HOLLOWBODY Details,
A tech-noir survival horror short story, set in the urban decay of a long abandoned British city. It's a Shipper's biggest fear. You're grounded in the exclusion zone, twenty miles of death and decay sealed off by the towering, suffocating walls erected after the collapse.
Alone, stranded, and with limited resources at your disposal you'll have to push your way through the zone, solve environmental puzzles, manage resources and fight for your life as you try to find a way to escape beyond the wall. Play as Mica, an unlicensed Shipper working for an infamous ring of black market freelancers.
It sounded like a simple job, another run across the zone, slow and low. Keep under the radar by casing beneath the electrical storm that blankets the sky overhead. But something feels off. The drop point is dead.. hadn't been active in months, maybe years. These things happen, people get spooked. A five hour flight back and a few hundred credits wasted on fuel. You get in your hover and head home.
An hour into the zone and there's an issue with the hover. The nav's running in circles and you're gaining altitude. Before you know it a blinding white fills the sky. The dash goes dark and your hover drops out of the air like a lead balloon, slamming into the paved streets below. You wake to the acrid smell of an electrical fire, rain pounding on the cracked windshield. You're surrounded by the crumbling remains of what were once considered homes.

I love how indie developers use the fixed camera for these new survival horror games. In my opinion, with a few exceptions, the modern third-person camera makes them more like action games than horror games.
It's been overused
Its immediately evident that this developer knows how to deliver a polished product. The gameplay/animation is incredibly smooth, and the cutscenes were executed with just as much polish. This could truly end up being something special if the plot can deliver!!!

The camera work, character movement, environment and atmosphere all look very Silent Hill-esque, wich I will not complain about, it looks nice.
developed by one person? I'd buy it just to support that developer's dedication.

I love the old style resident evil locked camera but also that you can lock onto enemies and still move around at the same time, seems like a really cool blend of old and new!
I think there were a few games back in the day that also offered this style, or similar. Cold Fear and Obscure come to mind. I really enjoy the mix

I like the interaction prompt in the bottom left corner. Also fits the cyberpunk vibe in a really cool way.

The similarities to *Silent Hill* and *Cyberpunk* shine through as though they were made for one another. This developer has also taken full advantage of dynamic camera! How it flew down to first person and back again is astonishing!
Definitely silent hill inspired with the flashlight and character plus the camera movements.
I am a backer on Kickstarter the game is inspired by my city and its quite jarring seeing how well that has translated there are a few areas in the city with huge blocks of flats the area surrounded by semi-detached houses one of the stretch goals was a mall area inspired by the gallerys a mall here in the Bristol City centre it used to be heaving when I was a kid but over the last few years has all but died out unfortunately the goal was missed but im kind of hoping when this game does well they will consider adding it as DLC.

You’re correct. There are some RE vibes, but far more SH. I’m just so used to saying inspired by RE with these types of survival horror games. 👍

It definitely have that Silent Hill vibe.
The feel and music of the combat is definitely very 'Silent Hill' inspired, but the use of tech and nature of the enemies has a ring of the more 'grounded in reality' Resident Evil games without going too far into post CV era games.
So, more Code Veronica meets Silent Hill vs anything too over the top like RE4 onwards.
The pacing definitely feels closer to what I'd see in an older RE or Silent Hill game though, and I love the tension filled exploration since that's what I loved more than the fighting in survival horror games anyway.
The vibe all modern horror games need. Thank you for sharing. I just added to my wishlist.

I have to say these Silent Hill inspired games are getting creepy and the best way to enjoy this is with 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound it's a whole different world for sure

Fix camera angles are great. As long as the camera is lock too the player (unable to turn it). If you hace to turn it & wakk with tank controls at the same time 😢😑. This game looks great.
