I’m two weeks into my new dentures and even though they look amazing, I’m in a WORLD of pain! I can’t eat anything, I can’t laugh or yawn. Sometimes I break down crying because I am in so much pain. But i suck it up because im going in for my first adjustment and I know that this is all worth it. No more infections and abscess, I can finally smile and hopefully get a good job.

I am 24 and have horrible teeth from gum diesese and I wanna get dentures but I’m scared to have all my teeth pulled and I’m afraid if I get dentures my mouth will sag or it might be uncomfortable and sore I’m afraid that I half to watch what I eat but u look really good with them so it’s giving me some confidence about getting them

Thanks for the insight. About 3 weeks ago I did a search for a DIY Reline...and there you were. I'm at least 4yrs in and honestly I've learned more in the vids I've watched of yours than most pay visits to the lovely dentist. Can-do...dear God...you have no idea. Hey, I have a Dremel...power tools for teeth...and in some ways I've done better than the young ladies fresh out of dental school have done. And have not wanted to go back because of these young ladies who have no idea or insight as to what they do. Enough of the rant. The ProSoft is pretty amazing stuff. My upper has been pretty good for a long time. Just a minor touch up on it. The lower is going to take at least another try. I just may not have put enough in. Next time it all goes in, it certainly can be cut off. You have made me aware of things that I really thought no one else could understand...kinda like The 12 Steps for Dental Issues...well sorta. The best thing is I'm not alone in this adventure. Oh you mentioned a nail file. Foam sanding sponges, and different versions (or levels of abrasiveness) of ScotchBrite Pads are an option I have used. I am not afraid to jump in...really jump in! I Love your outlook on life...it really does not have to be quite so friggin' serious!!! Thanks Again, Kyle

I would def. go in to the dentist if u can and get those sore spots checked cause I had to do that and it sounds like it's exactly what I went through and I am glad I went in cause I has these tiny slits up in there and now they he fixed them they went away. Good Luck with all of it you will be fine. And it's so great knowing that it's these minor things now and not like when u first had to get them pulled. I am so glad that pain is over. And this stuff is dealable. It's like child birth you totally forget the pain u went through after it's over.
Yup I don't even let it register, it's so minor! Even the little stuff we went through before dentures was so very much worse and those abscesses... whew! Also I don't know what kind of childbirth you had, but it's been 24 years for me and I have not forgotten lmao.

It's two years later and tomorrow happens to be Memorial Day, AND today is my two month mark. I just love your sense of humor. I believe I have watched every denture video that all of you have made and I know I'm nuts [iv' been told many times] but I feel like I know you guys. lol thanks for making this journey bearable and laughable.
I'm WAS nervous about getting dentures, but thanks to you and Kalinjax and others, the decision to move forward has been so much easier. In fact, I booked an apt with Kristi's dentist as I live in Fl. but live South in Palm Beach area, and am driving 4 hours just to see him! I'm hoping that all goes well and I wont have to drive up again for at least a month. I'd rather go where the reviews have been positive as opposed to going in blindly. I need a full upper with 9 extractions, none of which are "complex". Wish me luck... You're the best!!:)
June 4th, 12 hours post extraction 18 teeth,ok, but very sore. Dr. Davis in Jacksonville is really great. I do, however, look monster-like and it looks like my lower jaw is really bruised. Wish me recovery luck.
Madolyn Reynolds hi madolyn, I just had 16 teeth pulled june 3rd also, I havent been able to wear either denture after the 1st day, my top one just fell out when I sat up and the lower was moving all around just making me sore, im sure it will get better but am anxious to wear my teeth I paid so much for :) let me know how its going with you? Hi Becky, I had 18 extracted Wednesday. My written instructions stated 'Do Not" remove dentures for 24 hours, then 2nd day,remove, clean and reinsert. Then on day 4 I can take them out at nite, which is tomorrow, thank God!! The bottom one is wreaking havoc in my mouth but I'm scared to death to take it out. Called dentist and he recommended Benzodent. Be careful not to keep them out too long. I may file the ridges o my liner, perhaps that will help. How are YOU doing????

Anybody seeing this I'd like to suggest Seabond denture adhesive. Easier and much cheaper. It gives a soft lining and some suction. It saved me from loose dentures and you can put teeth in and out with ease.

Please tell me about the adjustment to having something covering the roof of the mouth?? That is my main problem. I am going to a place called dentacare. I have an abcess in my front tooth right now....painful....but most of the teeth that I have now are loose so the dentist wants to pull them all and an immediate denture in. They are only doing one denture,,,,not other one in a year....I dunno any ways I tried to talk him into a partial but he said we cant do it because most teeth are loose. I have already cancelled the first appt. the impressions and xrays have been done,,,,its the going ang getting it done....and its because I cant imagine having the roof of my mouth covered like forever....how did you adjust and does it get to a point that you no longer realize it is there?? The food struggles: Pizza, Cookies, Noodles, the worst is bread? Even in three pieces it stinks! I expected the other 3 but why bread. It gets stuck in some teeth before I got them pulled even! Will update about two weeks later, the pain could subside?

My extraction date was Sept 16th I've had nothing but pain so last week had to go to have them adjusted to no avail still cannot wear them so long story short I have tried cushion grip & so far at least I can wear them but they teeter totter, if I bite on one side the other side drops down but my main question for you is how do I remove this cushion grip? I read your just suppose to run warm water over it but I put it on the entire upper denture literally everywhere just so I could put these teeth in due to horrid upper gum sores. I am worried if I will ever be able to remove this cushion grip!! Thank you. Deborah.
I need to find out the truth of mine I feel like all u see is acrylic, like fake nails in mouth and I everyone knows then minute I open my mouth. After getting my perm I went in the store and the girl new and since then I have downed my self even more. I have gotten them adjusted because they were huge i still have a big over bite but not as bad
Hello and thanks for your videos. I had 12 extractions and immediate dentures on 9/7/16. However my situation is that being a customer service representative I have to speak on the phone to people all day. I have not put my dentures in for the one week that I have had them because I can't be messing around with them during the workday being very busy and then people not understanding what I am saying. So, I have been working with them out and trying to speak as clearly as I can-not an easy task. So, my questions/concerns are if I could wear them at night and then not have to worry about them during the day ? I have not even tried to use them "glued" in yet, concern about gagging, although I am going to try it now. Also, am I causing any damage from not really having worn them for one week ? I did try to wear them after the extractions a little but had a bone fragment removed and my gums are very sore still. Please respond with any advice you might have. Many thanks.
How long until you get the permanent dentures. My temporary was loose from day one just fell right out. They can't do anything. they said just wait until your gums heal in about 8 weeks and get your regular dentures. I only use them for show. Haven't been able to eat any solids. they slip right out. It's been 9 days. I am miserable. Upper only. I have a partial on bottom, but can't gum the food or eat with those temp, dentures because one bite and they slip and give me soars. Regretting getting my teeth out. Will not let go of the bottom no matter what.
Hi Tara, I won't get permanent dentures until my shrinking stops, which is usually upwards of a year.. your dental clinic is not telling you the truth. The first thing they can do is put in a reline. If they refuse to do that, you need your money back. You should not be getting permanents at 2 months, it's too soon! Go get an account on denturesanewsmile.ning.com and post your story, you'll get a lot of people helping you. Is this a private dentist? They should be ASHAMED of themselves preying on you like that! As far as eating, even if they fit well, you wouldn't be eating many solids at day 9 but you could eat stuff that's a little firmer than soup. Look up cushion grip on youtube and you'll see videos of how to use it, it may help you until you get a reline. If your dentist office said you have to suffer with loose dentures for 8 weeks, they are LYING to you. What SOBs! I am so sorry, but if you head to denturesanewsmile, people can help you!
actually these are 4 teeth he added to my partial as he was trying to save me money. So even thought it's full upper they were added to the existing partial. He said 250.00 for a relign. I am thinking of doing the home relign. I used cushion grip they still fall out and the cushion grip falls off if i use adhesive. I get one day out of cushion grip. One day I removed the partial/denture from my mouth and all the cushion grip stuck to my roof of my mouth. I can't gum foods as even soft noodles won't break up. I should of kept my last 4 teeth. Only 2 were bad, I should of put up with the pain. He said he doesn't even like doing immediate dentures because of this reason that they are usually too big. I can't wait no 6 months or year for denture. they said 2- 3months. At first they said 6 weeks. I guess i will have to try home relign. I been sick from not being able to eat too.
Did you ever have a problem with the dentist wanting you to try to keep some of your teeth and do partials, and temporary fixes, that to you, might only last a few years???

My dentist said the tongue trys to expell the lower teeth and yes mine need adjusting ( lower only) tops are PERFECT😒

try to wear them after the extractions a little but had a bone fragment removed
and my gums are very sore still. Please respond with any advice you might have.

How long until you get the permanent dentures. My temporary was loose from day one just fell right out. They can't do anything. they said just wait until your gums heal in about 8 weeks and get your regular dentures. I only use them for show. Haven't been able to eat any solids. they slip right out. It's been 9 days. I am miserable. Upper only. I have a partial on bottom, but can't gum the food or eat with those temp, dentures because one bite and they slip and give me soars. Regretting getting my teeth out. Will not let go of the bottom no matter what.
Hi Tara, I won't get permanent dentures until my shrinking stops, which is usually upwards of a year.. your dental clinic is not telling you the truth. The first thing they can do is put in a reline. If they refuse to do that, you need your money back. You should not be getting permanents at 2 months, it's too soon! Go get an account on denturesanewsmile.ning.com and post your story, you'll get a lot of people helping you. Is this a private dentist? They should be ASHAMED of themselves preying on you like that! As far as eating, even if they fit well, you wouldn't be eating many solids at day 9 but you could eat stuff that's a little firmer than soup. Look up cushion grip on youtube and you'll see videos of how to use it, it may help you until you get a reline. actually these are 4 teeth he added to my partial as he was trying to save me money. So even thought it's full upper they were added to the existing partial. He said 250.00 for a relign. I am thinking of doing the home relign. I used cushion grip they still fall out and the cushion grip falls off if i use adhesive. I get one day out of cushion grip. One day I removed the partial/denture from my mouth and all the cushion grip stuck to my roof of my mouth. I can't gum foods as even soft noodles won't break up. I should of kept my last 4 teeth. Only 2 were bad, I should of put up with the pain. He said he doesn't even like doing immediate dentures because of this reason that they are usually too big. I can't wait no 6 months or year for denture. they said 2- 3months. At first they said 6 weeks. I guess i will have to try home relign. I been sick from not being able to eat too.

Did you ever have a problem with the dentist wanting you to try to keep some of your teeth and do partials, and temporary fixes, that to you, might only last a few years???
