One of the things that sets Machinehead apart from what alot of bands of this stature are doing, is Robbs need and want to stay connected to his fans. He definitely comes off as a humble guy, and one whose passion still burns...Makes you feel apart of something...very lacking in bands this size.
My thoughts exactly, well said.
A very true statement of the man and the band!
Totally agree and I love this insight.
Definitely
Killer that the band do this with and for their fans. Respect
Robb seems to be a very cool guy to talk with
Pedro Henrique too left but I can talk some left politics I can agree with however i love to talk music with him
The fuck has politics got to do with anything? We're talking metal here. And yes, Robb is insanely cool to chat with - had the pleasure once during the Blackening tour, and the thing that struck me was that he just listened. Properly listened. I didn't say anything of note, just nervously babbled the same old fan stuff he's probably heard a thousand times before, but he just stood there with all the patience in the world and genuinely appreciated it. Even asked more about me and my story, and you could tell it wasn't just a platitude.
So yeah, damn cool guy with a lot of warmth and a deep passion for what he does and his fans.
ABOLISH AUTHORITY Oh good, the fourteen-year old 4channers have arrived.
ABOLISH AUTHORITY Where the hell are you getting this Marxism shit from? Is it related to anything to do with this video, or are you just spewing random words in the attempt to look like an edgelord?
It was awesome to be able to take part in that listening session (tho I can't wait to hear it on my rig as the setup they played it on left a bit to be desired) - cannot wait for the album to drop!
imagine saying the album sucked in the moment robb walks in
I would say that.. Fuck man, ok he wants to do something new, but this isn't new. I don't know, lets wait to listen album...
If same thing happened to me when they were promoting Supercharger, I'd outright tell him that. It'd be harsh to say that, but I would.
Scottzgar, Robb Flynn was touring for months when he had inguinal hernia. He knew about it, and he had to have a surgery, but he wanted to finish the tour first. Every show he was suffering from severe pain, but he kept going. I'm pretty sure that if you are willing to take a risk like that, you are no coward.
Well now those 10 fans were sucking Robb's dick.
Reijo P., and you wanted to be 11? Poor you.
Rob thanks to you and all of machine head coming to Guelph Ontario a few years ago. No openers just machine head start to finish. It was awesome 🤘🤘🤘
thanks robb keep them coming . cant wait to get my copy and see you in seattle march 7
A group of lucky people! Can't wait to get my copy through the post and seeing / meet the band in May!

Are you actually worried about Machine Head? Gimme a break, man...
The album will be a blast, I'm sure of it.

Blackwatch I think i'm more afraid Of my own hype for The album but you are right this is machine fucking head so it's going to be a fucking blast
Hellyeah! That's the spirit!
Dude of course you can’t trust this, it’s an advertisement for their fucking album lol
Not true. I was there, we didn't know Rob was there and they were filming us during the entire session.
Album comes out on my birthday! More excited about the album then my party

Trezzo 13 April 2018..can't fucking wait
Well jealous!!!! Lucky sons a birches! !!
It did have more breadth
Lucky bastards
This video is awesome, I feel things like this are severely lacking in metal, it happens but not as often as it should. I mainly associate this kind of thing with reality tv/pop culture/whatever, and that sucks!! Not to mention the 'artists' that do this are mainly looking for publicity and more fame. Not the case with metal because if it was, why the fuck would you play metal? Lol. Plus you can see the passion and the genuinity which just straight isn't there with reality TV etc.. I don't know if I explained this properly but basically, this is sick and MUCH respect.
robb es el puto amo
What about a "new" BURN MY EYES ???? Still your best record.
Brasil
May 23rd
A little off topic here but maan I wish they'd kept the perfect mix of aggro and melody that they had on Locust. Yeah yeah keeping the same formula is boring as fuck for any artist but it seems like the music since they signed to Nuclear Blast has had a softer and more overtly accessible sound. More so than anything between 2001-2011 (this is coming from someone who likes the majority of supercharger btw)
This means that common themes like struggle, brotherhood and rebellion can sound at sometimes hollow and contrived because that angst that was previously omnipresent throughout, now comes off a little forced and tropey. Fuck it though, no one is the same person they were 20/30 years ago (just ask Eminem...) and if people enjoy it and MH feel satisfied then that's great. I guess I'm just a sucker for that sound where it didn't feel like any one thematic/compositional element was fighting against another to be the driving force of the song. As a fan though ill definitely be giving this one a listen!
I've heard two songs off the album I really don't want to hear any others. The Burning Red had some ok tracks on it, but Supercharger was just awful. Not a fan of the Nu-Metal Machine Head. ;o(
Both the burning red and supercharger are kick ass albums, that's my opinion 🤘🤘
Going to judge a 15 track album by 2 tracks?
Tyler Quantrill yup
Tyler Quantrill at the moment two songs is all I have to go by brother hey honey. When the album comes out I guess we'll see
For all who dislike.... I really don’t get your point. You are NOT metal heads for sure. These days there are only few bands left on groove metal stage. We’ve lost some great bands: Pantera, Chimaira ets. Only LAMB OF GOD and MACHINE HEAD keep killing it no matter what. Yes they are expanding the limits, search for new ways but staying true to theirselves. Personally I haven’t heard any nu-metal elements in new songs. It is experimental, complicated, emotional, clever groove/thrash metal. Come on.... these guys are in their 45-50. Rob is 50 years old. And you still want to hear same shit from them like thrash-core from 1995-1997. They are not excited to return back there, only moving forward for better or worse. They could have turned to pussy melodic metalcore or djent many times BUT they will go their own way and FUCK all the haters.
This is a commercial. Metallica and Taylor Swift did the same kind of video. There are 10 fans sucking Robb's dick very hard. It is not metal.
Only Kreator and Megadeth can do good metal nowadays. And Babymetal.
Machine fucking head!! Rob Flynn did it agin
I liked the song catharsis, but hated the other song they released.
Lol if this album is anything like the Catharsis single this will be a bunch of radio-friendly alt-metal songs that will cater to the fans who just wanna hear catchy metal with no substance. For anyone reading, here are some modern metal albums that are infinitely better and heavier than anything Machinehead has done:
1. Gojira - From Mars to Sirius
2. Oathbreaker - Rheia
3. Primitive Man - Caustic
4. Deafheaven - New Bermuda
5. Baroness - Blue Record
6. Primordial - To the Nameless Dead
7. Elder - Reflections of a Floating World
8. High on Fire - De Vermis Mysteriis
And many more...
First of all, I don't think that someone who has Korn and Deftones in his playlist can scold any band for being "catchy", "radio-friendly", or "lacking substance", pal. Second of all, Catharsis is a sixth-minute long track. Mainstream radio does not play tracks longer than four minutes. Third, none of the albums you've mentioned come even close to the sheer power and impact which Burn My Eyes had. Fourth of all, you have Deadpool on your avatar. I rest my case here, son.
EgocentricHead okay I can explain the Korn and Deftones lol I only used that feature of CZcams in highschool and back then I was into nu metal, since then I’ve changed musical interest dramatically to Death Metal and Prog Metal as far as my metal interests. And as far as my quote about catharsis being radio friendly, what I mean is that the song just sounds super formulaic, I feel like I’ve heard that song structure thousands of times before and I wasn’t feeling it at all
EgocentricHead and also you can have ur opinion on Burn My Eyes being a heavy record. When I was into nu metal I listened to Machine Head A LOT, and listened to that record a lot as well. And as far as I’m concerned, Gojira and High on Fire has shit on everything Machinehead has done in terms of heaviness, musicianship and song structure, yes including Burn My Eyes. But hey that’s my opinion.
Also, why the hell does my avatar have anything to do with the validity of my opinion? I just thought it was a funny pic.
1. I don't give a shit that you listened to that crap when you were in high school. The fact remains, still.
2. My opinion on Burn My Eyes being a heavy record is not an opinion, pal. It's a fact. It's a heavy record. And I don't know why you brought up Nu Metal to this, considering that Burn My Eyes has jack shit to do with that overrated genre and its influences is Thrash and Hardcore Punk. It's not just heavy musically, but it's heavy because of the brilliant production that catches every nuance of each song. It's one of the best sounding metal albums of the 90's.
3. And yes, it's heavier than Gojira. Machine Head plays in lower tuning, and their sound is more hardcore-inspired while Gojira sounds like a Metal band that loves Indie Rock. High on Fire sound more like Hard Rock than Metal. Never liked them, and they definitely not heavier, or more musically complex than Machine Head. Saying that aforementioned bands did more musically than Machine Head is pure nonsense. Machine Head has ten-minute long songs in their discography that have indescribable structure.
So yeah, go figure.
EgocentricHead and by the way, if you wanna talk about sheer power, all the albums below shit all over Burn My Eyes
1. Opeth - Still Life
2. Death - Leprosy
3. Behemoth - The Satanist
4. Bolt Thrower - The IV Crusade
5. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
6. Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve
7. Necrophagist - Epitaph
8. Demolition Hammer - Epidemic Of Violence
9. Entombed - Left Hand Path
“I rest my case, son”
I hate when they do this and the fans over hype it like when metallica did it for hardwire.
I hear lies here...
