      I hope to get one! I was pricing a base model Tikka T3X 243, but it needs threaded, needs cerakote, dang sure needs a new chassis, and by the time you put that into it, it’s more expensive than this gun, and you still get more with this one! Lots of value here, it looks like!

    • @leonardogarcia2506
      @leonardogarcia2506 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@lauraburandt2655 I agree 100%. I have quite a few tikkas and Sakos, and for the money, if left as is, they’re a great rifle for the money. At least the base models. I was drawn to them because of how easy they are to barrel swap, but it doesn’t end there! Lol. By the time you customize your $700-$800 Tikka, you could easily spend another $2k on top of the original purchase price. So far, the only negative I’ve heard about this weatherby, is they have feeding problems with their magazines in the 7mm prc. From what I’ve read, it sounds like they’ve addressed the issue by changing magazines. I’ve heard nothing but good things as far as accuracy and handling. If you decide to purchase one, be sure to give an update and your thoughts on the rifle! Happy shooting!

    Weatherby if you're seeing these comments, selling just actions is going to be huge too. Not saying you need to copy Aero Precision, but you have the chance to really corner the entry market with selling an action at a price that many are comfortable with, and this will allow more companies to offer accessories and components to build around you. Many companies in this industry fail because they are too proprietary in which no other company offers barrels, bolts, accessories and things like that. You have the opportunity to really change the direction of your company in the market.

      From .243 and .240 Wby to .300 PRC and .300 Wby, those are some great options, especially when the .243 and .240 have fast 1:7.5" twist rates, which makes them far more interesting. I'd love to see a fast .22, like .22-250 with fast twist available.

    Great work and great foresight on the parts interchange. In today's marketplace too many companies want to make proprietary products that they think are going to capture all the market share. Consumers want a reliable well built base to start with that they can tweak and mix parts with to find what they want or perceive as an advantage. Weatherby looks to have given us a great platform to build off of and I bet they sell a boat load of them. Best wishes on your new venture.

    It's interesting to see that there are companies trying to build a premium action using 6-lug designs on a Rem700 footprint, and Weatherby who already has a superb 6/9lug design going backward. Isn't it the very reason Roy Weatherby built the Mark V action because he wasn't satisfied with the Rem700 type action? I would personally consider a Mark V rifle built to the modern PRS specs. I already own a Vanguard and a Bergara, there's just no point of getting the 307.

    A step in the right direction for sure, but if they really want to get more customers from other brands they need to come out with more calibers like 6mm creed and 6.5prc. I see they have 7prc as an option which is good, but they need to stop pushing their proprietary ammo which is never available. I think if they swallowed their pride, released the 307 in more calibers and came out with a few different colors for the stock, they would seriously take a large section of the market, including me, with the $1200 XP, especially for that price and what you’re getting.

      @@weatherby More? That's awesome! There is already quite a selection of cool cartridges, can't wait to see what else you guys will offer - that's something Weatherby always does well... nearly too many options haha!

    Carbon fiber barrel on any 307 ? Springfield armory has a red line that's awesome. I have one and hope to see one in 7mm-08. Not made in USA but I'll have another if they make more cal. Choice's.

    Probably sell well with the cool crowd. Big nope for me. Not into dirt trap bolts. Not into long magazines that get in the way. If it puts every shot in the same hole I'd consider it even with the warts.

      Get an s2 if possible, the two stage trigger is far better than the original vanguard. I own both and they are super accurate. Or get a howa same barrel and action

    That Jab at California says it is all about not only how bad it is for guns and gun ownership but for business in general. It's damn near a failed state. I just looked at the first one. I like what I see. There just might be a 240 WM in my future. I had an MK V in that chambering way back in the 1980's I liked it a lot, and I gifted it to a guide that put me on to a better-than-good Pronghorn. I have a habit of doing that sometimes.

    What would be nice is if your proprietary ammunition was one half the price so more shooters could enjoy shooting your firearms.

    Wow! Didn't want to click on this. Thought it was a shot gun... This is very cool! Very surprising. Good for Weatherby- rolling with the times. So many questions. Long action? Short action? 7 PRC availible? 7RPM??? Dropping Vangaurd/Howa actions?

    Who will Weatherby follow once this trend subsides and the next is getting long in the tooth? A little late to the party, girls. "Innovation" is definitely not what this is. I don't think its a bad thing. Should've been done decades ago. But you ain't breaking trail in the slightest.
