E46 M3 oil leak - help needed to diagnose

Check the cpv I think it’s called the constant pressure valve

What I found on an 05 M3 was the Vanos oil line to canister had a pin hole that can be seen from underneath. $60 part. Good luck.

clean everything first, that way you can see where the real leak is

Did you ever find the cause? Im guessing chain tensioner, or maybe vanos oil line..

Not yet. It's been in storage during the winter and now I'm chasing a misfire so I haven't been able to drive it much. I'm 90% sure it's the vanos though
