Citabria Airbatics from a cockpit view

Basic aerobatics (aerobatic?) in an American Champion Aircraft Citabria ("airbatic" spelled backwards!) For many pilots, the Citabria is their first exposure to aerobatic maneuvers, this video demonstrates some of the basic maneuvers that can be performed. This is a demo only, not instruction! For instruction, please seek an aerobatic qualified CFI and an aerobatic aircraft - such as the Citabria! In this video you will see an aileron roll, 4 point roll, loop, Cuban 8, cloverleaf, Immelmann, and a couple of spins.

I had access to a Super Decathalon for a couple of years and competed in the Sportsman sequence at local competitions. You made it look easy. It takes quite a bit of practice to be both smooth and precise, both of which I always desired more of. I never finished in the top of my Sportsman group, but I was competing against owners of aerobatic aircraft. I was renting on a budget, but I did OK and enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for watching! I flew a lot of "aerobatics" in the Air Force - actual aerobatics in the mighty T-37 and then got upside down a lot in training in the F-16

Wheel landing on grass is more forgiving than the asphalt but it’s fun

My apologies, I just saw this comment. I find the Citabria is an excellent airplane for limited aerobatics. If you're looking to learn aerobatics, and fly some but not get too crazy, it's a perfect choice.
