David Russell continues his epic project of recording the complete works for lute by J.S. Bach in Baroque settings with a performance of the Prelude, Fugue, and Allegro BWV 998 in Monforte de Lemos in Northwestern Spain.

David's playing is timeless, his interpretation is always incredibly respectful to the composer, the time and place.

As always, Mr. Russell’s interpretation is unique and the performance is absolutely inspiring! As a guitarist myself, I look at some of the things David does and go “I would never think of that!” It’s awesome to hear such beautiful art and be intellectually challenged at the same time. The Prelude Fugue and Allegro by JS Bach is owned by two people, Julian Bream and David Russell. By the way, our teacher in Alicante, Spain, José Tomás, owned this piece for eight string guitar interpretation. Just ask David.
