- Beginning of 2018 we made a great trip on the former RMS. St. Helena, one of Great Britains last remaining royal mail ships. We plannend to set sail from Cape Town to St. Helena, a 5 day journey on the wide Atlantic Ocean. Because it was the second last journey of this ship as the RMS we made a little detour via Tristan da Cunha, another 5 days of extra sailing! You can imagine we where happy to set foot on Tristan da Cunha, also known as the most remote inhabited island on the world.

Ive sailed on the rms many times and every time was special. How i miss her.
A great video ,brings back memories of when I made the same trip on the RMS ,I didn’t have to climb down a rope ladder though.
Good to hear David. It was a very special last trip of the RMS to Tristan da Cunha. We felt lucky we where on it and to be able to visit this remote part of the world.
Wonderful!
I am eager to visit Tristan da cunha ☺️
Beautiful. I’d love to see all the footage though, before it was so condensed.
How long was the trip on water?
It depends on your route. We had a route which took us from Capetown via Tristan da Cunha. So it took considerably longer than a direct line, at least 10 days on the sea.
Hey amazing video!! Just wanted to know if there is anyway that we can reach st Helena on a ship!! Thanks in advance
Thank you Saiyo. I'm sure there are numeral possibilities. Check bark Europa for instance.
