Welcome to Canada!! I Love your home!! It’s such a cute space. I love cozy tiny spots like this. It’s perfect, easy to maintain, keep clean and it has every thing you need!! Amazing find!!
For the bathroom, I would suggest baskets from the dollar store and putting your skin care products in them and on the shelf under the counter. That way you can take the basket out as opposed to knocking everything over to get to something in the back. Temu (similar to amazon except everything extremely more affordable) has under the counter two tier shelves which will help maximize storage for you. Also you can find over the toilet shelving as well… again super affordable and good quality!! you'll find a lot of useful stuff. im addicted and im also furnishing a small space.. Hello Winifredkal, your video popped up and I thought 200 sq ft apartment tour no way!!!
So I had to check it out - you've done an amazing job. My suggestions would be I would love to see a mirror or picture covering the electric box, the space between your bed and kitchen could house your linens and shoes in the closet or still keep slippers/tennis shoes and then maybe a small artificial plant. Maybe add some decorative baskets above shelves in the kitchen, hang a light weight curtain with tension rod in front of washer.

It is worth it cos where I was before moving to my new place, I was paying CAD1250 for a basement where I had my room with my washroom, but I was sharing the kitchen and the washer and dryer with two others. The landlord didn't even want to furnish the living area and then talk of a dining area to eat. Don't get me started on the way the fridge was always getting spoilt, and the landlord said if the three of us living in the basement wanted a good fridge, we must buy a new fridge or maintain the refrigerator. So you can imagine how we couldn't purchase foodstuff, neither could we cook and save some in the fridge cos they always went bad….. the story goes on and on... I'm proud of you and very happy you now have space. God is really good. There is nothing good than having your privacy, peace and comfort.

This is a good price (below market value) for a studio in Vancouver, especially with in suite laundry (which conservatively costs about $40/month at a laundromat), although this place is somewhere between a studio and a housekeeping room, with an attached bath. I'm also in the GVRD, in a laneway house that's technically bigger (400 sq ft) but you enter at ground level and come up a flight of stairs, which eats about 65 or 70 sq ft. My kitchen is bigger than yours, and I have a 30" gas stove and full height apartment fridge. Having better cooking options makes life easier for sure. My suggestions would be that you get a toaster oven and keep it put away in a cupboard or drawer, except when using it. I also didn't see a saucepan with a lid. With one lidded pot, a frypan, and a toaster oven you can cook practically anything and it will be both cheaper and healthier than eating out. (I use my microwave mostly for steel cut oatmeal in the winter, and reheating leftovers, but it's also great for quick baked potatoes.) My biggest concern is that you cannot eat outside all year round, especially due to the rain. Try to figure out a spot to eat inside (with a folding chair possibly) for those chilly, windy, rainy days. I agree with another comment, that a loft bed might have been more practical, given the tiny footprint you have in the living space but I do love the Hemnes daybed, with the addition of cute pillows along the back. (I have a loveseat that is a full-size sofa bed. Having something that doesn't look like a bed is vital in tiny spaces, or the place looks like a dorm or hotel room.) In a small space, layout is everything and your place is generally well laid out, although the daybed takes up pretty much the entire floor space in the living area and comes quite close to the open shelves in the kitchen. I would eliminate some of the shoes, keep them all elsewhere, and use that space for books but I'm a huge reader. All in all, it's a definite win in my books! Thanks for the tour.

British Columbia is really expensive, CAD 1200 for a studio apartment, im going to Manitoba next week and already found a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment for 850...

I’m not sure how tall you are but perhaps you can find a collapsible step-stool so you can access those high shelves. Put items up there you don’t use all the time.

New subscriber. Your video just popped into my feed. What city are you in? That will help decide how good of a deal you have. The apartment is beautiful! If you need a bigger refrigerator, usually in late July Walmart has the same size of fridge that you have on sale for back to school. You could put it beside your dresser then you could meal prep more. Maybe a basket from a thrift store for your face products?

How much does the rent go for, is this part of someone’s house or is it a Jr. Apt in a complex, also what province are you in. Asking to see how prices stack up between Canada and the US. Is the utilities included in the rent?
It’s $1200 and utilities are included. I’m in BC
It’s a separate building with a separate entrance from the owner’s house.
