- We continued sailing westward through the Society Islands. In peaceful Taha'a we rode the tidal currents over a beautiful coral reef. A perfect crossing under full sail brought us to Bora Bora, where we swam with sharks and rays before climbing the central mountain to take in the spectacular views of the island and it's barrier reef.
As the days on our traveler's visa became scarce, we checked out of French Polynesia and watched the weather for a big ocean passage, to the far end of the Pacific.
Our boat Julia is a classic wooden sailboat, built in 1960 in British Columbia to the Ingrid design by William Atkin. She may be a vintage classic boat, but she is still a great blue water cruising vessel, out enjoying the world's oceans.

I know of no finer sailing travel content on CZcams. Your artistry invokes an earlier, quieter, and more lovely time.
I jump all over the place trying to find the sailing stories I crave. But your channel is the one that sticks in my head. The scarcity of your films make them even better. If I ever get the chance to be in the south pacific on a boat, a big reason will be because of your films. And my god your boat is beautiful.
After becoming paralyzed in 2010 my sailing experiences effectively ended as crutches & wheelchairs don’t mix well with sailing 30-40 foot vessel. However your videos, almost beyond any words of beauty, have allowed me to experience the Pacific almost as if I were with you on your journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
As an old sailer myself, you have inarguably the best sailing/cruising channel on the planet!!! I'm nearly 80 years old and now, must sail vicariously through you two. Many thanks.

I loved all your videos of French Polynesia, one of my favorite places in the world (with New Zealand). As you are heading west, I hope you will have the chance to visit the Cook Islands, in particular Aitutaki, a coral atoll in many ways similar to Bora Bora, without the towering volcanic peak. A walk around One Foot Island is something to remember.

Years ago , when I was on a flight to South America, an young man sitting by my side on the plane ,who introduced himself that his family own a small hotel in Bora bora. I had no idea it’s so amazing….
