I understand that the man looks scary, but Ogerpon if you don't count Mythical, she is the cutest legendary ever
Yes😊
It*
Ogerpon is always 100% female the loyal three on the other hand are always 100% male that's why there is a meme that someone says Ogerpon is not a good guy then people with pitchfork she is a good girl and then they all cheer
She really is
I thought it didn’t have a gender
Teal mask does this thing i HATE in video game stories where you're forced into making a decision and then the narrative punishes you for it. I didn't want to lie to Kieran so it's just incredibly frustrating when the narrative acts like you did some horrible thing by lying to him. The worst part is that here, it wasn't even necessary, imo. He could have just gotten naturally jealous because of ogerpon choosing the character, but no, the player haaaad to lie to him
Man I love railroading
It's kinda the same in the indigo disc, the game asked if I wanted to keep Kieran as a friend and I said no, only for that choice to not matter at all at the end.
@@felipecatano3818thats on you for picking no.
@@felipecatano3818Why would you pick no?
@@BakedBaconBoi cause I wanted to???
I thought the biggest issue is lack of longevity. There is nothing other than Tera raids to do once you beat the story. Game needs a battle facility so bad.
@@iamtree345all the legendaries are shiny locked
Terra raids kinda suck and buggy
@@Maaarrrrkagreed, the only thing thats good about the tera raids is the music
Lots of grinding for BP in the end game. I find it kinda fun tbh. But I understand if other people don’t
@XxDeathxX509 yeah but I meant a battle facility like a battle tower or mansion. It's not impossible to ask for they did the game prior. Mainly cause online sucks.
The only remotely reasonable explanation that I can think of for shiny locking is that there isn’t a black screen before the encounter to show the shiny but even that is flawed because they can merely display the shiny in the overworld
What’s even more bizarre about the legendary is that every single box art legendary came back…except Xerneas and Yveltal. As someone who took the time to grind all the shiny legends in sword and shield, it’s so bizarre they were cut
All Missing Non-Mythical Legendaries:
Xerneas
Yveltal
Zygrade
The Tapus
Type Null Line
Ultra Beasts
I think the real reason why Xerneas and Yveltal were not included is because "balance". I mean, imagine Flutter Mane with Xerneas at the same time on the field or Chi-Yu and Yveltal 💀
I'm mad zygarde isn't in the game or I would be playing the game nonstop till I got it and it's shiny
Regarding level scaling, I can respect the idea that they want certain trainers to canonically be a certain level of strength. Specifically, I’m fine with Team Star and the Titans not being scaled, BUT, we already have a framework from Pokémon Generations which would justify use of level scaling for the gyms. Oh, and they already have quazi-gym badge scaling in the game: Nemona. Her team actually badge level scales and isn’t locked to a certain gym order. They just need to apply that logic to the gyms.
Exactly. It shouldn’t have been hard.
Pokémon Crystal Clear style where each gym (including trainers) can be rematched and each have 16 sets (1 per badge). This unfortunately(?) means you won't run into super-overleveled mons which is sometimes fun but works for the most part
Just one comment, you dont have to complete the story to get the ability to perma-fly as soon as you beat her she will give you the ability.
What's missing is that the upgraded focus feature in The Indigo Disk STILL doesn't specify if the Pokemon you're looking for is shiny.
Could of made BP Perk like the Research Club inventing a Shiny Redar.
True, and with how small, unchaning or both a lot of shinies are... we really needed that over a mark checker
Do masuda then scrub its just plain better.
The base game Area Zero story literally made me cry 😭😭😭😭
Wanna point out;
You don't need to buy the DLC to get the pokemon that were reintroduced in them, you can still transfer them in from Home.
Absolutely! I guess I was more so referring to the idea of being able to catch them/shiny hunt them in the wild but I suppose I should've specified : P
Who's realistically though gonna trade pokemon you had to pat for like ogerpon.
@@unico3love812 Put a shiny level 1 Regigigas on the GTS for an Ogrepon. Guarantee someone will trade for it.
28:00 it’s so they can lock it behind raid giveaways so they can show stockholders their player retention
It was worth it for the story. I had a blast. Sucks that the legendaries are shiny locked though
I agree with the sentiment that the DLC took far too long to release. I enjoyed the DLC much more than I expected, probably because I went through it simultaneously to the main story. But it’s clear that it was designed to be postgame exclusive as the levels cap at 15~ before beating the main game. Shockingly, I was actually able to explore blueberry academy and all 4 biomes before finishing the teal mask but was locked out of the Elite trials etc until completing it but the levels don’t actually scale so I ended up losing to the initial Lacey battle. I don’t like any of the new legendaries from kitakami but the mystery and suspense behind terapagos was pretty cool. But the area zero stuff was so anticlimactic. And the weird celestial remix at the end credits was so jarring.
I feel the Teal Mask is the better of the two halves as it story is pretty self contained but has a good cliffhanger. Teal Mask felt weird because of the Battle League and Area Zero being disconnected. It like I defeated but oh wait we gotta go to Area Zero now.
My only issue with the DLC is that Carmine and her grandfather should've faced some consequences for what they did.
In my opinion, the Area Zero stuff, the dead professor and the time machine stuff was the best story since Gen 5. Not as good but very compelling.
Honestly, The Way Home just makes the rest of the game being so bereft of quality that much more frustrating.
You can tell that despite what was going on behind the scenes, *someone* on the development team cared and cared *a lot.* If the amount of care that was put into The Way Home was present in the rest of the game, Scarlet and Violet would've been something truly special.
@@HunterStiles651 I do hope they learn from this and do this in Gen 10, but my confidence in them is such that I find it difficult to believe this will ever happen.
@@SBaby I'm cautiously optimistic, because Scarlet and Violet were such a PR disaster that it got TPC to at least pay lip service to the idea that Pokemon's current development cycle is unsustainable. Granted, it basically amounted to "we need to utilize our resources better" and they didn't really seem all that interested in longer development times or more manpower, but it's a start.
And I imagine Nintendo having to give out refunds probably helped.
@@HunterStiles651 Money does talk. But the issue is the games still did insanely well. People still played them and literally just suspended their disbelief because it's Pokemon, and the story bolstered it. But they'll definitely need a different approach to the games if they plan to keep them open world.
I personally think it should be open zone, like Legends Arceus was, and not outright open world. You did transition from area to area in that game, but the areas were still large, and the game ran far better there.
The sibling's family isn't the descendant of Ogerpon's owner, they just made the duo some masks to help them blend in.
I would have loved if the rivals in the base game were picked by Geeta for the Area Zero expedition. Since they're all champion level trainers, you need to have beaten The Way Home, and to give the trio more screentime and a formal intro to Kieran and Carmine. Just the fact they were excluded felt odd to me and like a huge missed opportunity. Would have been cool too to have a 4 person raid as phase one with us and the base game squad, then devolve to the 2v1 Titan portion with Carmine and Kieran.
As for the event in the DLC it's already in the game, it's just hidden behind an item. So if you're perusing the Internet be mindful of that if you don't wanna be spoiled
The performance of this game is not defensible
Im not a big fan of Carmine early up to halfway in the Teals Mask dlc. Like i get the grandfather to an extend of not telling the town about the truth out of fear of being exile, but between him not telling Kirean because how young he is or how us and Carmine not telling him we accidentally bumped into Ogrepon in the festival is stupid.
I kinda wish there were more story bits in the Indigo disk before we go to the investigation but thats just me. My only gripe is that i kinda wish that there was some deep skeleton in Geeta closet given how several few gym leaders arent fans of being treated. I do love how we can get all the gym leaders, the teachers talking to each other and even the indigo elite 4s.
Gotta love the extra cutscenes post game implying we caused this but also saved it in the end. Paradox logic, always messing with the brain.
I experienced a crash RIGHT after capturing a shiny Sewaddle in Kitakami, hadn’t experienced anymore after that into The Teal Mask but that was enough for me
I notice in my friend group it’s always violet having the worst issues. I think it’s the motorcycle vs walking animation fucks up the game.
I had finished Violet not too long ago, as soon as I went to Scarlet I noticed the game was running way better
@@BigKettleBoy yeah, I just started my violet game and the constant lag, especially around water is killing me. Like I see the complaints people had to begin with now and it’s annoying as hell. I didn’t have to force close scarlet at all. But violet I do it everyday just so I can move normally because the moment in lags, it won’t unlag even if I move away from the cause of the lag
@@fluffysharkdatazz9460 even in scarlet the water screws everything up but so far that’s all I’ve noticed other than some textures here and there. I made it up to the Electric gym and it’s been running decent.
I never needed to force quit Violet but I would get freeze frames here and there. It could also be your SD card, I changed mine and it worked slightly better
I didn't have a single issue on my old switch. Game: Pokemon Violet
What the dlc is missing is the world ending threat we were all expecting, tera-ble
I would have respected the DLC a lot more if we got a proper battle facility out of it. As a mono-ghost trainer I was not about to train up new teams just to avoid being overleveled, but would have had a lot more fun with the coaches if there were some kind of battle rules. Set all pokemon to level 50 or whatever.
Honestly, i really enjoyed the DLC, but hands down i love the camera upgrades more than anything and legitimately hope we get a camera in all pokemon games moving forward, we have vome along way from Sun and Moon as far as the camera feature is concerned.
I actually never had any of these issues that apparently every single person in the world had. Even the lake ran smoothly for me
SAME
What model is your switch?
I agree it's not as bad in pokemon games. The online raids though when they glitch is another story..
All my Pokemon were either low 80s and a singular LV100 and I still had to stall with Salt Cure
Imo, it felt like they copy and pasted the The Way Home chapter and repackaged it as the 2nd half of the ID dlc. While the Terapagos raid was was more fun than the 500 (from what it felt like) forced paradox battles, the AZ Underdepths felt lame and rushed, especially the area with the crystal tree
Love that you named your Pawniard Oden from One Piece. haha 👏🏼🔥
Also got a shiny one named Newgate : P
What should be missing is the shiny lock on legendaries… but yk, they had to include them
I had no idea the driftveil city song was from pokemon, only because I keep seeing the dancing toothless meme I thought it was just some random song
I don't want this to be an "UM, Actualy" comment, but slight correction, Karmine and
Kieran are the decendants of the maskmaker who made the masks for Ogerpon and her owner. Overall good video with valid points. Great job!
Kieran have an Interesting Character arc in Teal mask and Indigo Disk.
My ONLY crash was hatching eggs by biking around the circle in Ioni’s city. Yes, I’ve experienced the laggy lakes and the lagtree thicket, but that was my only crash. I moved to port marinada and I never crashed again
Loved the DLC, except for the people locked BBQs. I play Pokemon to be alone. I deal all day with people. That is a thing. I have a Pokemon community but would rather just have people assigned to me or NPCs like cosmic guy during sword and shield. I already can't get herba mystica in a chill way.
I do agree on that. I will say that there’s a bunch of discord servers that you could join that do have a lot of people that can help out with codes and stuff.
Here's to hoping Gen 10 is the true reaction to Dexit. You COULD argue that all of the logistics of Gen 9 was already getting set up. But Gen 10 will be INEXCUSEABLE if it's just as bad as the last two.
I feel like the Gen 5 remakes will also make people realise this.
Especially if they’re based off the original black and white and only allow you to use Unova pokemon again.
Synchro sounds like the next step in the pokemon ranger series moving forward as the Nintendo Handhelds like the DS has evolved into the switch.
12:11 Bruh, it was straight-up *CONFIRMED* she's the descendant of Adaman.
I just breeded / transferred all the Starters (that I didn't already have from 7 Star Raids) from Sword, Legends, and Home Trades to Violet rather than waste Blueberry Points on making them spawn in the wild.
I've been trying to avoid this to enjoy the grind but I wanna hurry up and clear up the dex already
Due to the crystal pool cutscene, We indirectly killed Arven's parents.
My team building strat was the dancer ability
I haven’t played the dlc yet because I was in prepared for the 2nd part of the dlc & I beat the main story of Pokémon Scarlet yesterday on new year eve in 2023 & I put my thoughts on the main story on twitter & I will put my thoughts on the dlc on twitter once I finish the dlc because I want experience the dlc myself & enjoy it no matter what & dlc is worth it because I was waiting for it done before getting the game & the dlc too for Christmas & play it without getting spoiled but the ending was so emotional but funny at the same time in the main story in my personal opinion & I can’t wait to show off my champion move on the two new character in the DLC this year in 2024😉
If there was a “bigger goal” that connected everyone … then this would’ve just been yet another linear storyline, which everyone complains about. Isn’t this the point? The stories AREN’T connected. They are their own adventures. What connects this friend group is YOU. You are the conduit in which these people from different walks of life come together, take in a legendary journey, overcome incredible obstacles, and become the best of friends. And then, as you keep progressing, you get to make NEW meangful friends. And by the end, everyone you love shares a story with each other. I don’t find any issues in this area, I think it’s great. When the emotional theme plays and we have to say goodbye to someone, I truly feel it
Certain legendary encounters you have to complete group quests for, which on top of shiny locked legendaries, you basically have to have online to do union circles, sure, local exists but is not the easiest to do
Monkiedori looks like a hippie version of mojo jojo im sorry 🤣
Personally the graphics and frame rates and stuff does get annoying at times, but tbh I don’t play Pokemon for good graphics, and I already have to run most games I play at lower fps anyways cause of my computer. I honestly didn’t even start experiencing much lag till I got the dlc
I have never had the issues you had with the flames
I love scarlet and violet, I have not had so much fun with a Pokémon game since ORAS came out. That being said I can’t just overlook the big problems these games have, the performance issues are my biggest turn off, but they stepped their story telling up to 11 with these games and it’s the same for the DLC I adore the characters, the new Pokémon, the story being told, I agree with you on everything but the returning Pokémon aren’t locked behind a pay wall, unless you’re hellbent on catching them yourself you can use home and have access to every new and returning Pokemon. IMHO the DLC gets a 7.5/10 I loved it and I’m excited to see the epilogue that wraps this entire story up on the 11th.
I didn’t mind the lagging as I went into a mindset that this game just has some issues but I still find it fun
I really liked the Meloetta mini event. I want more new mythicals or returning mythical with these events. In past game all we did was log in get mythical no fan fare or anything.. This was so much better now do it more.
If they made it so you had to control your pokemon to progress or interact with the environment, that would've been a super plus for it
Honestly the elite 4 for the 2nd part of the DLC was pretty easy with only the Steel elite 4 and the challenge for the Dragon Elite 4 actually gave me some what of a challenge
Gotta be honest, even with my level 100 perfect I've team the bbl was pretty difficult. I didn't *lose* any but I definitely had to actually think despite my very overleveled team
My game ain't crashed ever.
my save data got corrupted for Pokémon scarlet like 4 times
Perrin also has the diamond clan logo on her jeans.
There’s something I will say. You can’t exactly fault pokemon for trying their best to make their DLC characters meaningful and impactful. If anything, that’s great! It’s obviously expected that we “journey” through Kitakami over extended periods of time, which is why Kieran’s beats always hit so hard, and why we see so much growth from Carmine. This isn’t a 3 hour DLC for them, it’s getting to know us day after day.
And I’ll be honest, I love them. Both of them. I think Carmine is absolutely incredible, standoff-ish at first, yet becoming another character we can consider one of our dearest friends, and she even ends up being really sad that our adventure comes to an end. And in mochi mayhem, it makes me SO happy to see Kieran smile the way he does. He’s come full circle, and he’s happy, and it makes me happy as well.
You can’t get mad at GF and TPC for trying their best to make good characters in a limited space. Best characters I’ve experienced in a long time if I’ll be honest
Side note but ALL of the ivs on the legendaries also have 20IVS all around. So yeah, you really have no reason to get more than one of each.
Also you don't need the DLC to use the new mons. If you can trade then you can get them that way too. Only exceptions are the key items(like the reigns of unity in crown tundra).
Ya know. I genuinely had fun in the DLC. Sure, pricing was much and there was those "poor performance" issues along with "bad textures".But at the end of the day, it's entirely up to you what you wanna do. If you want extra stuff, great. If you don't, no point stopping you. I guess if I would point out some faults, I would say that idk, Indigo Disk's story was short af, and I wanted more from the base game rivals. But overall, I just had fun. And that's all I pretty much care about. I'd just say a 9/10 imo.
*I know I'm gonna get attacked by this, I swear to fucking god.* 💀
well yeah 9/10? this is why we will never have a good pokemon game again lol
@@kotzer71exactly
I know exactly what it's missing:
The top right portion of the map being filled out.
I know! Wtf is that about? I was hoping that would have been addressed or revealed to be something.
@@dragonite01017 I'm starting to think it's an arbitrary limitation to facilitate the mountainside, to play into the illusion of it as a backdrop, just there as scenery and not intended to be climbed or flown over.
Idk dude, I'm playing on a fucking switch lite and aside FPS drops and tera raids being a slideshow at times - I had one crash before I updated the game (bought a physical cart).
And dude who crashed w/o an autosave has only himself to blame. You turn off autosave - you save manually, especially that there's no good reason to not save frequently while collecting gimmighoul coins. I mean hell, I date back to the days when you had to buy AA batteries for your gameboy and power could die on you without much warning aside the light getting slightly dimmer.
since when did the elite four have object holding in the first battle?
While I had fun with the DLC, it’s brevity is what really lost me, it took me about 3 hours to complete the Pokédex for the BBA, and it only really took me about an hour to run through the story 🙃 I’m glad we’re getting a free epilogue but I also don’t expect that to be much longer than an hour or so. I know it’s beyond unlikely but I’d love them to do an additional 2 part DLC and flesh out some more things. maybe an event where we get pulled back in time due to terrapagos and we see more new paradox Mon
How did you get 12,000 BBQ points for the starters in under 3 hours?
@@NadiaDelcatty-pg6fs union circle with friends
The cut scenes was very choppy on my switch
Nice job on the video.
the whole game is literally just the illusion of choice
I think they should do a fan made dlc, using fan made Pokémon and build a story around that… BUT THEY WOULD NEVER!
The only thing it is missing is character customization and the national dex
They honestly lost me with how heavily they locked the legendaries and also shiny locked them. You’re telling me after fully completing the Dex, I’d need online compatibility with people in order to access the majority of legendaries and I can’t make up a group with random people in it? Nobody I know irl plays anymore and even if they did, the amount of synch I’d need to be in with them to make sure we’re online together is tedious. After buying the game, the DLC and switch online, I’m still blocked from being able to fully play this game and what frustrates me even more is now when I look at games, I think about how much they’ll suffer once servers are offline. PLA luckily won’t really suffer, half the game is literally missing with BDSP, and with SV, a proper storyline is basically cutout, which isn’t entirely bad since most new characters we meet are in the 2nd and 3rd parts of the game being the DLC, but it just feels so paywall heavy compared to older gen games and even though it’s adorable, it’s still one of those things in the back of your head that slightly takes away the joy of SV and it might just be me, but I’d prefer they make an Emerald or Platinum if a good chunk of the region’s story is blocked behind an online paywall.
Its missing a fricking battle facility.
Me: Is he supposed to be a bruh...nah they'er usual not supposed to be bruh right Brock
My view on Dexit has been this: in the main story, I’d prefer using the new toys with one or two other older ones I hadn’t used.
However, I would like the option to carry/transfer all the pokemon to a new generation. Right now, the only pokemon that haven’t been ported to the switch outside of home are the Pan trio, Watchog and, personally for me, Furfrou. Plus, after seeing the processing power that games like Xenoblade go through, you’d think that the switch would be able to handle what is essentially an upgraded ultra Sun and Moon.
A Paradox Keldeo and Ho-Oh would be ideal. Unfortunately, much like the idea of Galarian Lugia, it’s probably not going to happen.
In terms of the story, the pacing is too quick. However, Scarlet and Violet excels in smaller character driven beats in the stories that make the legendary threats that much more daunting where you want to see these characters make it out ok.
I think the performance issues are funny that the world’s most profitable franchise has them in spades. However, much like Dexit, there may not be much of a need to improve because stans and brand loyalty are rampant and, for a lot of people, we’ll still be buying the games anyway because we love pokemon.
I basically used Hisuian pokemon whilst I was making my team in the mask and disk. When I saw that Kingdra was back, I used that, Murkrow, Alolan Ninetales, Politoed, Archaludon, Hisuian Goodra and that to bring some pain. Plus an Arbok for Lacey that I called Stacey X because the urge for X men references was too strong.
Overall, great video.
In my opinion this shit is rlly good
Dude, you can make any order you want.
I love all the references for Unova, I loved the game and may or may not have memorized the whole game for the hell of it while trying to remember the lore
The Indigo Disk is accessible directly after teaming up with Kieran in Kitakami, if don't believe me, start a new game and do so.
It's completely nonsense, but it's GF, I could not expect less.
I feel like if you take “ take everything at your paste” thing seriously you won’t have any problem at all it all a sense of common sense.
Well if legendary pokemon are shiny locked and and evryting ist blocked by farming new curency by doing tedious and boring task i have no reason to play this dlc if i now that befor i wont bought this dlc
Kind of funny watching this video rn, litteraly been doing Dynamax advanture to get shiny legendaries instead of playing gen 9 (still liked the DLC), but shiny locking old legendaries sucks.
Its obvious stuff was cut remember the indigo disk trailer where miradon/koridon was in their battle form in a cutscene? When was that?
I could be wrong but I don't think that was actually a cutscene but rather a unique camera angle being used for gameplay for the trainer in the trailer using Koraidon/Miraidon in battle against Terapagos. With the two of the mid animation for their respective signature moves. That's been my assumption at least.

I hate dryton's challenge forces me to only use terrarium Pokémon caught by myself. And the ones caught in tera raid don't count, even if the raid happened in terrarium. I don't want to spend extra time and resources to train Pokémons that I'm only going to use for this one situation.
What’s it missing? Creators who aren’t stupid by making a dlc that has most of its content difficult to obtain by forcing the player to make union circles. Never has that been a thing in this franchise. Yes trading is the idea but people paid good money for this dlc and not to be hit with this out of the blue
if you really know the type table things will be easy
Still better written than Temtem plot. like the thing with max and the evil team leader it makes you go what? unless you know the plot to Pokemon Brick Bronze
Reasonable Review!
We took the oger from Kieran so he switcheroo the main storyline to his character story
Its Missing Aegislash.
Its missing patrat and pansage trio thats all they had to do one simple thing to fix the national dex but no they couldn't even do that

Drayton is confirmed to be Draydens grandson, bulbapedia
One of my bets for the epilog is a toby fox twist.
i think kiren is possed by the fourth of the loyal 3. people dont change out of nowhere
After watching your review, I REALLY wish that Keiran was a character in the Digimon World and not the pokemon world. His descent into madness could have been paired up with so many Dark Digimon for good story effect.
My biggest beef is that they dint really answer what Paradox Pokemon are and i was hioing they would expand on that.
I agree with some of what you said. Good video. Top 5 best pokemon games out there. DLC is dope. A real "pay wall" is makin me buy another game to transfer my pokemon from Go to home to scarlet. That's a pay wall. I already paid for to catch the legendary in go, paid for home and paid for scarlet. Yet i would have to get a whole different game to have save data. Pokemon in a dlc isn't a "pay wall" that's part of the DLC. The stutters aren't bad enough to ruin my hype and my game crashed on me. Sorry want my thing. Never really was tho in any game. I like what i can do in a game. The open world aspect is good. The Handel's itself is good. The amount of pokemon and how to obtain them is satisfying. You don't even have to trade to get those evolutions. I'd rather pay $4 for online to team up to het Legendaries vs buyung the other version for way more to get jus the other Legendaries. Way better option.
I like Kieran. I like to laugh at his dialogue. I like that it feels fun to beat him. I like that he goes to the deepest depths just to try and beat us, and never does.
Honestly I really liked the battling here, doubles is super cool, and even with my overleveled iv and ev trained team I still had issues, although the drayden challenge was fun, just brought a metagross and flygon and had metagross use earthquake to destroy those 3 poor fools
The new games are handheld
its ashame scarlet and violet has SO MANY ISSUES, stupid nintendo not caring no more since admins changed
