You could drive through a tunnel and skip the windy road, but this road cannot be skipped! Its scenery seems to come straight out of a movie.
It's free of charge, and closed in winter.

This video ends in San Bernardino village (Socar gas station at San Bernardino Tunnel Southern Portal), not in Mesocco as described

Wonderful video. I realize need of meeting a schedule is sometimes the determining factor, but I can’t imagine taking the tunnel when this glorious road is the alternative. The Alps are truly mind-blowing.
A daily commuter will happily take the tunnel. It'll take 5 minutes instead of 30.
Next thing. Just imagine all traffic that goes through the tunnel would go over the pass. God that would be slow and agonizing with all that traffic.
Also can you imagine going that route by truck?
Trucks with dangerous goods aren't allowed through the tunnel...

I think it's part of the ventilation system for the Tunnel, at least the tower to the left
Is it a one way traffic? Nothing seems to be coming the other way.
My second favourite after Fluela
The nature and the roads are so nice but you driving too fast. Slow down a bit or two.

Why rushing in this great landscape. Take all the time you need. I drive a little runabout more than able to outperforme your Tesla but why should I? There is so much toe see, which you really miss when speeding.
Tesla sound like a washing machine😂
