I'm so glad my parents aren't like this! They always told us, and still do tell us that we can live with them for as long as we'd like! They would never allow us to pay rent or kick us out of the house at a certain time! I do grocery shop for them (which I love) and I have to do the dishes and vacuum, which are my LEAST favorite chores 😝 Considering that's all they ask of me, I have nothing to complain about

12:10 I hate it when people think parents are only ever right, do no wrong and are 100% perfect. Coming from a household where I was being emotionally and socially abused by my parents, but more specifically, my MOTHER, I found their take on it extremely biased and one-sided. It would really help to have a perspective from someone who didn't come from a "respect and obey" type of personality.

Also, being a parent isn't a "job". Jeannie was being hella extra with that. It's a responsibility, sure, but, to compare it to getting vacation hours, holiday pay, sick leave etc was too fucking much.
