Nice gun. The fact you bought it and still have it and use it speaks volumes.

Yep, she's a good old girl.

@PCMGuns Great quality but too heavy fo stalking

Never a light rifle, and the older I get the heavier it feels after a walk about.@@mchughcb

@@PCMGuns I may still buy an extreme in 308 as they can take damage in rough forest stalking but as they are discontinued, getting parts like mounting systems is a PITA.

If you do, give me a shout as I have a surplus, 30mm, M03 QD mount. I suppose it's a bit of a buyers market, as some owners are looking to get rid, due to the spares situation. @@mchughcb

It is indeed a fine gun! Im not getting rid of mine!

Great guns, I love mine. Yes they are weighty, but I never notice it when I shoot it. I zeroed mine in 3 shots, hit a gong at 300 on the 4th shot and returns to zero every time.

Agreed, but, as we all know people will always do what they want, right or wrong.

Heavy for std calibres but for mine in 458lott & 300 Weatherby the weight is perfect for shootability. Hope someone picks it up and make aftermarket parts like barrels

Makes sense, I have an 8.5x63 Reb, solid barrel for my M03 as a boar gun and that's a no lightweight. Barrels are available, but I think calibre choice is limited and order to delivery time is considerable. Spares are limited, to what Mauser have left.

Wonderfull gun, (actually - crazy good gun!) I have one i .308 Win and trying to buy .22LR barrel. Do you think it's possible nowadays? By the way, thanks for good videos!

Thanks for the comment. To my knowledge, Mauser never offered a rimfire barrel, but Blaser do for their R8.

Also the stecher deserves to be shown ...

If my German is correct that means engraving. There’s none on this model except for the Mauser logo stamped into the base of the magazine.

The stecher is the possibility to light the trigger, in this case just pushing it while the cocking system is armed

Ah, yes my M03 has what I term as a set trigger, good for zeroing, but maybe a bit light for hunting. @@MrBorgo83

I really like it even at hunt ....for middle range shooting, over 150 meters

Yes it does give a good release, but you also need to be very much aware of the lighter trigger. A friend of mine had a Steyr Scout rifle with set trigger and a deer appeared suddenly and as he shouldered the rifle his finger brushed the trigger and it fired. Luckily it missed the deer and did not hit anything else, but it only takes a second of 'brain fade' and you can't call the bullet back. @@MrBorgo83
