am I supposed to increase stitches mid way through from 50 to 62? On a personal note, this video made me so happy... my aunt taught me to knit when I was little, and I was always amazed how fast she was, she knitted the same way as you do! I've just started getting back into in, and my way of doing it is so much slower haha. Hopefully I can copy your technique a little and pick up speed over time :-)
hello hello
I love this. How many yarn balls did you use?
Thank you!! ❤ typically i need around 1300yards for a cardigan! for a size S/M or a medium.
I would need 1 skein and a half ish.
@@kiarashooks444 thanks❤️
this is so good I'm trying my best! just a question tho, what does 1 panel actually mean? is it like, one half of the front or back? because I think I might need to add more stitches if that's that's case x
Thank you 🥲 and yes, I might have referred 1 panel = half of the front. You should have 2 front panels and 1 back panel!
Good luck 🍀 🥹🥰
hi! this is very cute cardigan and thanks so much for the tutorial! I just have a question, what is the measurement of the back panel? it says you used the sizes of the two front panels (so 48+48 which adds up to 96) with plus 12 for the neck area? how does that work? do you do increases at some point, (when you reach arm height i.e.?
Thank you kindly. I appreciate that ❤️
back panel = 48 stitches + 12 stitches + 48 stitches. You cast on 108 stitches. ( this will be very oversized)
But yes, thats what I do! no increases you cast on 108 and make rows up until your panel is as tall as it needs to be.
Hope that clears it up ❤️ cheers
thanks!
Hey love! Thanks so much for this tutorial, my question is, how many stitches did you count on the panels for the arms pieces? Just wondering what’s a good average
Also, I’m wondering about the smaller sweater you showed in the end- I think I’d like to attempt the smaller size first. It’s my first cardigan. I like how the sleeves are wide at the bottoms did that come out naturally or did you add stitches as you went along?
Sorry for all the questions! But how many yard of yarn did you use for the second if you can remember?
@@TayPal1 So for the sweater at the end of the video - i casted on 38-44 stitches. I think kept knitting until the sleeves hit my hands. There were no increases made along the way.
@@TayPal1 no problem :) i'm happy to help! for that sweater, it was a mixture of skeins. All the different colours were different skeins. I tend to use 1300 yards for a whole sweater/caridgan! I am a size S/M and sometimes just medium.
Hi! I’m measuring (shoulder to
Shoulder), and it’s 20in for back panel,
How many do I cast ?
Hello ❤ i’m not 100 percent sure but i am 15-16 inches shoulder to shoulder and i cast on 45 stitches! ❤
@@kiarashooks444 ty goddess!!
What size needles are you using
8mm knitting needles :D
