when tr3 was released i was 11 years old, and today im 37 and i still cant get over the memories of this game later last night my son whos 10 years old told me about a game called tomb raider and he wanted to buy it on switch he said tr 1 2 3 in one game and i told thats an old game its not supported or available anymore, he showed me gameplay footage of it and i recognized it instantly and im really happy this generation gets to see our old simple games not 4K ultra graphics games which even arent fun to play anymore. i think im going 11 years old again and finish it once more 😊
what really amazes me is how difficult these games are! you can spend 1 hour in an area with now clue on what to do next. Hope your son has the same patience you had back then!
I'm from the same era as you, and I too have fond memories of this game. I think I got this as a christmas present (released in november of 1998). Best of times.
@@edgarava1back then that was kinda the point. We didnt mind spending hours trying to work out a tricky part. We didnt have such an abundance of games easily accessible so we just had to carry on. Every game was more special back then cus of this. Now games are disposable. Also we had no internet, or very basic version. The fun was to figure this stuff out on your own. Nowadays if cant solve it in 2 minutes everyone looks it up online. Gaming will never be as good as it was.
Tomb raider 3 was always my favorite, mainly because it was the one I played as a kid. But I liked the difficulty and sprawling levels, made it truly feel like an adventure. Last night I saw a dream about madubu gorge. There's something about that level I like; how it's centered around this rapid and it's surroundings and you use the kayak to ride downstream. It's great and brings a lot of memories.
Same here. My friend had the PS1 and was playing Tomb Raider 3 while I was visiting at his place. The next day I had to go and buy the PS1 console along with TR-3!
I always felt they should have stripped Lara back to pistols at the beginning of each adventure and balanced the game around that. It would have made the order decision less impactful and allowed for some more meaningful secret hunting with players forced to find hidden weapons all over again. That said the game is completable doing Nevada last, that's the way I first finished it, but you have to conserve that Desert Eagle ammo.
Glad they made the remastered Tomb Raider 3. I only played this game once and then sold my PS1 and games a few years later. It’s going to fun to replay this.
Thanks so much for doing this walkthrough. Playing the original, but that first level was brutal took me hours even with the walkthrough. I'd never have done it without this.
I mean the game is great, it's a classic and all but I feel like sometimes it's way too easy to get lost without a clue of what you're supposed to do. There are barely any audio cues and if I remember right, the original didn't even bother to show the player what item they just acquired, the only way was to open the menu every single time and look for what's new on your inventory. I feel like Tomb Raider 2 was the most balanced experience of the original trilogy.
It gets worse as it goes on. Tomb Raider 1 has a good, somewhat linear direction. This game though you have absolutely no idea where you are going, it took me days to record this
@@HarryNinetyFour It was notoriously known as the hardest tomb raider and even gaming magazines back then admitted that you needed a walkthrough guides for this one.
By far the best. No audio clues, no BS. Get lost in the game and figure it out. So much better than the crap today with mandatory tutorial levels, everything spelled out for you.

Original Lara being a lone wolf acrobatic was just poetic. In the new ones, she's just a poor man's Rambo, sadly. They are fun games, but it doesn't feel like Lara at all.
Game is great. It’s easy to get lost and not knowing where the clues or hints that gets me. I’m sooo used to the maps with the newer tomb raiders…. But so greatful for this gameplay so I won’t miss anything.
I stopped playing this game when 7 yo because my PS1 died. I kept in my mind blurred memories of the London underground level and that for me was a liminal space even before knowing what a Liminal Space was
Great Walkthrough Harry, though it's best to choose Nevada first from the three areas you choose from because in the High Security Compound stage, all your weapons and half of your Medi kits get taken away and you don't get all of them back (unless you use the All Weapons code). It's nice to see you got through that though.
They changed it in this one so you get your stuff back in Nevada. But either way South Pacific was wrong one to choose first as those dinos take a ton of damage
@@HarryNinetyFouryou get all the bullets and media pack, not the weapons! You have to search for them! I like it better this way! Because it keeps you on a mood to find all the secrets and picks up!
Reminded me why London levels are so hated, even in remaster. Inconsistant texture theme, meanlingles crawling (this for all TR3 levels though), excess levers and doors that exist only to unlock another lever or door nearby, confusing underwater area that looks fine if you know exactly where to go, but will quickly turned into nightmare if you ever get lost.
I just finished Tomb Raider 2, it was a pure moment of gameplay and relaxation close to meditation. I'm moving on to tomb raider 3, I've just finished the London part, the worst level I've played on a tomb raider, I'm sick to my stomach it's so bad.
In the first level, if you don't shoot the monkeys, they won' attack Lara and they even show you where to go if you follow them. For some reason in the rest of the levels, they WILL attack Lara regardless.
The way I literally missed the giant T-Rex in the beginning and somewhat got to where I am at, at the crash site is amazing. They did the 3rd game dirty and I thank you for uploading this. I saw you said it took you a long time. 🤙🏽
I managed to finished tomb raider 2 without any guide I never completed Tomb Raider 3 without level skipping back in the day i intend to finish it! Thank for the video guide
Unfortunately for me, I had crap timing and just beat the original version of this game in the middle (or towards the end of) last year, so it's still too fresh in my mind for another playthrough, but at least I can enjoy the other 2 games. Why they didn't remaster the 4th game as well, I'd like to know.
The 4th and 5th games used a different engine than the original 3. So it would be a whole new side project if they even tried. Wondered the same myself until I looked more into why they didn’t remaster at least tomb Raider 4 last revelations along with the OG 3
Glad that the collection has save anywhere like Tomb Raider 2, I would NEVER have been able to complete this game with just the save crystal system... think I'd have gone insane.
Yes it’s much quieter, I had to check a few times that the game settings hadn’t gone down. So it is actually like this in game and not an editing error
Yes this is immediately noticeable after playing 1 and 2. Only a handful of sounds in 3 are at the correct volume - gunshots, some water effects. Pretty much everything else - footsteps, rolls, grunts and vocalizations, climbing, slides, gun draw + holster - is too low to hear.
It may sound overdramatic but TR3 and TR4 give me headaches, u just don't know where to go, you have to try every possible way to find what to do without looking it on yt , on the one hand that's good bc you enjoy the game more , but on the other it takes so much time( btw the boat level and boat controls are a hot mess )

Hello there. Does anybody know how to use the touchpad-function properly ? You can quick-switch weapons with it. And, as it seems, it also quick-uses key-objects.

Actually, another one I've struggled to figure out, lowering from a crawlspace in to hanging off a ledge, feels so janky every time I try to find the button and I end up just having to do the weird little flip out of the crawlspace instead which isn't ideal when it's particularly high.
I do not think it’s possible to hang from a ledge like that in modern controls, I couldn’t find the input for it anyway. I just did the flip but in the mines at the end there’s one where you have to grab, so I just changed to tank controls for that
i remember i switched to PC version from PS version due to the worse than bad graphic quality of PS version.... it was as I remember 800x600 resolution in that period of time.... and it looks even this so-called remastered version is worse than the PC version back then.....
My opinion on the downsides of Tomb Raider 1, 2, 3 Remastered Tomb Raider: Not enough movement styles like: Climbing up walls, etc. Tomb Raider 2: Too many enemy spam Tomb Raider 3: Terrible level/game design

Bislang habe ich TR2 durch und bin jetzt bei Teil 3. PS4. Bei TR 2 is alles gut. Bei TR3 verschwinden nach Indien fast immer die erlegten Gegner. Das is´n Bug, denn man kann das mit Speichern und direkt wieder neu Laden regeln. Totaler Mist, die PS1 hat das locker hinbekommen. Noch was : checkt einer von euch genau, wie das mit dem Touch-Pad (TP) funktioniert ? TP + X ist immer Pistole, TP + Viereck ist bislang Desert Eagle und bei TP + Kreis zieht sie eine Langwaffe. Aber ich kann nicht beeinflussen welche. WIe geht das ? Bei mir hat sie einmal den Granatwerfer gezogen (warum auch immer) und danach immer Schrotflinte obwohl ich keine Munition dafür habe. Diese Schnellziehfunktion ist cool, sollte aber auch funktionieren. Bei TP + Dreieck sagt Lara immer "NO". Ich schätze mal, daß sie dann direkt das richtige Objekt benutzt. ALso z.B. den richtigen Schlüssel wenn man vor dem entsprechenden Schlüsselloch steht ... Also : wie genau geht das alles ? Oder is das alles nur ein BUG ?
Szerintem felesleges volt ez a remaster, ugyanaz, mint a régi. Ugyanolyan szar a grafika. Akkoriban még jó volt 90-es évek vége, 2000-es évek eleje, mert akkor még nem voltak olyan teljesítményű gépek, mint most, de azóta az új részeket, mintha teljesen mások csinálták volna. Sokkal jobb az utolsó három rész generációkkal, mint ezek. Sokkal izgalmasabb, grafikailag is jobb, a történet is, pályák szebbek. A Tomb Raider 2013, a Rise of The Tomb Raider, Shadow of The Tomb Raider. Többi se volt rosz, az Underworld, a Legend, Annyversary. Ezeken a remastereken már elaludnék játék közbe. Végigvittem annó az összes dlc-vel együtt. De lehet a mostani generációnak csinálták, aki még nem játszott vele, vagy aki nosztalgiázni akar.
Another 🐂💨💩 cash grab. The original is better from nostalgic point of view. The dev team bet on nostalgia and failed miserably like everyone else. We still don't have even one acceptable remake. Only very few acceptable remasters and this game isn't one of them at all.
Go play CD Tomb Raider then, the game will sell fine without ur input. The DLC's alone are worth alot, because some of them are almost unachievable.. So its a good package for such a small money
@joelm5509 this game was poorly made to begin with awful mechanics. It's utterly unbearable to play, CD or DLC. That's like putting paint on a cardboard box and calling it a house that's refurbished.

Well the remasters do support 4K resolutions, so they are now technically 4K games.
My dad loved this game. We used to play it on friday evenings. I wish he could play this once again with that wonderful graphics.

the atmosphere of these games was better, just explore in silence, no constant dialogue and characters muttering to themselves

Willard at the end as the spider always gave me trouble back on the PS1. i'm glad they added health bars to the bosses so that'll help

Oh yea i remember this level was hard back in the day when i was younger. And that soundtrack really sets the tone to put you on the edge of your seat

tomb raider 3 was the painfull more complicated of the 3. When i played aldwich... omg.. please no. I still love it, memories of beautifull times.

I thought that but for some reason mine just wouldn’t play, I tried to reload a save but had no luck. Likely just a bug I had as it should be there

Besides 1 this was always my favorite. I loved the scenery in this game the most for some reason and it looks beautiful here!

Actually, another one I've struggled to figure out, lowering from a crawlspace in to hanging off a ledge, feels so janky every time I try to find the button and I end up just having to do the weird little flip out of the crawlspace instead which isn't ideal when it's particularly high.
I do not think it’s possible to hang from a ledge like that in modern controls, I couldn’t find the input for it anyway. I just did the flip but in the mines at the end there’s one where you have to grab, so I just changed to tank controls for that

i remember i switched to PC version from PS version due to the worse than bad graphic quality of PS version.... it was as I remember 800x600 resolution in that period of time.... and it looks even this so-called remastered version is worse than the PC version back then.....

My opinion on the downsides of Tomb Raider 1, 2, 3 Remastered
Tomb Raider: Not enough movement styles like: Climbing up walls, etc.
Tomb Raider 2: Too many enemy spam
Tomb Raider 3: Terrible level/game design
Do the original “silent hill” and “metal gear solid”
I probably won’t do many videos like this, but enjoyed the Tomb Raider games and wanted to do walkthroughs. Maybe in future if people like this kinda video from me! :)

Bislang habe ich TR2 durch und bin jetzt bei Teil 3. PS4.
Bei TR 2 is alles gut. Bei TR3 verschwinden nach Indien fast immer die erlegten Gegner. Das is´n Bug, denn man kann das mit Speichern und direkt wieder neu Laden regeln. Totaler Mist, die PS1 hat das locker hinbekommen.
Noch was : checkt einer von euch genau, wie das mit dem Touch-Pad (TP) funktioniert ?
TP + X ist immer Pistole, TP + Viereck ist bislang Desert Eagle und bei TP + Kreis zieht sie eine Langwaffe. Aber ich kann nicht beeinflussen welche. WIe geht das ? Bei mir hat sie einmal den Granatwerfer gezogen (warum auch immer) und danach immer Schrotflinte obwohl ich keine Munition dafür habe.
Diese Schnellziehfunktion ist cool, sollte aber auch funktionieren. Bei TP + Dreieck sagt Lara immer "NO". Ich schätze mal, daß sie dann direkt das richtige Objekt benutzt. ALso z.B. den richtigen Schlüssel wenn man vor dem entsprechenden Schlüsselloch steht ...
Also : wie genau geht das alles ?
Oder is das alles nur ein BUG ?

Szerintem felesleges volt ez a remaster, ugyanaz, mint a régi. Ugyanolyan szar a grafika. Akkoriban még jó volt 90-es évek vége, 2000-es évek eleje, mert akkor még nem voltak olyan teljesítményű gépek, mint most, de azóta az új részeket, mintha teljesen mások csinálták volna. Sokkal jobb az utolsó három rész generációkkal, mint ezek. Sokkal izgalmasabb, grafikailag is jobb, a történet is, pályák szebbek. A Tomb Raider 2013, a Rise of The Tomb Raider, Shadow of The Tomb Raider. Többi se volt rosz, az Underworld, a Legend, Annyversary. Ezeken a remastereken már elaludnék játék közbe. Végigvittem annó az összes dlc-vel együtt. De lehet a mostani generációnak csinálták, aki még nem játszott vele, vagy aki nosztalgiázni akar.

Another 🐂💨💩 cash grab. The original is better from nostalgic point of view. The dev team bet on nostalgia and failed miserably like everyone else. We still don't have even one acceptable remake. Only very few acceptable remasters and this game isn't one of them at all.
Who would want a 'remake' if you want a modern tomb raider play the modern tomb raiders

Go play CD Tomb Raider then, the game will sell fine without ur input. The DLC's alone are worth alot, because some of them are almost unachievable.. So its a good package for such a small money
@joelm5509 this game was poorly made to begin with awful mechanics. It's utterly unbearable to play, CD or DLC. That's like putting paint on a cardboard box and calling it a house that's refurbished.
