honestly one of the main reasons I like ac/dc is because they do things like this. they have always been down to earth and never let fame go to their heads. rock on
i think angus is really underrated, i mean to prance around on stage, do his duckwalk, and all these other theatrics while playing, sometimes borderline shredding? come on that takes talent
Hi. I'm the guy in the video. The guys in AC/DC are great. They're down-to-Earth good guys that you might meet in a tavern and have a good chat with. Not one ounce of pretentiousness among them, because they got successful the hard old fashioned way - grinding it out on the road.
Actually did meet and have a chat with Malcolm in a pub in Sydney back in 1981 with a bunch of my workmates. Great sense of humour and down to earth bloke. R.I.P Malcolm Young
It'd be cool to meet these guys cos they all seem really down to earth, bet that guy was really excited, its good to see they really love their fans & appreciate their support, I know this was for charity but ACDC really do seem to have a great connection with the fans, they're my favourite band & Angus rocks!
He paid quite a lot of money to get a guitar lesson but in 1982 I had my dinner with AC/DC and it didn't cost me a penny. They are and still are a bunch of down to earth guys who are just playing some good to honest rock and roll blues.
It was March of 2000, just after S.U.L. was released. I've met them dozens of times since while they're touring. I can just e-mail the tour manager that I'll be going to a show at "X" city and there will be free guest tickets and meet and greet passes at the will-call window. It's beyond what I ever imagined growing up. More importantly, they're all great down to Earth guys. A true "fan's band." There's not an ounce of ego among them.
Stuff that a lot of guitarists get wrong when playing their songs (including me). There's a lot of riffs or sounds that are hard for us normal humans to discern, but Angus makes them look EASY! Watching Angus play up close is a lot like watching a pro NBA, golf or tennis game/match up CLOSE. They make the incredible seem easy.
I've been playing the guitar since I was 12, but I bet if I was to sit down next to Angus just to "jam" I'd forget 99% of everything I've learned so far...
This was probably more of a dream lesson than an actual attempt to learn to play better. Personally I think he was and is one of the best guitarists (especially compared to what some of todays bands consider to be a good guitar piece) but to each his own.
I would jump at the chance to spend some time with the guys, one of the best rock n roll bands in history if not THE best. I wish I could do something like this.
Well just imagine how fcking awesome this guy felt playing along with the band and getting tips from a guitar legend...just fcking awesome!! It is worth every penny
Amen Solo Dallas! It went to a charity as well. I think it's a story of achievement. This guy was a busboy, and set a goal, and pushed the envelope to improve his ituation and did so. It's not like the members of AC/DC need his money, so I am confident it went to a good charity. Rock on Wade
Reminds me of a story my guitar teacher told me he used to work at a music store in memphis and a guy came in real cocky rich guy but a white custom gibson les paul and a week later he called back saying the guitar was out of tune and he hadnt touched it he sent a picture of the headstock to the store and my teacher told him he had to tune it and the guy even threatened to sue
Bon never played drums for Ac/Dc. But he did play drums occasionally in his other bands The Valentines and Spektor. Bon learned to play the drums in Scotland before his family moved to Australia and was in the school marching band.
@20timp Angus started up ACDC him and Bon Scott were friends at school in Sydney and wanted to start up a band. They were played pubs etc in Sydney and Melbourne years before they went over seas. Bon Scott's parents are Scottish. Lol, Australia is pretty much the only place you still get rock bands, Wolf mother and a number of others are Australian, in fact Rock is the main gig in Australia, not dance as in the UK and rap in the USA.
@AsatorTOX yes, they use the same chords. and yes the drum beats are almost identical. but thats what makes acdc so good. its that simplicity that gives them their sound, their uniqeness, and their kickassness. their songs may sound the same, but thats what makes it the best rock ever made.
Yeah like the other replies said, They formed in 1973, but didnt officially play their first show till new years eve 1973. So they basically started in 74. But the original singer was Dave Evans. Bon was doing his own thing, he was like, at least 8 years older than Angus. He was the oldest in the band by quite a few years. I do recall that he knew George Young though, and he got to be their driver by knowing him. Then when Evans quit, he volunteered to sing, tried out, and he became singer.
Both Angus and Malcolm are scottish, but they were still kids (angus 8 and malcolm 10 years old) when they moved to australia. Cliff is englishman too so the only australian born member is actually Phil Rudd.
exactly - all 3 of the Young brothers (Angus, Malcom, George) have said many times the best way to describe their music is rock n roll mixed with rhythm & blues, played on electric guitars.
It's because a lot of metal bands take inspiration from AC/DC, they aren't often called a metal band just pioneers of metal. Inspiration is the foundations of all good music.
O man I would love love to have a chance just meet. Angus I'm. 58 and I. Never had any chance to. To go see the. Greatest band in the world and I have been rocking with them all my life I love you Angus
Malcom and Angus moved to australia at an early age, along with the original singer Bon Scott (im not too sure if they new each other before they moved)and i know that Brian Johnson isnt australian but i dont know weather he is american or italian
@Noonrider11 I agree but Back in Black was considered metal in its time. It was the one of the heaviest things out there in 1980 but as I've said, it's hard rock. One of the best albums of all time.
it all depends on how you learned or were taught to hold it, i was taught to by a blues picker who taught me to play sittin down and when you play standing up,its just natural to hold the guitar slanted because your used to it being slanted from bein on your knee, you cant controll it
@hvrock13 have you even heard any of the Angels albums? These guys are one of the best rock bands ever produced here. They are right up alongside acca dacca
cause of my faith, I don't agree with some of there words in there song, BUT iam a guitar player, and I can tell you that angus plays monsters songs, and the reason there music is so good sounding, is because they keep it simple, know that what sounded good then will always sound good, some chords just sound great together, and they always will.
Talk about a total hypocritcical and ironic statement. Worse shit is said in the Bible. Like for example, pedophila, incest, rape, sodomy, etc. But due your "Faith" you don't like some of the words in AC/DC songs. Man, religious nuts make me laugh. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Well, it's complicated. Bon obviously wrote ideas down while on the road, but the bulk was Brian. One line that was confirmed to have been jotted down by Bon was, "She told me to come, but I was already there." which ended up on You Shook Me All Night Long. Angus has said before that they come up with ideas on the road all the time.
He's from England. A place called Newcastle, a famous city in England which is only 25 miles from me. People from there are called 'Geordies' (pronounced Jordys) and thats what Brians first band was called..Geordie
Hi ADEEOS24 I am a huge AC/DC fan and have been 4 yrs. R U sure Brian's mother was from Italy? Incidentally - who do u think wrote back n' black - angus, mal, bon or angus& mal or angus, mal and brian?
honestly one of the main reasons I like ac/dc is because they do things like this. they have always been down to earth and never let fame go to their heads. rock on
i love how they interacted with the fan and had fun with him. i wish i could of been there playing guitar with them.
i think angus is really underrated, i mean to prance around on stage, do his duckwalk, and all these other theatrics while playing, sometimes borderline shredding? come on that takes talent

How must that have been wow!
@@gregmcdowell4770 Yes, it was an awesome experience, thanks. I never could have imagined something like that happening when I was young/younger.
Id give up my left kidney to play guitar with Angus young
"you´re on" says Hannibal Lecter
Same
It'd be cool to meet these guys cos they all seem really down to earth, bet that guy was really excited, its good to see they really love their fans & appreciate their support, I know this was for charity but ACDC really do seem to have a great connection with the fans, they're my favourite band & Angus rocks!

You're quite the lucky person :)
+Paul Walters So Paul enlighten us about your dinner antics and Angus Young!
Still have answered! The truth will set you free!
@Jmay Barnett only corn flakes🤣
Still isn't a guitar lesson and you have 0 proof, unlike this guy....you're just a jealous douchebag.
I had dinner with them too. 5 times. Fuck you.
This would be awesome to jam with Angus they are all such cool guys on this video I love it!
It was March of 2000, just after S.U.L. was released. I've met them dozens of times since while they're touring. He gifted you with an SG too, right?
I feel like if Angus young becomes a guitar teacher he will be a cool and amazing and not fuss with his students unlike other music teachers.
And that’s how you spend the money.
It’s like going back in time and paying for Mozart for a lesson. Worth it in my opinion.
No idea if you will ever see this, but. . . how long was the lesson/jam?
I've been playing the guitar since I was 12, but I bet if I was to sit down next to Angus just to "jam" I'd forget 99% of everything I've learned so far...
This was probably more of a dream lesson than an actual attempt to learn to play better. Personally I think he was and is one of the best guitarists (especially compared to what some of todays bands consider to be a good guitar piece) but to each his own.
WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
Seems like a good guy. I was so happy seeing him jammin' with the band. He musta been STOKED!!!!
AC/DC, it's a real dream... Angus you're my hero!
this guy ended up getting a brand new SG out of it as well. so cool
Thanks Mike! Angus and the guys in the band are great! Just down to Earth guys you would meet in a pub.
I would jump at the chance to spend some time with the guys, one of the best rock n roll bands in history if not THE best. I wish I could do something like this.
Wow! Dreams do come true!
Well just imagine how fcking awesome this guy felt playing along with the band and getting tips from a guitar legend...just fcking awesome!! It is worth every penny
That's terrific. They're a great band and classy guys. Great that they raised that much for charity.
Angus is one heck of a nice guy. He'd be so great to sit and jam with.
ohhhhhhhh i would have been in his shorts!!!!! u lucky man..treasure that memory!!!! hes my hero..
Man, that would be so cool. Angus is one of the guys that made me want to play guitar in the first place.
To be honest, I don't see why we should compare them, they are all amazing guitarists with their own style and to me that is all that matters.
What a lucky guy. Wish I was on his place.
i would go bezerk if i had a guitar lesson with Angus! i just want to learn his secrets to the legendary sound he makes.
That was so cool! I can't imagine what that would be like!
I think I would die to to play along with Angus ...
Lucky guy ...
OMG i wanna meet angus and learn some about his stuff!!!
the riff in stiff upper lip is soo nice!!
How cool would that be to get a private lesson from angus!!!!! You don't mess with angus!!!!!
Wade Sickler loved it!

Man they're all great guys, funny too
That Guy must be the one of the luckyest AC/DC Fans I have ever heard of.
I would seriously consider selling my soul for a lesson with Angus.
that's pretty sweet that guy gets a lesson ANDDDD he's friend with the band that's the shit right there
Amen Solo Dallas!
It went to a charity as well. I think it's a story of achievement. This guy was a busboy, and set a goal, and pushed the envelope to improve his ituation and did so. It's not like the members of AC/DC need his money, so I am confident it went to a good charity.

AC/DC is the greatest rock band in the history of hard rock. Long live AC/DC forEVER!!!

@20timp
Angus started up ACDC him and Bon Scott were friends at school in Sydney and wanted to start up a band.
They were played pubs etc in Sydney and Melbourne years before they went over seas.
Bon Scott's parents are Scottish.
Lol, Australia is pretty much the only place you still get rock bands, Wolf mother and a number of others are Australian, in fact Rock is the main gig in Australia, not dance as in the UK and rap in the USA.
they didn't know Bon when they moved, met him years later when AC/DC was already formed and he was their driver to a gig
I'd pay that to see them bloody tour again!
Wade you looked awesome! I envy you. Angus is my favorite guitarist and my goal on the guitar is to learn all AC/DC songs. Rock on man.
@AsatorTOX yes, they use the same chords. and yes the drum beats are almost identical. but thats what makes acdc so good. its that simplicity that gives them their sound, their uniqeness, and their kickassness. their songs may sound the same, but thats what makes it the best rock ever made.

The fans love the sound and the band takes that sound every night...straight to the bank...
You do have good point....
exactly - all 3 of the Young brothers (Angus, Malcom, George) have said many times the best way to describe their music is rock n roll mixed with rhythm & blues, played on electric guitars.
This men, has a fuckin' big luck!! I will give everything to play with him.

Back in Black
@hvrock13 have you even heard any of the Angels albums? These guys are one of the best rock bands ever produced here. They are right up alongside acca dacca
i would kill for this

Your faith? Whole Lotta Rosie is based on fact: Rosie's size measurements, way worse songs out there.
