- Throughout their shifts, our patrol deputies respond to emergencies with their lights and sirens activated. They may have to go through stop lights, pass cars, and sometimes pursue vehicles. So how do they learn to safely drive fast and respond to emergencies without making mistakes? The Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) -- that’s how! They train on a closed course at the Washington State Patrol Academy to hone their skills and practice, practice, practice! Here's a glimpse of how they train to stay sharp and safe on the county roads.
I did evoc for AMR in NY 25 years ago. 30 degrees with snow, rain and ice. It was set up at Aqueduct Racetrack. All these young cocky kids failed miserably. The older medic who's been around twenty years (me) nailed the crap out of it. Our operations manager Renee was there and was beaming. The young city kids couldn't handle it. 🤣
not even american but god damn am I jealous of your vehicles right now.

I’m so applying
Thats awesome
I was looking at doing the cjtc course to get my armed gaurd cert. The knight school down in Vancouver offers it as well as the evoc training. Do you think it'd be a good idea as a security gaurd to take the evoc class while I'm down there or would that not be very relevant? Was also gonna do my asp certs for oc spray and handcuffs too just incase any job I get requires me to carry them I'd rather be legally certified to since I know a lot of gaurds aren't which could land them in legal trouble down the road.
What purpose would you need evoc training as a security guard?
@@SamHouston03 maybe private security for wealthy people.

Pierce county , huh? Didn't the state of Washington ban any and all vehicle pursuits? I remember hearing a story on the news when some guy was being chased by the cops in Washington and the criminal called 911 telling the dispatcher that the cop couldn't chase him and told the dispatcher to tell the cops they were breaking the law....Sad part, the criminal was technically right...lol..
